11.4 update kinda sucks!!!!

that's funny lol. -
lure trap should last indefinitely.

having them disappear after eight minutes is just a bad choice. there is no reason for them to not last until destroyed by an insect. -
new update for 11/08/21
Johnny Wirick replied to justincampos1992's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
i have not played with a friend since before the 11.4 patch, so i can't say for certain, but it sounds kind of like a connection issue that's causing lag and your games aren't syncing up properly. are you hosting the game or is your friend. i'm assuming both of your games are up to date? you say it started after the update, so it could be that one of the fixes to issues regarding multiplayer broke something else. -
Do you think we can go inside?
Johnny Wirick replied to Zabasin's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
i hope so. but i'm pretty sure that won't happen until the yard is complete. we still have an area of the east yard that's not finished. the pond isn't fully complete, and the north yard has nothing but grass and the unfinished shed. that could easily be another year away, but i look forward to it. i feel like a rat would be too much lol. maybe a small mouse. -

Raw Science tainted mobs
Johnny Wirick replied to ScritchOwl's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
i watched a video of someone showing off the assets that are in an admin build of the game, and there are shiny ant parts. so they are looking at rarer variations of current insects. you might be on to something there lol. -
i do like the idea of more apex predator's. in their feature board section of the web site, they list "bird improvements/additional interactions" as planned. maybe it will start trying to eat us lol. https://grounded.obsidian.net/feature-board there are areas where clean water, or any water, isn't easily accessible. like the hedge, sand box, pond lab, and black ant hill. those areas can take some time to finish so, if you don't have a filled canteen with you, you can run the risk of dehydrating. eating bug jerky also increases thirst. i think higher game difficulties cause hunger and thirst to go down faster. you could try playing on one of those. i think there needs to be more aggressiveness between bugs. the spiders don't really attack other bugs unless that bug accidentally attacks it in it's pursuit of a smaller bug. the orb weaver only attacks bugs that are caught in their webs, but ignore them if they are not. i would like to see the wolf spider actively attack other insects without being provoked first. i'm personally fine with the areas the wolf spiders patrol when active at night. and yes, i do think you are lucky to not have bumped into one at night yet lol. but i do agree that one or two more nocturnal predators could help mix it up a bit. my game has ziplines all over the place, so i never have to touch the ground at night to travel anyway lol.

there is a milk molar scanner that can be bought from burgl. not sure if it comes from a chip or if he just has it to buy. edit: i just checked and it comes from the picnic table burgl chip. i do like the idea of collecting paint to be used. they could change a couple of the cans to blue and yellow for mixing colors.

Infected Ladybug issue
Johnny Wirick replied to LDragon2000's topic in Grounded: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
have you tried using the "fix creature locations" in the debug menu option in the main menu? -
the mint mace comes from the sand box burgle chip now. if you didn't get the recipe by scanning a mint chunk before the change, then you have to get it from the burgle chip. you gain access to the sand box lab by defeating the mini boss at the end of the black ant hill dungeon for it's access card. can you give a screen shot example from your inventory only? you don't have access to the hot bar when opening a storage container. double check that the game did update to 11.4, as they added a fix to the hot bar concerning multiplayer. Hotpouch no longer sometimes stops working for clients until they first die after joining a multiplayer game.

Johnny Wirick replied to justincampos1992's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
odd. the patch specifically had a fix to items disappearing from the hot bar. and are you taking more than a day to use the grass you cut down? they shortened the de-spawn time from three days to one in order to fix a memory issue that was causing peoples games to crash. use the grass pallets to store grass and keep it from de-spawning. -
11.4 update kinda sucks!!!!
Johnny Wirick replied to Mark_Vince's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
they did adjust the ant spawns. they no longer lay as many eggs, which is where the ants come from. try killing some of them off? maybe you just need more memory? and yes, grass pallets are what you need to store grass with out it de-spawning. it's always been that way. just make multiple pallets so you can store more grass. whether it is one day or three days for them to de-spawn, i always stored them in pallets so they wouldn't de-spawn. they made the change to it because having to many loose planks around the yard was causing memory issues for people, which was crashing their games. it's odd that you are having issues with the ant spawns but not having a bunch of loose grass planks, since both had to do with memory issues. i've not seen any flying spiders lol. but i also use the "fix creature location" fix in the debug menu when i load a game. so /shrug. probably helps with the "too many ants" problem as well. -
there was a recent youtube video by Sir Sim-Alot that shows the admin build and what could potentially be in later updates. there are leech parts, and also cattail fluff. that could be used for warm clothes in the game files, implying a cold area could be coming. so we maybe getting those suggestions at some point. the hydras barbs could be used for a harpoon gun. i believe there used to be a harpoon gun in the game files at one point too.

i think they just need to make the spiders more aggressive to other insects. right now, the orb and wolf spiders ignore the ants unless one hit's the spider while trying to kill a weevil or aphid.

suggestion Haze comes back
Johnny Wirick replied to CentiSouls's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
the yard was dangerous enough before the fungus and infected insects could spread. i don't know if having the haze spreading too would be a good thing. and i'm not totally sure about this, but i think turning off the haze is part of the overall story of the game. -
Biomes and Creatures
Johnny Wirick replied to DUDEmanhunts's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
lol we already have those. what do you think we carry our stuff in? it's what you drop when you die. i know this post is from july, but i'm pretty sure we had backpacks back then. -
that's why i have multiple small camp site all over the yard with dew collectors and acorn water barrels. that way there's always some where close. i also have 2 of the upgraded canteens that hold four servings with me. might make a couple more because the heat of the sandbox makes your thirst level drop a bit faster. there is also the dew drops that can be found on some grass stalks. and with the addition of the milk molar upgrading, you can slow the burn rate of your thirst so you don't need to drink as often.

we need these. that is all.

even if it's just a "tier two" poison that's more effective than the current one would be nice. not sure if the brood mothers venom already counts as such though.
