  1. You could be right, I hope you not but this could be about where he comes from...except Laos is definitely not a wealthy country. Its basically another failed Communist\Socialist experiment ...I dont consider the citizens privileged at all ?Its not in the same league as other wealthy or stable Asian countries like SK, Japan and Vietnam
  2. This does seem very unfair....and I am surprised its happening in California which is notorious for sometimes being lax around enforcing correct immigration laws
  3. Nice one, its only good news when I see a sequel to any gaming franchise I support
  4. You make some good points here. Interestingly enough China liked Trump in the beginning of his presidency but Trumps natural impulsive, erratic and capricious nature made it very difficult for most world leaders to predict what he was going to do or say next around the way presidents are suppose to behave and act.....especially the US president considering the role the US plays in geopolitics Trump generally confused Asian leaders the most and China has never known how to read or placate him. Thats one of the things I will miss about Trump...it made a welcome change, at times, to see no normal obsequiousness towards China and to see valid public criticism towards the CCP But I dont think it was worth the negative Trump brought around his domestic policies for me to want to see this type of US global statesmanship continue
  5. The Chinese are very effective at cyber-espionage, meaning they use state sponsored hacking to basically steal and hack IP from global companies. The Russians are very effective at cyber-warfare, meaning they use state sponsored hacking to directly interfere in countries elections and state controlled institutions like the US 2016 elections and the attacks on the Ukrainian power grid https://techcrunch.com/2020/10/19/justice-department-russian-hackers-notpetya-ukraine/ Its not that China cant do it but its not there normal way of engaging in hacking and general interference when it comes to the USA ....China generally commits other types of cybercrime but I dont believe at all they would interfere, or could even do it, in the way some Trump supporters are suggesting is the reason Trump lost Such widespread voting irregularities with not enough evidence is not at all realistic or should be convincing to anyone
  6. Mamie.....stop being deliberately contrarian, you dont want people to think you being naughty again From what I understand Yakuza isnt a " real " open world and there only certain places you can go to. It is an excellent game from everything I have read and heard but is it true " open " world like RDR2 or GTAV ?
  7. This may sound like we being pedantic but this is an interesting debate and relevant to all our Democratic elections and how to always try to improve them and insure the elections are respected and no foreign power interferes ....there are a few very rare example to this but that is a different debate The point you make "You can't create discord, you can only exploit it" is an appropriate one and also something I have been involved in years ago in my views and travels to the ME and specifically the various ideological conflicts in that region I believe there must be some historical precedent or political dichotomy already existing that allows the type of Russian interference to thrive and have any impact. The bias and mistrust between citizens in any country must be preexisting and then as you quoted you can exploit it I like that quote. I am going to start using it, if you dont mind , in some RL debates I have sometimes
  8. I agree, as someone who has spent hundreds of hours on RDR2 single player and the online version Rockstar Games has currently the best modern open world gaming universe IMO The debate around fantasy open world is more subjective and nuanced. The Witcher 3 does indeed offer an excellent example of how CDPR created a compelling and brilliant open world but I do think Bethesda with the Elder Scrolls still has the advantage with open world mechanics and design ....slightly
  9. Yes you raise a valid point that leads to unnecessary confusion around what civil society deems is " interference " in any Democratic election and should it be fair or reasonable to raise legitimate complaints or issues with what foreign powers do Russia interfered in 2016 but its impossible to say how much they really convinced US citizens to vote Trump. Personally I believe the " anti-Hillary Clinton " bias was always there and the Russians just fed and encouraged this bias ....but they didnt create it. Pizzagate, for example, was caused by choices US citizens made to believe misinformation that could easily have been disputed with common sense or a little research But end of the day as you mentioned you dont need to be found to have somehow hacked and changed the final voting numbers to be accused of interference
  10. This is a really bad example and false equivalence, Russia did interfere in the 2016. This is an irrefutable fact Venezuela, Cuba and China have not interfered in even remotely the same way in this election and arent the reason that Biden won
  11. Im sure he does feel appreciated but nothing quite feels like " appreciation " than breakfast in bed ...
  12. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Men's_Day Thats right this relevant day is today, its important we celebrate this day as men play a very constructive role in the world I hope your girlfriends and or wives are planning to spoil you today ...maybe dinner or breakfast in bed ?
  13. Very entertained at the moment with a plethora of great series that include Rookie, 2 x FBI ( both **** Wolf directed ), SWAT, Blue Bloods and the very interesting Good Lord Bird which claims to be historically accurate and tells the story of the violent abolitionist John Brown
  14. I have always loved the concept of the Lovecraft universe and I tried to get into one or 2 of the PC games that are set in this world I started playing Cthulhu : Dark Corners and I wasnt impressed, I stopped after about 3 hours Maybe the latest game, 2018, Call of Cthulhu will be better. I am not sure what game you playing ?
  15. Im still playing Divinity 2 and I think I am really getting into it and finally appreciating the way combat works around RTWP Last week I nearly stopped playing as I losing most battles as I was level 4 and had left Fort Joy and was literally battling to survive in places like Hallow Marsh. But I then started adopting a much better combat strategy and ensured any party members who basically were Tanks were equipped better and I started being more strategic around magic usage Anyway once I got to level 5 and 6 the combat became much more manageable and I also now understand the RPG mechanics unique to this type of Larian game
  16. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/11/18/trump-fires-cyber-chief-krebs-who-said-us-election-secure Trump is really in a foul mood and is lashing out like a petulant child, now he has fired his head of Cybersecurity I am not sure why he is so angry, its not like he lost the election.....oh wait
  17. Thanks for clarifying because now I understand what you mean by draconian and this raises an important point that is very relevant to how countries should and can deal with virus spread. And this current post just highlights this point If I understand the overall Oz approach in Victoria, were the army and private security only deployed in Victoria to enforce the curfew and can you elaborate on the hotel security policy you mentioned meaning did every hotel in every state have to use private security to enforce the policy or this only in Victoria ? So when you say " you not use to seeing the army enforcing curfews " do you mean people living outside of Victoria would see on TV the curfew being enforced and that was jarring and unnerving ? So for example in your personal case, and I am not sure exactly where you live , did you follow the curfews on TV ?
  18. Draconian, really ....what would you define as draconian when it comes to globally proven and successful lockdown measures that we know work when numerous countries have seen cases of virus outburst . So in other words Oz did the right thing in Victoria and it achieved the expected result I am not trying to be rude at all but when we unintentionally start seeing correct but necessary lockdown measures as "Draconian" you feed the false narrative that these steps are not necessary.....and if you look at the current reality of the virus spread in many countries like the USA, EU, Russia and India you will see what the virus spread causes And I consider you a reasonable and informed person when it comes to the virus so if you think the Victoria lockdown as unnecessarily extreme I wonder how many other citizens in Oz think the same. Yet the absolute truth is your country has been able to currently curtail the virus spread so I cannot understand how anyone could criticize your virus policy? I hope this makes sense because the sad reality for many countries, including SA, is we dont have the political will and resources to be able to implement this type of successful approach....so I look at Oz in an envious way because you are able to truly change the virus trajectory and you arent dependent on the vaccine like most of us to make this same change Be grateful Gorthfuscious, be grateful. I will swop your virus approach any day with the SA one
  19. Okay that is a surprise. I found Chad Wolf to make some good points but these rulings may prove that he made certain unlawful decisions Here is a question, going forward when children arrive without papers on the border does this mean the US has to make them citizens or do they get a form of temporary citizenship? And if these children are not deported who would pay to take care of them because if they have no parents where do they live going forward? Its one of these illegal immigration developments that we dont even see in SA, we have millions of illegal immigrants but they survive and live in the informal sector and they have there own support structures funded outside the state . So we cannot stop them legally. But saying all that I have never heard of children just arriving by themselves ....that is unique
  20. This story is making me feel very nervous for some reason that and is a little confusing because I am missing something ? What would Pence pardon Trump for? Also what is the purpose of the a new " loyal electors vote " , could this somehow swing these states to the Republican side .....that would surly undermine the sacrosanct purpose of a persons right to select a candidate through the normal vote ?
  21. Gromnir I have been waiting to ask you how you feel about the Biden victory? I then thought you probably not going to assume he won until the count is actually over....and in certain circumstances this could be the correct response any lawyer would take who believes you have to wait till the final count is declared, you dont want to be seen as jumping the gun in such an important election But I have good news that should alleviate your reticence to comment. CNN has done some serious fair number analysis and there polling experts have said Trump cant possibly win in the recounts because the margins are too great? So maybe I can ask a different question, if Biden wins what happens to Barr? Would Biden fire him....can he do it and it seems hard to believe Barr would drive a Democrat agenda? I believe he is a professional and it will be interesting to see how he proceeds
  22. This is so unusual but interesting that twice now you have also articulated something that immediately annoys me in fantasy RPG Silly lines and teenager writing really doesn't connect with me
  23. https://sacoronavirus.co.za/2020/10/30/covid-19-vaccine-inside-south-africas-oxford-trial/ I was just confirming what this means. We aligned to a different vaccine and different pharmaceutical company but we dont have to use anyone vaccine specifically....we will have to factor in cost and efficacy into our vaccine decision We also dont have the faculties in our healthcare to keep the Pfizer vaccine at -70 so I dont think SA should worry about this first vaccine. So to answer your question I have no idea what companies they referring to ?
  24. Yes I agree, also members of the Republican establishment would feel loyalty to Trump for understandable reasons like how well they have done in the Senate and Trumps successful implementation around certain Republican policies like the tax breaks and the SC placements But if they openly defy and criticize Trump they also risk Trumps supporters voting them out and not supporting them in future votes So you keep quiet or add some public support and survive the Trump juggernaut especially now thats its waning...I would do the same if I was a career politician like Cruz, Rubio or Graham
  25. The global support for Biden is valid and understandable especially if you live in the EU and UK and understand the important role the USA plays and needs to play in ensuring a better world based on proven Democratic principles I always mention this but the US elections have real global ramifications around geo-politics and ideological alliances So it is consequential on many levels
