  1. first off, this doesn't mean I'm going to abandon TOEE, it's just that I have loads of free time, and this one is going to be more like a challenge for me. I tried beating this game twice. first time I made a really bad character, so by the last chapter I was getting owned by pretty much everything. second time all of my saves got corrupted during the last leg of chapter 2. you know, the bugbear caves... now, I installed the game on my two PCs and managed to get a LAN-session going. so, yeah, this is going to be a 2-man party experience. that's right, I'm gonna dual-box through the whole game (if it doesn't break on me again). if you guys are interested in following something like this, I could use some suggestions. we need 2 characters. I don't know if I can hire henchmen in multiplayer games. if not, then these two will have to be the perfect team. for some reason I can't min/max their abilities on creation, it sucks but what can you do... will have to make sacrifices. anyway, waiting for some feed back
  2. this thread is *this* close to becoming epic. and I mean it in a bad way
  3. never liked the original game. but if they nail the survival thing, I'll probably grab it
  4. that's cheating
  5. I'm thinking of dual-boxing through the OC and making a let's play out of it. that is, if NWN can be played over LAN (the same copy).
  6. I'm gonna reroll you today, so I can change that. and your class, if you want to
  7. you know what they say, a proper woman's breast should fit into a man's palm. so, I guess, it all depends on the size of your hand
  8. I was hoping I could sucker you into it, can't stand the game myself and I had very bad experiences with it, but I'd love to see someone else do it
  9. you could start with the original campaign and think about HOTU later I loved HOTU by the way, what about it you don't like?
  10. ahaha does this mean you're perfectly satisfied with your role in the party? by the way, I don't think there's a good neverwinter nights-hordes of underdark screenshot let's play. maybe you'd be willing to do it?
  11. haha, that's a fair argument I wouldn't call Two Worlds 2 an open-world game, though. you have limited access to areas, you get full access only in the last chapter. (well, I haven't tried going everywhere by boat yet, if you can get to the biggest island this way, then I take it back)
  12. GTA IV is my favorite GTA game now for the longest time it has been GTA II, then SA, but IV tops 'em all. it's my fav game of the year
  13. sorry, that's the only thing I'm not changing ooooh, seems I'll have to reroll after all I need 2 Chaotic Good characters for the two swords (Fragarach and Scather). so, if anyone wants anything changed, let me know, might as well remake the whole party
  14. any objections or advice on how I rolled the characters? it's been a long time since I tried playing a D&D game. C's WIS is probably a little low, should I reroll?
  15. the first spot was reserved for Volo, but I couldn't figure out how to make a necromancer so I figured Volo would have to wait 'til the party'd lost someone. and then I recalled some of the earlier fights and realized I have no chances of getting through them without some kind of a tank. please welcome (imagine a boxing-match-type announcer, stretching the vowels in the names): Pidesco a neutral/good human fighter Esco is originally from the world of Athas, nobody knows, how she wound up in Greyhawk. well, the point is, she doesn't really speak common (or whatever language they speak in Greyhawk). so we'll not be hearing much from her next stop, the leader of the band: Lady Crimson a neutral/good dwarven cleric. I picked a dwarf for 2 reasons. first, for the constitution increase. second, because of C's New Vegas character's appearance (hence the avatar). somehow it struck me as a dwarf, if projected onto a fantasy setting C is of a noble origin (naturally), she comes from a long line of knights, she'd undergone the training since she was very young, she was knighted but due to her nature (she's always been drawn to broken down and miserable people), she decided to change her career and become a god's person. she brings justice to the world in the name of Pelor. time to move to the certified tunnel-fighter, the one and only: Monte Carlo a lawful/neutral elven rogue. I made him an elf to keep the party racially diverse. and I remember that he was a thief/fighter in Tig's IWD LP. so, you know, why fix something that isn't broken. Monte's background is a mystery to everybody in the party. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but there's a plot twist coming up. and since we already mentioned him, please welcome the party's heavy artillery: Tigranes a lawful/neutral sorcerer. it's my favorite class from the 3.5 edition, I think it suites Tig perfectly. I also made him a gnome, to have a nice height progression in the party. I like it when things are nice. consequently, Tig's role in the band is to sustain the balance, to keep emotions at bay, he's gonna be the one nice person in the party Tigranes, being very intelligent and charismatic, can resolve any conflict and find an exit out of the most difficult situations. if C is the party's heart, Tig's the reason of the band, helping Lady Crimson keep the team working. her authority is unquestionable. as for the party's muscle... you have probably noticed the trend, so far the party has been girls-only. I apologize to those, whose names I've used to create female characters without making sure it was alright with them first. I wanted to spice up the party, please indulge me in this little weakness (or don't). this is also the reason for the last addition to our band of amazons. Gromnir seriously, was there ever doubt in your mind? a chaotic/neutral half-orc. a machine. I'm not sure I even need to say anything. and I know what you're thinking, this avatar doesn't suit him at all. but I have another two Gromnirs waiting, with higher stats and other, fancier avatars. I want to show how Grommy grows throughout the story so there. I hope I can make this thread at least a little amusing. I've never tried writing a Let's Play before. I can only hope it doesn't turn out boring, or even worse, doesn't turn out anything at all. Anyway, there are a few things that should be mentioned. first, since Grommy is pretty much immortal, he's a permanent fixture in this party. everyone else is subject for replacement if they are to die. also, as of now I'm taking bets on who of the gals will fall for Grommy first. because if Bio has taught us anything, it's that we can't have a fantasy campaign without some wicked romance. besides, he *is* a Bhaal-spawn! who can resist? but really, this game demands some serious getting used to. the interface is horrendous, especially in combat, the radial menu is atrocious. I can't get past the first instance with the spiders in the garden, keep getting my ass handed to me... well, I guess this will make for an interesting experience. but the next update is probably gonna appear on the weekend at the very best. that means we can try and change something, if you guys REALLY want to. so, yeah, let's play Temple of Elemental Evil!
  16. ok, let's see what I can do I won't be playing Ironman, because Co8 says not to. actually, I already rolled the whole party, so I can show them off I didn't want to repeat Night's party, and I didn't want to make you all vote again, so I took the liberty of picking the first team myself. lo and behold. EDIT: gah, I wanted to wait 'til we were on the next page. but I see, that we are still 2 posts away from that, so I'll do it here. by the way, is there a limit on the number of symbols allowed in a post?
  17. I'd advise against buying Two Worlds 2. the second half of the game is awful... I reached the last chapter, before uninstalling it, but should've done it much earlier. imho, of course.
  18. wow, talk about different points of view. I think Obsidian get open-world games like no other developer, NV is a prime example
  19. they can't be getting literally nothing. Josh said that the only time he ever received a royalty check was for Icewind Dale, his very first game I believe. they are contractors, they are paid by the publisher to make the game. I believe in the article the author's point is, the developers should be getting a lot more then they are currently, since they are the ones that do all the heavy lifting.
  20. ghm, I've managed to get the game running (I think), so I'm gonna try to beat it in the next couple of weeks. Night, are you planning on finishing this LP? if not, I could try and take over. I'll be testing the game for the next couple of days, check if the new Circle Of Eight pack is stable and whatnot. also, can't really get used to the combat system. anyway, if you're done with it, I'll try to give this thread a new life
  21. the metacritic part just blew me away, really. I could never have imagined
  22. let's try one more time, my internet is giving me grief today... whadda ya mean? they say the developers gets advances for each milestone, that's the 10% of the box's cost, deducted.
  23. gah, double post here's a nice pic instead:
