The All Things Political Topic - All people love themselves too much to be changed by something as simple as love.
I honestly didnt know most of that, I dont know much about the specifics of rifles and guns. Very informative, thanks for sharing. Where did you learn most of your gun knowledge, was it in the USMC or because you are a responsible gun owner and have an interest? And did you know about guns before you joined the USMC?

Which game are you looking forward to?
Its funny you mention ABBA because I also love their music despite many younger, and older, people considering their music to be " meh" My parents got divorced when I was one and my mom raised us but we saw my dad maybe every 4-5 weeks because he was working overseas loads but we did go overseas once a year for 15 days on holiday with him and my stepmom when I was about 10 onwards. Anyway my dad is a huge ABBA fan and when he use to come pick us he always use to play ABBA in his car so I literally grew up in the late 1970s and 1980s listening to their music So I love all ABBA songs especially Dancing Queen , Chiquitita and when I Kissed The Teacher I dont think you ever forget the music you use to listen that your parents enjoy. Here is song list that all ABBA fans will know 🥳 https://www.last.fm/music/ABBA/+tracks

Obituary thread
Sad news indeed, Desmond Tutu was an iconic South African and was one of those people who played a role in ensuring SA got to its first Democratic election in 1994 without a civil war or collapsed economy. Very consistent through the years RIP Desmond Tutu

Good Old Games still good
https://www.gog.com/game/knights_of_the_chalice_2 Someone mentioned this game on Codex yet I had never heard of it but it looks excellent, based on D&D 3.5 ruleset with lots of mechanics that look great. But I am sometimes fooled by hype and exaggerated gaming marketing so what do people think....anyone know anything about the development studio or this game ? EDIT: I watched the video on the GOG link and now I am not sure it does look excellent

Which game are you looking forward to?
@Sarex Indira has been quiet but he is one of the numerous people, since I became active in 2010, who use to post relatively frequently on these forums but has now vanished. But thats generally the nature Internet forums and members, its strange to me that people who post for years on a forum leave without saying goodbye or explaining they moving on. Its not a big deal if people move on I just like to know why. But at least Im still here so its not all bad news 🥳 ( and dont worry Sarex if I do leave Obsidian I will make a proper farewell post saying goodbye ) But what a great thread to raise " what are we looking forward to " and 2022 is going to be a big year for gaming. My list includes BG3 full release Cyb 2077 at a level to be played without too many issues or things left out Dying Light 2 Elex 2, cant wait for this one Dragon Age 4, not sure if it will make 2022 Elden Ring Oh yes 2022 bodes well for gaming

To all my fellow heathens, agnostics, heretics and believers, a Merry Chrismas
Initially I thought you were highlighting another example of someone trying to undermine Christian faith and the celebration of Christmas but what a great article Very cute and a heartwarming story 🐶 One of my best Xmas stories of the year, I am going to share this one with everyone I know

The TV and Streaming Thread: Now up for syndication...
I saw Silent Sea available on Netflix and I have watched numerous non-English series before and I enjoyed them. But funny you mention it but the dubbing into American\UK english accents I sometimes find disconcerting and can detract from the overall entertainment. So I am going to do what you suggested and watch it with the English subtitles

Witcher s2 was great, I have never read the books but I am very happy with how the series is developing In fact I am more than comfortable to give it a solid 70/100 on the globally endorsed and followed " BruceVC TV series " rating system. And for those numerous members on this forum who avidly follow the " BruceVC game rating system " you will be happy to know my TV series rating system is equally as popular and accurate as that ...so in other words any score >50 is golden and you can have peace of mind that the series is good and worth watching. No need be concerned with other reviews One thing I found interesting and Im not sure its part of the books ?

Coronavirus 666: The Number of the Delta Variant (but in an entirely scientific context)
@rjshae I just got reprimanded by my sister in law and mom for talking about this article and the virus on Christmas day even though I consider this is a good news pandemic story because it really suggests the new variant is less lethal as hospitalizations are down and suggests new variants could be the same . I even tried to play the " its not my fault, its an American who posted the story " card Thanks for getting me into trouble, why you posting links like this on Xmas !!! You a very bad boy

Coronavirus 666: The Number of the Delta Variant (but in an entirely scientific context)
I have to agree, I know its not the fault of scientists and virologists but this article basically tells me " whats the point of taking a third jab if the efficacy only lasts less than .....2-3 months more or less " I can tell you now their is NO chance in SA we have the resources or public appetite to take boosters every 3 months or so The vaccine hesitancy people are going to have a field day with this. I assume the solution is to create dedicated Omicron vaccine but that will only last until the next variant like we seeing with Omicron ....maybe now that we have had 2 jabs the only feasible solution is to just let things develop naturally because hospitalizations are down really down and the article mentions The UKHSA report also estimates that someone infected with omicron is 50 to 70 per cent less likely to be admitted to hospital, compared with delta. This is based on a preliminary analysis of 114,144 omicron cases and 461,772 delta cases occurring between 22 November and 19 December. The difference is somewhat larger than suggested by a study published by Imperial College London on Wednesday, which reported a 15 to 20 per cent lower risk. Is that what we should take from this article ?

What are you Playing Now? No really, tell us more...

Wot I bought last - a fool and their money mystary edition
Thats a good discount for Disco so well done for taking advantage of the sale Let us know if you enjoyed it, its one of those games that seems people either loved it or werent that impressed I mentioned this before but one of my brothers told me that I had to play it because it literally changed his view on games because he loved it so much. I played it and wanted to love it but the setting wasnt fantasy and I just lost interest. But I think you will enjoy it because you enjoy games that arent necessarily about combat or just fantasy themes

To all my fellow heathens, agnostics, heretics and believers, a Merry Chrismas
My sister in law snapped this classic photo of Bentley ( the look on his face 🐶)one of the Rhodesian Ridgebacks, we brought them down to our beach cottage so they could have Xmas here....its been a bit hectic but worth it so the dogs are with us @Guard Dog I thought you would appreciate this

Wot I bought last - a fool and their money mystary edition
Do you mean the Anniversary edition ? If you only bought the SE edition upgrade it to the Anniversary. Its a small cost and well worth it and includes 500 Creation Club mods built in and then you can add additional Mods. I recommend the Nexus Mod Manager...you cant go wrong But since you investing in this game specifically for Mods the Anniversary edition makes sense

The All Things Political Topic - All people love themselves too much to be changed by something as simple as love.
I spent 5 minutes doing an advanced search and I found the post I was talking about that you made in the 20 June where you suggested I thought BLM was an extremist group, I reread it and I even though I am not 100 % sure I still think that is what you were saying Here is the post and I quoted the part that you linked me to the extremist allegation You said in this post " during the summer your were defending the same argument as putin made at his presser and you don't realize it or are purposeful ignoring. for putin, the denial o' basic freedoms and rights is okie dokie 'cause the people being prevented from running for office or who were detained during the recent widespread protests in russia were affiliated with dangerous extremist organizations. is exact same argument made by barr, trump (and bruce)" You state that Bruce is making the same argument as Barr and Trump that people in BLM who were arrested are affiliated with dangerous, extremist organisations. And I never said that is why people should be arrested, I have always maintained people must be arrested who break the law during any protest. Not because they an extremist group I hope this clears this up?
