  1. just as I thought, an average game costs less then 10% of what is asked for it to develop. I'd rather pay the developers directly and download games from them
  2. I couldn't make heads or tails out of his post, he probably has some good ideas, still he'd be better off posting it in portuguese.
  3. yeah, I guess I do
  4. so, this game will have a 2-player co-op mode? like hot-seat?
  5. you lot are very strange people
  6. they were randomly generated, I wouldn't expect anything else
  7. he's probably too cool. way too cool for my taste. what's the fun in reading about some guy, who can destroy worlds, I will never understand. Drizzt on the other hand is just a drow being, nothing fancy. Salvatore's writing is crap, though. his early books are unreadable, not very good with words he is.
  8. not really relevant, but I've just finished watching Let's Plays for Oblivion and Shivering Isles and I have to say, while Oblivion is a piece of dog poo, Shivering Isles' story is epic. the character of Sheogorath is epic. I'm quite surprised I liked it so much. but of course the quests and dungeons are awful. it would've made a great action/adventure game, though. Bethesda should just absorb Obsidian, give them TES and FO and stick to making smaller, plainer games, preferably TES spin-offs like Redguard
  9. wait, as I understood it, they just removed the possibility to raise stats on level-up, but you have to determine your stats initially.
  10. what do you mean? you can't raise your stats in FO anyway, unless you take a perk or undergo an operation. actually, now that I think about it, it's probably the reason Bethesda removed it from TES. and if you think about if a little more, they'll be better off just incorporating SPECIAL into TES
  11. don't know who this Elric character is, but I don't think it's fair to compare Drizzt and Geralt. they're cool for different reasons.
  12. well, Drizzt is pretty cool, can't deny it
  13. wasn't it strictly rangers in 2E?
  14. ugh, got my hands on the Pool Of Radiance by Stormfront. I loved their Demon Stone so I figured I'd give this D&D game a chance too. although, there's one thing that worries me, is this the game that formats your HDD when you try to uninstall it?
  15. hokay, the system is running flawlessly. the only two modules still not mounted are the TV-tuner and the network card. both are possible reasons (or maybe it was a case of bad RAM all along). anyway, I guess the issue is solved? feel free to close the thread (I hope it's not too early, would suck if the PC just broke down right after I'd written it) EDIT: oooh, post numero 1000! happy milestone to me!
  16. I kinda like his armor, reminds me of Final Fantasy XI, paladins and warriors had one just like that. I do wonder, does "archer" mean he's a rogue?
  17. ok. I believe I've made some progress. took out everything 'cept for the CPU (the MB has an on-board video chipset). cleaned the CMOS. turned it on. beeps again, but I am not sure if it's the same kind of beeps as the last time. so I plugged in a memory plaque, into a slot that has never been used before. and voila! the machine works. checked all three memory modules (they're identical). they all seem to be working. so it's either one of the RAM slots or some other thing (can't be the network card, wouldn't make sense). HDD maybe? we'll see in a couple of minutes
  18. combat is what I love the most about FO2. it's not tactical, and there are plenty of insta-win buttons, but it still clicks
  19. I was going to do exactly that after I had found a way to separate my CPU and the radiator
  20. wow, checked a let's play of the SNES Shadowrun, and it looks completely different. wonder if the story is different also. the SNES version reminds me of Syndicate a lot
  21. i see just gotta figure out what's wrong. is there a way to check the PSU without assembling the whole thing?
  22. I should add that this very same cable caused a problem earlier. same thing happened, I plugged it in with a working PC and my network card got fried. seems there's something wrong with their hardware... actually, some guy did suggest to do this
  23. I removed the cooler, the radiator and the "stone" itself. the radiator needed cleaning and it seemed like a good time to change the thermal paste
  24. it's probab;y a bad idea to post this, because the answer is rather obvious, and the FAQ addresses the issue somewhat. but still, I've searched the internet for answers, and it gives so many, makes my head spin. so I'm hoping there's a tech-wiz among us who can spare his/her time and go through this with me anyway, I was watching a movie. decided to plug in my internet cable, as soon as I did, the machine froze. I rebooted and it wouldn't start up properly. every time I tried rebooting, it'd give me a series of continuous short beeps. the manual says it's a "power error". question: what does this mean? the PSU is dead? it's a Thermaltake 500W Purepower RX. I can't believe this thing died after 3 years of steady work some people say "draining the capacitors" could work, but I have no idea what it means :'( also, some topics I've read suggested it could be a RAM issue. well, like a very smart person that I am I decided to start the diagnostics by removing the CPU... needless to say I tore out the processor along with the radiator because the unit got stuck to the radiator, and I can't pull the processor off. how do I proceed?
  25. gah, and I wanted to tell you how I had the exact same problem and it wasn't the power source
