with the advancement of the infection and infected bugs after turning off the haze, it would be really nice to have a set of armor that used the infected fungus as a crafting material. each piece could add some resistance to fungal attacks from infected insects with a full set giving near, or full, immunity to fungal explosions and the set bonus adds an small scale explosion when you critically hit with a weapon? it could be a tier two light armor with medium defense. i'm not thinking it should compete with the higher defense armor, mainly something to farm infected insects with. plus i think a set of armor made with the fungal infection could look cool. just brain storming here lol.

suggestion Infectious Flower
Johnny Wirick replied to CentiSouls's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
interestingly enough, there is a locked base in the east rock wall near the wood garden barrier that has a berry with teeth in a specimen container. you have to use a program to cheese your way in right now, but maybe you are on to something with that theory. -
nothing major, just an aesthetic thing. but i noticed that the rope on the spinning wheel doesn't move with the rest of the parts. and that's odd, since the movement of the rope is what would be causing the wheel and spindle to turn. mainly the spindle. nothing major, and i'm not asking to prioritize it over actual game effecting bugs, but it would be nice to see the rope move in time with the wheel and spindle.

Review of a returning player
Johnny Wirick replied to Johnathan Noone's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
there is a wolf spider that sleeps under a leaf next to the right of the oak tree base entrance. make a bow and arrows and you can shoot at it while standing one one of the roots. it will take a lot of arrows, but it can be done. when you kill five wolf spiders you will get a mutation that makes you immune to poison. lady bugs are strong against the rapier and arrows, but week against hammers/clubs or smashing damage. a weevil shield will block attacks completely, unlike two handed weapons. it's better to focus on getting the ladybug armor for the extra defense before trying to fight the spiders one on one. and even then you should go for the orb weavers before you try taking on the wolf spiders full on. you can also focus on killing smaller bugs to get and build up weapon specific mutations first. like the two handed barbarian mutation. you should look up the location of the four leaf clover to get the lucky mutation for extra crit chance. or work your way on to the picnic table. there is a d20 game dice that gives you the luck mutation when you hit it with a hammer till it rolls a 20. and if the red ant armor has more defense than the grub armor you should work on getting that. ant's are weak to swords so you should be able to take them out easily enough with the rapier and blade master mutation, and it's life steal will help to kill the solder ants. and you really should start building a base. i recommend on one of the lily pads in the pond, as no bugs can get to it to harass you or steal food out of your storage containers. i hope this helps. and i don't play on xbox, but if there is the debug options in the game menu too, you should do the "fix bug locations" option each time you start or load a save game. it makes the bugs a bit more predictable like ensuring the wolf spiders aren't roaming around during the day. -
Saved game options ( PC )
Johnny Wirick replied to Ix FaceLess xI's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
if you have grounded through xbox games pass then the save folder is locked behind a windows app folder. one of the things i don't really like about the game pass app. there is an option in the save menu to export your saves though. you could try that and have your friend put it in the same folder path that it exports to on their computer and it might load them up on their computer. but then you would have to keep passing the saves back and forth, other wise it's like creating a branching timeline. -
need more antlion parts.

i do understand that. and that's why i also suggested increasing the drop chance for the mandibles. i shouldn't have to clear the sand box twice for it. and i still think some more consistency between crafting cost and the look of item models should be considered. like the black ant armor with it's thorns damage set buff should have more spikes than the red ant armor. the black ant shovel should have some mandible parts added to it's model to properly justify the need for mandibles, beyond just making it harder to get because it's a tier two item. -
let us build on the sand box.

lol never said that cheesing it wasn't possible. but i believe that all assets created should just be built with the assumption that players will want to build on it. base building is a core aspect of the game and i shouldn't even have to ask to be able to build on the surface of the sandbox. it should be a rule of their asset creation. it should have just been there. -
either reduce the amount of mandibles for the great sword from seven, or increase the chance of getting mandibles. killed 4 antlions and not one mandible. why is it seven anyway? because the sword has seven spikes? if that's the case, then why does the black ant shovel require any black ant mandibles when the model itself has none on it? please be consistent.

it is intended. turning off the haze causes the infected insects and fungus to spread. i saw a video that show fungal growth under the tree where the wolf spiders live. it's probably going to be part of the story as i think the scientist that created the infected fungus cracked the haze cannister to keep his mistake from spreading. in a later update we may find a way to out right cure the infection.

the dandelion tuft HUD icon keeps disappearing from the screen. and because of this, the tuft doesn't always work when i need it to and i die from a long fall because the game is acting like i don't have it equipped. un-equipping and re-equipping it fixes it, but it's only temporary and disappears again after a while. this has been happening since before the "shroom and gloom" update and i'm a bit disappointed that it's still not fixed.

what do you mean by "clearing your space"? you.. you aren't building your base at ground level, are you? that's madness lol. that's where the monsters are lol. all my bases are above the grass line lol. i too made a post about the mushroom doors moving on their own lol. only a slight annoyance for me, but i hope they fix it all the same. thankfully i have not experienced the deteriorating armor bug....yet. and here's my contribution to the lists: the dandelion tuft HUD icon keeps disappearing from the screen. and because of this, the tuft doesn't always work when i need it to and i die from a long fall. un-equipping and re-equipping it fixes it, but it's only temporary and disappears again after a while. this has been happening since before the "shroom and gloom" update and i'm a bit disappointed that it's still have not fixed it.

Grounded Bugs (Ant Spawning!)
Johnny Wirick replied to Nakk's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
lol i do fix the bug locations every time i start the game. it makes the wolf spiders more predictable and i don't have to worry about being surprised by them lol. -
you can get back out. i went exploring up there at one point. i think those big leafed ground level plants that are by the roses would be good for boats. it's one of the few plants we can't cut down or do anything with so i think a boat would be perfect.

i've been growing a lot of them for railings and sap lights. and i've been noticing that, if i go a couple in game days with out picking them, the single sprigs in the plots are just gone. the sprig clusters are still there, but the singles are gone. and if one of my plots had no sprigs go "green thumb" then the plot is just empty. not sure about anything else, as i've not grown anything but sprigs since the recent patch yesterday. but it shouldn't matter how long it takes before i decide to harvest them, i'm pretty sure none of the sprigs should disappear.

not sure if there is a "set position" programed into the door, but its annoying. the way my base is i like to have the door swung inward, but i'm constantly coming back to my base after a day of exploring around to find it has swung it's self outward. why is this happening? it should just stay in the last position i left it and not move unless i move it.

A few of my ideas for Grounded.
Johnny Wirick replied to Zach Green's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
that's what the ziplines are for. -
there is a lovely shelf on it that would be perfect to build a base on, but the whole thing is an invalid surface? that makes no sense. please allow us to build on the sand box.

hedge maze, good bye grounded
Johnny Wirick replied to Gramr's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
maze? convoluted? 2 weeks!? i found the path rather intuitive and easy to follow. there is also a branch that extends over to the bird bath that takes you right to the Frisbee in the hedge. you could also just build a set of stairs up to the top of the hedge and run over to the gap where the frisbee is and jump down onto it. and it's a hedge. why would the path be straight forward? sorry you are quitting over something like this.
