  1. LA wants to delay the PC version because Billy paid them big bucks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who knows what the REAL reason behind the delay is, but the official statement will always be something like bugtesting, polishing, jadajadajada.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If that's so you can bet the International PC release date will be pushed back even further because of extra *cough* testing and polishing so that European X-box owners can enjoy an "exlusive" for a few months as well. I'm also willing to bet that the International PC release will be the most bug ridden of them all!
  2. As a sidenote, could someone explain how the US XPox version is different from any other English-speaking-country XPox version? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Different Video output systems NTSC versus PAL and some minor ones meaning the International versions have to be adapted/optimised for these systems.
  3. Well, here is a qoute from LA.com that should clear up ur doubts <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We all know what a perfect record LA has of sticking to the words their marketing department utters, I'll believe it when I see it.
  4. You forgot to add the option: wait until whenever they release the PC version for international users. Let's just say I have my doubts about that.

  6. Great that if that's true it just serves as more proof to back up my theory that the International release for the PC is going to be pushed back even further in order to have it be an X-box exclusive in Europe too for at least a few months. Speaking from across the big pond it would sure be nice if they'd release one of their good titles on this side of the pond first for a change (or at least simultaneously with the US version) to make up for the fact that we get the short end of the stick with almost all releases especially if they're any good. No idea, but I'll bet that once and if they colonize Alpha centauri they'll get their LA games before we in Europe do.
  7. I don't think so because even if I bought an X-Box it wouldn't do me any good because I'm an international user so I can't beat the spoilers either way. While the US may be the single largest market for consoles it sure as hell isn't the only one, Japan the EU and even China I believe are also becoming big markets. What's even worse is that if they're doing it as a favor towards Microsoft you can bet that the International PC releases will be pushed back even further to ensure X-box has an exlusive for a few months in each and every single country. Yeah, that would be nice, however I don't think it's going to happen, they're just going to make a cheap console port.
  8. Well if you want my opinion I'd have to say that the two best ways I know of to let business executives know that you're extremely dissatisfied with their decisions are: 1: Bring up charges in court against the company they work for (nothing gets their attention like a finding a subpoena on their desks in the morning). 2: Buy enough shares to become eligible to attend the shareholders meeting and tell them your grievances right to their face, if you do it convincingly and get enough of the other shareholders to agree with you they will have no choice but to heed your words.
  9. That's why international PC owners are going to get really screwed over because I suspect they won't even begin making these changes to the PC version until februari (in order to give the international X-box at least a month exclusive in Europe too). I still have the good fortune to live in one of the European countries least likely to make a fuss about the ratings (if anything ratings here are downgraded from what they are in the US) however even here I really don't suspect to see KOTOR 2 on store shelves until the beginning of march at the earliest.
  10. I also have to disagree with the idea of it being a "crappy Console port" they wouldn't risk that, and don't forget they (that's u DEVS) will have extra time to make the PC version even better, like it was with KOTOR. Don't let us down devs, please! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With all due respect I have to say I don't share your optimism and I don't think the Developers are going to spend the extra time they have making a nice GUI and inventory system for the PC version, which aside from supporting high-res PC graphics would be the thing that'll be IMO most needed not to make the PC version play and feel like some cheap console port.
  11. Well I think that the PC version most likely will be some crappy console port. What irks me even more then the fact that LA has been misleading us from the start is the fact that even when the PC version releases it probably won't release simultaneously in Europe and the US, so I think the release dates we're looking at here are probably something like this PC release US, Feb 2005, International somewhere between March and May 2005 depending on country of residence. Also the fact that there will be no additional content for the PC really does make the PC release feel like some cheap leftover. I'm feeling very tempted right now to try and see if I can't bring up charges of misleading, commercial advertising with intent to deceive before the Court of Justice of the European Communities against Lucas Arts Europe.
  12. Will there be any Selkath in the game?
  13. Consular, I like force powers, lvl 18 consular is the only way to go IMO.
  14. About the whole stronger then Revan thingy, I don't think our new PC was stronger then Revan during the Mandalorian wars but there's no reason why they might not discover some hidden talent and become stronger in the force then was Revan eventually. But remeber that strenth is not only about who's the most powerful in the force it's also about how you develop that talent and apply that knowledge (eg. while Anakin/Darth Vader might have been the strongest Jedi/Sith in history the Emperor always was more powerful). And then there's also the other side of strength that has nothing to do with force ability and everything with force of personality and that is the one area where I don't think our new PC can ever hope to beat Revan. I detect a plot angle for KOTOR 3 coming up here (albeit a fairly lame one).
  15. Maybe but I was just making a very wild and probably terribly inaccurate guess here, however it would be cool IMHO if one of your party members is actually a spy for or one of the bad guys, of course it's very unlikely he would be the big baddie himself.
  16. What about the Masked Sith guy travelling with you at least for a short time (in order to size you up threat wise and think of a plan to kill you) or maybe use you and manipulate you to conveniently take out the competition.
  17. Actually unmanned ships would have an advantage over manned ones in that you could use the space otherwise used for accomodating the crew for things like more powerful weapons, engines or shields instead.
  18. Revan at the end is practically a god with a lightsaber, I don't think many people are powerful enough to block Revan from the force without killing him/her outright. Besides I've always found the blocking someone from the force totally to be a weak plot device and inconsistent with what we know about the force. The only two things that could IMO realistically be used to block someone from the force or to reduce or eliminate his/her ability to weild it (other than slaying them outright) would be to either take away his/her memory and thus the learned skills required to manipulate the force in the way the Jedi, Sith and other force adepts do is to somehow take away or block acces to the their memory or at least the part where the force skills are stored (this is what happened to Revan in KOTOR 1) or if you're buying into the whole midi-chlorian thingy you could have a scientific method to remove the midi-chlorians from their body/soul or reduce them to a level where it would effectively be impossible for them to call upon the force in the way most Jedi do. The problem with method 2 the way I see it is that it would most likely be an irreversible procedure, because if it could be done in the reverse way I suspect many high ranking Senators and politicians and businessmen would gladly pay to have their midi-chlorian count boosted artificially. Finally using method one on Revan again would have been really, really lame IMHO, the poor guy/girl has suffered enough for one lifetime methinks.
  19. Advances in sensor technology have probably rendered them largely obsolete over the course of 4000 years.
  20. As long as the game doesn't force you to be a specific class (especially not soldier or another pure combat class) other then you being a non force sensitive I'd be all for it, essentially I'd agree with our esteemed mistress of Fanfiction that such a game would be an excellent opportunity to bring back some of the mystique surrounding the jedi, the Sith and the force and its users in general. If they make such a game however I hope they make it so that your character can have different backgrounds and side quests depending on your class and also have the option to avoid combat and solve the problem in some other fashion in 90% of the cases through good role playing, because only then would it be viable to play the less combat/survival oriented classes such as scoundrel, tech-specialist and of course my personal SW favorite (aside from jedi Consular) the Noble.
  21. Jedi Consular/ Jedi Master. I really like force powers, particularly the ones used to mess with the minds of other people.
  22. In Kotor 1, scout definately in the real D20 version I'd have to say Noble.
  23. Vrook, second only to my interpretation of lightside male Revan, however I don't think it's right to vote for the PC in a poll such as this one since everyone plays Revan differently. But of all the other lightside Jedi I also liked Vrook best I was rather hoping to see Vrook near the end and I think it would have been nice if it had been master Vrook instead of Vandar up there in the ending sequences with the Admiral. Besides he also had one of the best if not the best voice overs in game.
  24. Attention jealous desingers now's your time to steal the spotlight!
  25. No Dustil option because I certanly liked him way more than his father.
