Azdeus, make sure they aren't just victims of budget cuts, using the same x-ray since November for all patients.

The x-rays were dated and I saw them side by side so there were minor differences in angle. And, while they are victims of budget cuts, it manifests in lengthy queues for non-emergency surgeries. Which means that I'll likely have to wait a loooong time for surgery

Why is it still broken since early November?

    Excellent question! 😂

The doc is going to talk to a specialist and then get back to me, even though I was curious they have a tonne of work so I didn't ask many questions. The xray I saw it looked like the two pieces hadn't touched and healed together but went their separate ways. I'll be asking more over the phone when they call.

I have to admit I am impressed by the sheer amount of work that went into the three minute presentation of Ireland's entry. Love or hate the song (one can certainly do both at the same time!), the perfomance is mesmerizing.

Croatias song was a bit of a banger, but I really love Rammstein so I'm definetly biased 😄

About the petition, it was initiated due to Ubisoft pulling The Crew, which had a single-player yet server-reliant mode, from the players' libraries. It is not the first time they are doing this, but before that it was "just" DLC for the older AC games. I would strongly prefer the publishers to be legally encouraged to respect their customers purchases. If the publishers in their wisdom, made the DRM in a single-player game to rely on the servers, surely they can spend work-hours on untangling the dependency. The smaller developers are usually nice enough not to try doing this.

I actually forgot that I even owned The Crew, I guess that it's been a while since I used Ubisofts launcher. I hope that the campaign gets some traction, there are active petitions going on now in the UK, Australia and Canada while there is a lawsuit going on in Brazil. I'm hoping to hear about options in the EU as Swedish authorities are useless here.

True, but the rootkit is less noticeable for an average user, while the game, as I understand, is online-only either way.

It's very much so, I'm just extra grumpy because my friends went and bought the game even though I told them about the rootkit, but now all of a sudden they care about security breaches and inconveniences. :)

Something like a LG UltraGear OLED 27GS95QE-B, but probably not before summer, unless the problem's not the cable and the screen dies before that. :)

I love my OLED, though I was unpleasantly surprised that it pops up a pixel refresh window in my face every few hours.

Only cpu''s I've been familiar with since the Motorola 68040? 🤷‍♂️

Price and overclocking isn't a consideration, so generally in the past, I looked at compatibility and stability (and at some point in the past, years ago, AMD struggled with those, if only for a few years). So I stuck with what I was familiar with. Also why I went for Gigabyte, bad experiences with ASUS, good experiences with Gigabyte, so it's what I go for gravitate towards.

    Hahaha! 😄

It might be worth reconsidering that, you ought to look at some reviews. AMD is pretty amazing nowadays, while Intel has some issues being power hungry and hot. Gamers Nexus has a pretty decent video from a couple of months ago, with timestamps to save you time.

Slowly putting together a new PC. Not that my old one is "outdated", as much as it has developed quirks and occasionally refuse to boot up. Even if trying to boot from a USB stick. Got some new SSD drives (4tb) and a Gigabyte motherboard. I'm going to reuse my old case, PSU, existing drives (and my Windows), soundcard and graphics card (none of which are in any way state of the art). The two things I still need is a CPU (getting the Intel I7 20 core cpu of some variety) and some RAM (getting 64gb of Corsair ram). All in all, it will have cost me about $2400 AUD including additonal SSD's (roughly $1500 USD)

Edit: I really haven't had much joy out of Asus cards over the years, be they gfx or motherboards :(

Out of curiosity, why the intel cpu?

I dont mind needles at all. I actually like to watch the blood draw. Nowadays she used a single needle attached to a hose and then a clear tube. She drew three vials by just inserting the vial into the tube, filling it, then taking it out and putting the next one in. So you only get stuck once.

We've been using "butterflies" for years (I seem to remember nurses using it in the 90s when I was hospitalized), but I still can't stand it, the feeling of the needle is enough to set me off. I can still take a prick though. :shifty:

I had my annual physical last week and everything is looking good. I was even able to lower my cholesterol by 24 points by altering my diet and exercising. And fish oil, a whopper of a fish oil pill every day. Im also happy to report, that after ~7000-9000 years of human society, the finger is no longer the best tool in our toolbox to check the prostate gland. That test has been completely abolished and replaced with a blood test. HUZZAH! Now just to mail them back a box of poop and I can forget about it all for the next three years.

Ick. I'll take the finger. No, the whole hand, rather than the needle 🤢

  11. I've gotta kidnap this thread for a bit, because I can't figure out where to whinge about this where noone but Gorth will hear it 😄

Leman Russ went from the Chapter Master of the 4th founding chapter Space Wolves who had to be fitted with a cybernetic breathing apparatus after his lungs were damaged by acid and who wrote the Codex Astartes to a First Founding Primarch who had perfectly functioning lungs and opposed the Codex Astartes.

The Emperor went from being entombed on the throne due to old age and the burden of running the Imperium to the whole Horus story. In addition, early works implied he still gave orders from the throne.

Orks went from being marsupials who reproduced with pouches at the end of their life cycle to fungus who reproduced through spores.

Daemon Princes went from being stronger than Greater Daemons to weaker than them. I dunno why it was changed like that to be honest.

Squats went from being vassal client states of the Imperium in Rogue Trader to being a seperate empire allied with the Imperium in 2nd Edition to being eaten by Tyranids to being alive again but not aligned with the Imperium at all.

Tyranids were slavers who enslaved multiple species, most notably Zoats. They were presented as less an all-consuming horde of beasts and more an evil but functional alien society reliant on biotech.

The Black Rage originally came from the Blood Angels using the corpse of Sanguinius as a source of geneseed when recovering from their losses during the Horus Heresy and thus having their geneseed contaminated with his genetic memory of his death. Now its pretty much established as a purely psychic curse.

Grey Knights went from having almost no psykers in their ranks to consisting entirely of Psykers.

The Black Legion went from a small but extremely veteran group with mysterious, unknown motivations to by far the largest Traitor Legion and being pretty open about their plans to destroy the Imperium with the Black Crusades.

Fulgrim went from trying to arrest Horus at Isstvaan only to be seduced by the pleasures of Slaanesh during a negotiation to being corrupted by a daemon sword.

The basic Thousand Sons marine went from being a regular Space Marine whose armour was covered in arcane glyphs so he could act as a source of power for the Sorcerers he served into a mindless automaton who is nothing but dust in an armour.

+add new; The Custodes now has Muscle Mommies.

On the bright side, I didn't see a single stupid ***hole with a laser sword in the entire trailer. I'm not naive enough to think that they could make an entire Star Wars game without any stupid ***holes with laser swords showing up, but at least there's hope that they will keep the stupid ***holes with laser swords to a minimum.

Out of curiosity, as a guy whose inner Star Wars fan died a long time ago (in this specific galaxy), does nostalgia bait still work on Star Wars fans (we have some here, right?)? It hasn't on me in decades. Like, do y'all still instantly splooge in your pants when you catch a glimpse of a star destroyer?

No sense of nostalgia surfaced during that trailer at the very least, barely a mild curiosity, but a Star Wars game from Ubisoft sounds like a nightmare come true, even though the premise is likeable.

Edit; Oh, wow, skeezy ubi**** is literally paywalling exclusive content to be released at launch, at a 110usd, **** 'em

So far so good. The negative reviews are as expected. Just a bit weird that the majority is in cyrillic. 🤔 But oh well, so far so good.

I haven't tried the campaign itself yet, but that Veles rifle popped up in my Antistasi play and it slaps. What scope is it meant to be paired with though?
