As i said, you are funny on your ignorance. I´m so anti-western living in Austria, a western country which i would never leave. God you are ignorant. 1. Ehm no. Thats not what subjectivity means at all. It´s my opinion. 2. How is it flawed? This is typical for you...making statements but never elucidating them, or proof them. China is not perfect but an economical powerhouse. You won´t get any help or ideas from the US, take a look at their economic system and how horrible it is. (trillions of debt, unemployment rising, cities going bankrupt, all easy info to find) 3. I assume you probably mean the US again as the example...yeah nice living..on debt. Democracy is a nice thing, sadly we live in representative democracies, where politicans always lie for their benefit and then do whatever they want as soon as they are elected. But yes a real democracy would something i would like to see for a change. 4. No one? You mean all that talk about ISOLATING russia coming out of the mouths of persons like Obama (go look at some interviews) is a lie? They are just not able too. Annexed? Funny, the referendum of the people of Crimea, observerd by over 70 international observers says something different. In fact that is legally in the UN charta. The only thing that was not legal, was that the soldiers (allready on the ground because of the military base) went out to (peacfully btw, not ONE shot) remove the armed forces of Ukraine AFTER Ukraine attacked the civilians in the east Ukraine. As far as i see it, he protected Crimea, and they are very happy about that. You should go there for holidays, it´s a real beautiful place in summer. And after that you should make a tour of the destroyed remains of east-ukraine, but careful or Kiev Grad might hit you in the head. Patriotic? Patriotism is one of the most stupid things in existence. A falls sense of pride so that idiots go and fight wars for goverments. Oh don´t get me wrong, i would defend my home with all means. Because i live here and like it here, not because i was born here by accident. But i would never follow dumb idiots into wars, in countries that are none of my business. I mean come on. Look at the war history of the US, this highly patriotic country. A little bit of flag waving and some american and god slangs and they are off killing people all over the world. LOOK at the ****ing history man, it´s written in blood. Oh for bloody hell: a) Austria is not Germany b) Germans don´t look down on Russians, in fact people are not happy about sanctions and don´t believe the **** they get fed too. The backlash, pressure on big outlets and viewer drops of this anti-russian crap is telling c)Hitler has nothing at all to do with this e) and this is something important. Europe had many wars in it´s past, but after it was done we made peace and moved on. This is in contrast to what the "empires" did and do, see history of UK and America. I mean you live in Africa for gods sake, you should know better than that. What you also don´t seem to get is that this is also Russian idiology, you can be an enemy in the past, but a good friend now. Otherwise they would never do business with Germany, not hard to understand is it? And don´t even try to point out American and German "friendship" now, because even the germans know they are still effectly occupied. As for the EU, the list is so long....the short story? over 70% off laws come from Brussel, from non elected people, thats not a democracy, it´s the opposite. Not having our own courrency is a disaster. Their laws ruin this country and others. THATS why....and many many more reasons. 5. See, in contrast to you I HAVE shown in this thread that there is NO single proof of any Russian military there, have easily pointed out WHY Russians are willingly fighting there, HAVE debunked enough lies and proven them material, mostly coming out of the mouths of these people you seem to like so much. Not that it matters, nowdays there are volunters in the Donbas from all over europe (it´s a nice thing to have phone cameras these days) and even the OSCE must admit the constant violations of the Minsk 2 from Kiev. All that together proofs me right, and makes you look like the one who is totally misinformed, ignorant and blind. But because you can´t come up with something, this will again be an one sided discussion. So there is no point in talking with you any more or is there? 1. No it is subjective, you said I have no idea what I'm talking about. Please refer to the definition http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/subjective?showCookiePolicy=true ""of, relating to, or emanating from a person's emotions, prejudices, etc ⇒ subjective views" No need to thank me, we all sometimes make mistakes with the usage of English words 2. BRICS is flawed, it has benefited the South African economy very little because we are flooded by Chinese goods that undercut our own local goods and the Chinese dictate to us who can visit out country. They said we musn't allow the Dala Lama to visit and somehow his visa wasn't arranged in time 3, Okay so for you there are no real Democracies...okay well I'm sorry you see it like that. Just because Democracies have issues it doesn't mean they don't exist. What would be your ideal system of government or what country has your ideal system of government 4. Are you seriously suggesting that the Crimea referendum was legitimate ? Just to clarify what I mean. I am not saying that the majority of the people in Crimea didn't want to be part of Russia. I am saying the referendum was illegitimate because no one except Russia and its allies recognized it which means it won't get the global recognition it needs. Austria is basically like Germany's little brother. You have such strong cultural ties you may as well be "mini-Germany " ...nothing wrong with that by the way. Germany is an economic powerhouse, I wish my country had such strong ties with another country 5. Obviously Russia will say the soldiers in Ukraine are "volunteers " ...they aren't exactly going to admit to sending troops. See the link below to understand the Russian strategy http://www.rferl.org/content/russia-nemtsov-report-ukraine-war/27011532.html Well we can continue the debate but I don't see much point because there is very little you can say to change my mind ?But I did enjoy the exchange of views

Western spies forced to pullout : Snowden to blame
BruceVC replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
Well that is a huge relief ...but it doens't make sense that the government would want to him to print such a unbelievable story knowing it would be questioned ? What would be the purpose? I should have scrutinized the facts more closely because looking back it does seem unlikely -
I'm on leave today because tomorrow is a public holiday in South Africa , its Youth Day, so I am taking a long weekend

Western spies forced to pullout : Snowden to blame
BruceVC replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
This is ultimately the fault of the same government that spout all those ideals that they fail to live up to. Is it such a surprise that people are disillusioned with the state of the West? Also, this is politics there are no clear black and white and it seems like the West is the darker shade of grey. I hear you but frankly I don't really care if people are disillusioned with the state of West. That isn't really the point I am raising. I have always maintained that Assange and Snowden have attempted to damage the national security of the West, this was denied by some. We now have a reality where spies have been recalled from China and Russia. These spies could have been in operation for years and now that information gathering has to start again. This clearly has a negative impact to the Wests information gathering ability, this really should concern all of us as it does undermine the West's overall security -

Volo, its not necessary to characterize people as " evil Nazi SJW " Personally I don't care what you call me because I know it comes from a position of ignorance and I'm use to some people trying to insult me But you need to realize that most people will get annoyed by this and be offended. So I can completely understand Hurlshots perspective -

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/terrorism-in-the-uk/11673533/British-spies-removed-from-operations-after-Russia-and-China-crack-codes-to-leaked-Snowden-files.html So this is the result of the Assange and Snowden type attacks on the West...I hope all the people supporting Snowden are happy, this is irrefutable proof that Snowden has weakened certain Western countries and there intelligence gathering abilities In summary Western intelligence agencies have been forced to pull back spies in Russia and China as some of Snowdens leaked encrypted documents have been cracked. This is a disaster as the Russians and Chinese are actively spying on Western countries, as is normal for most countries, so now the West is at a major intelligence gather disadvantage..hopefully this is restored in the future I hope this puts to rest finally the spurious view that " what Snowden did hasn't really hurt the USA "

And the extended military campaign 40 years ago during the Vietnam war is relevant to Assange how? Sorry, i had the illusion that you were arguing out of principles instead of the whim of the moment. The fact that you're incapable to tell the parallels between the cases is quite telling. The only spurious parallel I can think of is that the USA government lied about some of its military actions during Vietnam...and once again I fail to see how this relates to Assange posting confidential documents. Unless you feel Assange is the right person to bring the " truth " to the world ? And yes my argument is absolutely based on the principle No, you deliberately derailing leaks about TPP to the guy presenting the leaked documents as someone that should tried to high treason. But when presented with evidence that Ellsberg just did everything that you accuse Assange of with the Pentagon Papers you revert back to playing dumb. The circumstances were different, Ellsberg was charged with espionage and then the charges were dropped due to Nixon engaging in unlawful efforts to discredit him Assange is not a US citizen and right now doesn't face any charges in the USA. This may change and hopefully should So the two examples once again are not the same. And your Ellsberg example still doesn't vindicate a person posting confidential government documents on the Internet, I don't why this is so hard for you to understand? Hahahaha Nice backpedaling, you weren't even aware of the existance of the Pentagon Paper before i posted them, did you? You're a good soldier. No I wasn't aware of them, but I did read the link. I don't know everything Meshugger despite what you guys think

That's gastronomic heresy !!! Gastronomic heresy...you need to drink Red Wine with bolognese ...the same good Red Wine you made the bolognese with By the way I make a killer bolognese, it takes about 3 hours if you make your bolognese with red wine, then you is likely actual making a ragu... and we scoff at 3 hours. dry white wine, beef stock and milk is your traditional cooking fluids for a genuine bolognese. simmer MINIMUM 4 hours... if you is rushed. 5-6 is our typical simmer time. we actual serve the following day as is one o' the foods that is best when given a chance to reabsorb flavors after a night. but again, we almost always go ragu instead. HA! Good Fun! ps depending on your meat choice, your stock might change, but how many home chefs have veal stock on hand? we got chicken, beef, and veggie stock... and for a few months after thanksgiving we have turkey stock in the freezer. Sure, my recipe does actually say 4-5 hours But I have found 3 hours does work, I normally can't wait longer than that I don't use stock for my bolognese. The only liquid I add is 500 ml red wine and 1 tin of tomato puree and 1 tin of chopped tomatoes And then I add 250 ml cream or milk for the last 20 minutes. I use about 1 KG of beef mince

But in this case, the guy never dated his accuser. In fact, it seems that she initiated oral sex on him while he was blackout drunk. What preventive measures could he have taken to stop from having his girlfriend's roommate performing oral sex while he was passed out and accusing him of rape two years later? We could give him same helpful tips that we give women, don't drink too much, don't go in parties alone, don't dress up too sexy, don't be friends with members of opposite sex, don't be out in late, etc.. But we should know by now those tips are bull****. I'm being serious, what preventive measures can one take to prevent a situation like this? I would see this case as an anomaly, I doubt this is very common So you should be fine going out and meeting new ladies KP, no need to worry to much -
I really hope he decides not to

I am not sure what exactly you mean by "initial accusation". This: Does not sound fair or reasonable at all. It sounds like satire frankly. Sorry I was referring to cases of rape outside of universities where you could go to jail, this university hypothetical is not about John going to jail -
Ive been at the same place for almost 20 years. Huh. Maybe it's just an education thing, but we get a solid amount of people getting antsy to move on in between the 10-15 year mark. Some do, some stick it out. Once you hit 20, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel though. I was at my previous company for exactly 12 years

So you have no issue with sacrificing the innocent? You don't believe in "It is far better that 10 guilty men go free than one innocent man is wrongfully convicted"? Here is the thing if you've been raped nothing will change that. And while it is important to do your best to punish the guilty nothing can undo the crime. On the other hand you're giving criminals (false accusers) power to condemn innocent people. There is no equivalence here. It is NOT a re-balancing of a two dimensional scale. There is a different element entirely. mmm..good points raised. I don't believe innocent people should go to jail but I don't think this systemic advantage translates to that. This is about the initial accusation been seen as real, you still need to go to court to prove the charges -

Considering the level of abuse towards women in most societies I have no issue with them having a systemic advantage Its funny but despite all the women I have interacted with in my life I have never been accused of rape and neither have any of my male friends, yet I know women who have been raped So a systemic advantage seems like a good idea, I'm not sure why people are so worried? -

The pot calling the kettle black... Oh so I'm a bigot? You will need to provide links my Serbian friend or I will be forced to dismiss your post as just more " Anti-BruceVC propaganda " -
Barti my darling I'm extremely disappointed that you think a good system of government is one where an outsider can undermine the national security of a government by posting confidential documents on the Internet? That is Assange's view of acceptable conduct. No government in the world would accept this, so I will give you time to reflect on this and then make another post ...you may want to rethink your opinion of Assange ? Re-think my opinion of Assange? I already said I wasn't a big fan of his...merely that, given the circumstances, his Western ideology is more agreeable with than our current Western governments'. Are you, again, suggesting that I should actually have a higher opinion of him? But thats the thing, the circumstances of Assange's actions are unequivocal. He posted confidential documents of the USA and other countries on the Internet. So either you support his illegal and damaging decisions or you don't? I'm not sure why anyone would support this but I can't read minds so I am interested in any justification for Assange's choices...and please consider the words "confidential " and "top secret " That's like saying a tapeworm that has fused with your intestine is beneficial because it can't be removed. Comparing large global corporations to a tapeworm is an analogy that I just cant accept..its unfair and unrealistic Lets take Microsoft for example, but this applies to all global companies. They invest in a country by hiring local staff, training people, providing services and paying tax. They also contribute towards social responsibility projects like helping to build schools and educate local people. This is a good system and is highly beneficial to the country invested in. I'm not sure what else you expect? A tapeworm does nothing good except for maybe keeping your weight down as it consumes the food you eat ?

But the west is tool for corporations that are behind all of the world's current problems. I won't deny that global corporations have at times acted unethically and have in fact negatively impacted the economic growth of some countries, I'm sure we have all read the book " Confessions of an Economic Hitman" but that is in the past. That view is very 1980's and how global corporations use to conduct themselves. Nowadays there is much more social responsibility and I firmly believe that corporations do more good than bad overall
