First of all, I understand that, for whatever reasons, you dislike the game. Okay. I just want to clarify that they've already explained many times why they don't let you play after the main quest is over. I personally don't understand why this is such a big deal. As for Obsidian needing to "gtfo Bethesda's way", I think you should know that it's Bethesda who contracted Obsidian to make New Vegas for them. That basically means Bethesda chose to have Obsidian "in their way".

And you can continue after you take control of your character. Every time someone in the game says "Jeyne Kassynder", everyone takes a shot. Her name is said so many times in the game, and she's rarely referred to as "her" or just "Jeyne" from what I've seen. It's always her full name. So this is indeed drinking game material.

I've only spent $6.79 on NWN2 as a gift to a friend, heh And somebody gifted me Just Cause 2.

I fail to believe that people downloading Steam games, even if thousands people are downloading them, would affect my CPU usage while playing Dungeon Siege III. I also don't believe for a moment that buying a new CPU is the solution to my problems. I don't think any of us can afford (or even would be willing to, if they could) buying new parts every time we come across a software issue. My processor is outdated at this point, but it remains a great processor that has thus far fulfilled all my needs, gaming or otherwise. And the tone of your post is completely unwarranted. No one here has given you any reason to write such a disrespectful post, in which you also don't provide any useful information whatsoever. Now hopefully we can move on and continue talking about this issue.

It's pretty fast here. Also I've tried doing everything you guys suggested and it doesn't work. I can deal with this, I mean, the game runs well. I wish CPU usage would drop when I minimize the game though.

Ending the Steam process lowers the CPU usage to about 50%, but the game doesn't work anymore afterwards.

Lowering the DS3 process to low did not make any difference.

I have posted this in the wrong forum. Sorry guys. It seems I got used to having only a single subforum for DS3. Pretty sure this is unnecessary, especially when the game is minimized. I'm fine with it using 100% of the processor and I'm glad it runs so well here, but when I minimize the game I'd expect the CPU usage to lower. The same happens even in the menu. Clearly something is not right. Any thoughts? I think this is something that should be fixed. EDIT: I can confirm that the CPU usage is always 100% even when everything is set to the lowest possible settings. Minimized or not, maxed or not, 100% usage on all cores. After the game is closed:

You mean the 'bunny hop with trash on the beach' antlion level, or the beginning of Nova Prospekt?If the former, that game has driven you mad. Maaaaaaad. I would stab that level in the eye if I could. I have never met a person that liked that level. Considering all the developer commentary about changing things around because of player reactions it makes you wonder how the hell that section made it through intact. Tbh I'm fond of it for some reason. I also like Water Hazard and Highway 17.

I'm guessing since the game uses Steamworks, this is a Steam thing to deal with. It does offer the option to block your friend, though.

My PC is like 3 years old. Either way, ****ty sound card/mobo or not, this issue is not common. I miss out on a lot of advantages of much better sound cards, but at least there are no problems. I hope there is a way to fix this.

If I ever get a new computer, then I might get a good sound card with it.
