  1. What's the change, exactly? Subscribers level faster than before or non-subs level slower? I actually had some problems hitting recommended level with my imperial agent, mostly because I found the maturity level of imperial players on my server seriously lacking and thus only did the solo content. Which is why I got fed up when I got to belsavis.
  2. :D After the episode at the uni, that might be a fairly fitting descriptor. Had lunch with a cutie who used to stop by here at the office every now and then but moved jobs and no longer does... Was telling her about the atmosphere here and her immediate reaction was "do you have a lot of women working there?". She moved from the "mild interest" category to the "extreme interest" one. :D
  3. Problem is, I work almost exclusively with women. But no, really, I*m a kind of easy-going guy (well, at work anyway, I obviously have my GNN moments which I try to channel elsewhere) which always results in uptight women thinking that I'm slacking, when I'm just using my energy efficiently.
  4. No, they didn't change it, you just wrote it in a way that suggested to me that you thought it was automatic and not a possible outcome based on variables.
  5. But otherwise your ok, right? edit: on a personal note: am having a Nepenthe moment in regards to university and final papers... What's that, a meltdown? :D Decided over the weekend to stay here in my current workplace until the end of June instead of going with another temporary contract elsewhere. Immediately have had the ~4 worst days of my time here. It's like they hate me, but don't have anyone else to do the job. Which could very well be true.
  6. (Republic) Taris and Alderaan (for both sides) are the two planets that created that sensation in me.
  7. Yeah, I played most of the endgame planets together with a friend I made on Hoth, and it was awesome. Going back to soloing after that (I think he moved on to guild wars2) was colossally boring - and most of my gaming friends just hammered the game to 50 and then moved on to the next big shiny thing while my main was still in his 20s.
  8. I imagine it would be even harder without the internet. Apparently my long-term skin issues seem to be improving, and there are hopes I might be rid of them fully. The nice part in that is that I could probably start hitting the pool for workouts again if it won't feel like molten lava due to the chlorine, and that would work wonders on my sex appeal. Also, one of those 5 hours of meetings in a row and then supposed to start work for real. Like **** I will. :D
  9. I'm on red eclipse. I think, I haven't been in for some weeks, real life's been hell. Gonna try to finish my second storyline at some point.
  10. I once read some type of article on "helpful advice to an aspiring gentleman". The only item from the list I remember was that when somebody mentions either "tequila" or "challenge" at a bar, leave immediately. Edit: I think it was the two together. So that margarita bucket I'm having when I leave is still ok, right?!
  11. Ouch Nep, doesn't sound like a fun fulled few days I recommend a few, friendly Tequila's to sooth away that frustration Yeah, which shows in the post I wrote. The best friend part alluded to the fact that she probably knows more "secrets" about me than anyone else, and in spite of the fact that she epically dumped me, she's basically the one person I feel comfortable talking to about everything. So, I hope I'll be able to focus more on that part and less on the loss and lust I feel now that we only meet rarely. I've still got that 18yo bruichladdich bottle going, I've been slacking. Probably going to sample some when I get home from work. Of course booze + headache = more headache.
  12. Had a drink with the ex yesterday while she was in town. It's like taking drugs, an instant high followed by a down period. She used to be my best friend, I'm hoping that I'll get desensitised if we meet more regularly and talk just about work and her kid. Also, canceled the application to another (temporary) job I had going, decided that I'd rather stay here until June than switch jobs to something that would last until the end of August. Have had two really bad days at work right after. The two resulted in me having highly realistic dreams about my teeth falling off, a non-existent night's sleep and a splitting headache at work today.
  13. Good analysis. I don't agree with it fully, but still a thumb up.
  14. They've shown no signs of slowing their patching, so I'm sure even the minor issues will be gone by then. Too bad they'll never get any credit for exceptional performance on this department in any reviews.
  15. Eh, it's just that whenever there's a pc exclusive release it gets labeled as "buggy" because a larger percentage of people try to run it on bad hardware and drivers. I haven't played too much yet (half a day), but so far it's been both rock-solid and greatly improved over the default version. I haven't played tutu bg1, but I imagine I'd find myself missing at least the zoom now that I've gotten used to it. I personally haven't seen anything that I could describe as "screwed up" and since most of the complaints I'm seeing appear intent on building a mountain out of a molehill, I have serious doubts whether actual problems exist. Well, apart from the lack of a movie in the end, I guess. That's screwed up, and something they better fix.
  16. How is it controlled, then? There suddenly been an influx of linux software I've missed?
  17. o_O Mansell has one song credited entirely to him (Leaving Earth) and one to him and Sam Hulick (An End, Once and For All). All the rest of the music was done by somebody else (though I'm not sure about the track that plays during the nightmare sequences, I don't think it's on the soundtracks and thus isn't credited).
  18. Varscona is a longsword FFS. And you have to go through certain dialogue options and fight Greywolf FFS. Not having it out in the open just sitting there FFS. As I said, the modders like to have OP items in the game and the Scimitar +2 Rashad's Talon is just sitting there in the Cloackwood Forest, no monsters around, no challenge, just another OP item that you can get without any skill. FFS. Seriously, though, it's an item type few people are going to have any critical character trained in, and it's a +1 difference. OP? Haha.
  19. But the Beta testers said that's how it was meant to be!!! It's a feature, not a bug. Seriously, I think the beta testers who are also modders are more likely to be biased in playing BG1 with mods with OP items and everything else that's wrong with mods that they've forgotten what the original BG1 played like. Oh look, a treasure pile with a Scimitar +2 that's been duplicated from the same scimitar from Durlag's Tower, left in the open in the Cloakwood Forest totally unguarded and no monsters around. What was the point in putting this in and so early in the game? +2 weapons are supposed to be rare, not sitting out in the open. Or at least having to fight monsters to get it. Eh, you can get Varscona way earlier. And it's a scimitar, ffs.
  20. The not smiling was just an European thing, then? Mea culpa.
  21. Nothing gives a civil servant more pleasure than asking a proud man bend over... Can't be worse than mine. Iowa apparently uses these computerized THINGS that make you unable to smile, you can't wear glasses and have to stand a certain way. So you end up looking either stoned or SERIOUSLY angry. Instead of retarded, which is what you Americans look like when you smile in official photographs. Best regards, the rest of the world.
