Black Ant Armor needs a new look
Johnny Wirick replied to Johnny Blood's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
agree. i also think it needs to be more spiky to fit it's thorns damage set buff. -
you still get the updates with game pass. there is no full version yet as it is still in development and you play as they update the game. and as far as i know your saved games are kept. buying the game is just so you can still play it even if you aren't paying for the xbox game pass. it is also possible to export a save game file from the saved game menu. the updates are also added fairly seamlessly. unless you had a base that was built in an area that gets altered drastically in an update, you should be fine to continue a save after an update.

maybe they should give them a weakness to arrows. that way you could pick them off before they notice you and run off. DEFINITLY need to add more of them around the yard. saw a suggestion that they could also be used to make a new tier of running shoes to replace the aphid slippers.

i think the chunks now make 6 slurries per chunk and it's its own option in the menu. you may need to scan the chunks at a field station to get the 6 slurry option.

Suggestions after finishing Hot and Hazy content
Johnny Wirick replied to Macen's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
i think the infected spider takes on the weakness of infected insects. so spicy is probably no longer good against it and you should be using something minty. -
there is a shocking scarcity of meat in the upper yard in the ptr. need more weevils, aphids, and grubs up there because as it is i have to leave the upper yard in order to farm meat. also need more base meat types. it's lame that most insects can be eaten... but only if cooked into a meal. they should all drop some chunk of meat that can be dried or roasted.

for some reason i am not able to post a topic in the ptr bug forums to report a bug so i'll do it here. i am stuck in the field station on the chopping block by the wood pile. i am not even touching the chair or table but i cannot walk to leave and i am also stuck in the crouching position and can un-crouch. i can simply die and go relcaim my back pack, but i shouldn't be getting stuck in the first place. https://i.imgur.com/kMp0CUp.png

well they did nerf the antlion sword in the ptr. right now it does less damage at lvl 9 than it did at lvl 7 in the hot and hazy update and is even more expensive to upgrade. something this poll clearly shows that players don't want, but they did it anyway.
-
i'm hoping this get's adjusted because right now it's not a good feel. with the next update most weapons are nerfed while their upgrade costs are increased with no pay off in the end. a lvl 9 antlion sword in the next update does less damage and is slower than a lvl 7 antlion sword in the hot and hazy. really? i kind of get the nerfs, but not the increase in material grind for upgrades and i feel the new max weapon lvl should make the weapon stronger than it previously was. we will be getting insulating gear at some point. perhaps building a base where it's cold and storing food there will help preserve it longer.

Hang Glider instead of Glider
Johnny Wirick replied to Wolf77's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
there was at one point some ladybug wings found in the games data. so it seems they are looking into other kinds of gliders. -
hmm i kind of like it, but then i kind of don't. the idea of sleeping 8 hours with a cd is interesting if i was interested in doing a lot of night farming, but it needs some adjustment. as it is right now, i can go to bed while dark and wake up while it's dark. i preferred just going to bed and waking up with the sun. keep the 8 hour sleep but, when it is deemed "nighttime" by the game as indicated by the scab.e, you will sleep until morning. or just do like skyrim and let us choose the amount of time we would like to sleep. 4-10 hour range.

EDIT: lol ok i think i see what is going on here. went to kill the sickly one and low and behold it dropped regular rolly parts instead of sickly. they are phasing out the sickly parts and i just happen to have "legacy" older parts and gear lol. not sure if they will retroactively change the parts and gear i have or not. if not i'll keep the old set on a mannequin. right now though that means that my sickly armor is broke and i can't fix it lol. i'll leave this post for the giggles of others. on the ptr there is now only "rolly polly" armor. they nerfed the defense on the previous sickly rolly polly armor and the sickly armor can no longer be crafted. the only thing to do with sickly rolly polly parts is to repair the sickly armor, if you had it before the update. so with not being able to make the sickly armor anymore, why do we still have the sickly bugs? if someone starts a new game they will get sickly rolly polly parts that will have absolutely no use as they cannot make the armor that uses the parts for repair. you might as well remove the sickly rolly polly from the game. there is no reason to kill it anymore. my idea? keep the old rolly polly armor in game in order to continually justify the existence of the sickly rolly polly, and just have the non sick rolly polly armor be an upgrade you craft.

i'd say try and load up the game and see how it goes first. some would say start a new game, but i've only seen stuff break if you have your base built in an area that got a massive update. if not there is a fair chance that you can just continue an old save with little to no problems. /shrug. i keep playing on my save after updates and i've had no issues.

Weapon upgrades
Johnny Wirick replied to MrSeriouscat's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
not a bad idea for tools. the other damage types are really only if you are attacking insects. but i think that you still get increased durability with the "elemental" damage types. it even gives you a bit of general damage too, just not as much as mighty does. but it's good to have a few weapon/upgrade combos with you, just to be ready for anything. -
Personal suggestions

that's just a half grass floor. walls have a snap point in the middle. just select a half floor and move the blue print up the wall. -

here's some screen shots of how to add icons to storage chests. open storage select "icon customizer" at the bottom. select icon and color -

you can set an icon to the chests to mark them. just open the chest and use LT (left trigger) to open the icon menu. i think they are planning on an upgrade using clovers. and there is a possibility we will get insect wings to use as gliders. all of your suggestions are great. especially a backpack upgrade, mounts, telescope, and storage sorting. -
did you do the fix creature locations from the game preview debug list in the menu? it helps fix their spawns. and you need to go higher than the mushrooms. like waaaaay higher. my stairs start on top of the first garden log thing and, even if i forget to use the location fix, i've never had a wolf spider spawn up there. like i said, the further away you start your stairs, the higher up the tree you will get.
