It's probably the final chapter, just like there originally were only going to be three Mass Effect games (but hey, if there's money to be had... I don't really blame them for milking their franchises btw, it makes perfect business sense). No, Dragon age is open-ended, but since the pc changes, there are other obvious differences, too.

No, yes.

Okay but I thought you didn't particularly enjoy discussing these issues?

Hey, let's talk about sexism and double standards, AGAIN!

I'll certainly be buying it. BioWare games have always given me my money's worth and then some. I think possibly this is because I try very hard to enjoy games on their own terms as the games themselves present them, instead of forcing them to stagger under the too vast orb of my own expectations or marketing hype.

Yeah I'm relatively impressed with some of the lady NPC that can join your party, they aren't an Isabela but there backgrounds and objectives look fun enough I'm playing through DA2 for the first time and Isabela... is kinda one note to me.... Everything is "Sex" or how important she is. And overall her 'long term' goal is kinda boring as well. Sure, she can be hilarious with Merill but other characters have more depth to them. Although they don't seem to have the depth that was put into the DA1 companion.Well, her plot arc basically is outgrowing the comic relief bimbo role. Hidden depths later on etc. I found the Rivalry/friendship mechanic to be very interesting and a masive improvement over the previous one, but there still were some inconsistencies that kind of forced you to metagame the **** out of it...

I thought they did romances just fine in Alpha Protocol, but it's always been convenient to just ignore that

I always have a button somewhere that says '"full mode" or somesuch whenever I check it on a mobile device that turns it back to normal. I just have a "use mobile version, ehich is even worse" :D

The sum of NPCs in DAI so far have been... not promising. Ah well, I'll get a varric/cassandra/vivienne playthrough out of this, at the very least.

The forum has picked up some type of tablet mode and now I have no idea who I'm talking with since it doesn't load the avatars. Do I now have to learn people's names too?!

Back at the office after a week off. Was feeling relaxed and cool, took me less than an hour to get a splitting headache and black spots swimming in my eyes. Everything is going to ****.

I thought it looked better when it was last posted a couple of days ago! (Last page)

Still sounds better than the DAO console versions, so Imma gonna wait for someone to get to play with the actual pc controls before I jump to the same conclusions... True Story: I originally played Dragon Age: Origins on an Xbox 360, and only very recently have gone back and played through it on PC. I like the console controls better. Playing on PC from the tactical view, combat is certainly much easier. I can keep track of my party members better, use traps and spells in a real way, and do a little bit of strategic positioning. But ultimately, I find myself comparing the experience (in my mind) more to Baldur's Gate than I do to Dragon Age on consoles. And it's often an unfavorable comparison. I'm constantly frustrated by my inability to move the camera away from the currently selected character, and my companions insistence on disobeying my orders almost immediately after I switch characters. The critique in my head is "Why is this so limited in comparison to Baldur's Gate?" Whereas, when I play on the Xbox 360, it's true that combat is now "harder" in ways that are unsatisfying, but even so, it's a more fun and ...shall we say, casual experience. Honestly, that's where Bioware feels more comfortable at this point, and I don't think it's a bad direction. TL;DR - I'm glad Inquisition has a tactical camera, but I'm not getting my expectations too high about it being any more flexible than the one in Origins. I played on the ps3, so the game had the additional disadvantage of being a slideshow. Playing a warrior, I can't call the game limited in comparison to bg in goid faith.

I'm not sure where you get this holding down a button, wasn't it click A button to switch views? Besides, pc will be scroll wheel, as usual. Wonder if any of the new gen consoles support keyboard/mouse like the ps3 did. Would be interesting to have that option if possible...

It's why I usually wait 2 years to buy the Ultimate Edition with everything included at a heavily discounted price. If it doesn't have everything, I don't buy it. I'm obviously not the target audience and corporations don't care about one lost sale (having worked for multi-nationals in the past). And it's probably why I haven't bought a BioWare games since DA:O, only because they billed it as a spiritual successor to the BG series. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. Prior to DA:O was NWN. I think FO:NV Ultimate Edition was the last game I bought which had everything. I guess as you get older you realise you don't need to have the game on Day 1 as your priorities often change. Maybe not for everyone, but it has for me. As I get older, I'm happier over dlc that extend the pleasure of my first playthrough over a longer period of time. So ymmv.

European Parliamentary Elections results, major concern?
Nepenthe replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
"Agreement" implies something participants agree to. But countries don't get to agree or disagree on EU trading policy because nobody asks—it's dictated by the EU. Don't like it? GTFO. EU trading policy doesn't work like "regular" international agreements. Thanks for the objections, btw. Forced me to freshen up on EU stuff that I studied some time ago and didn't remember so well... Nobody forces any country to join EU, countries that join know what they agree when they join as those trading policies are major part why countries want to join at first place, so complaining about them seems to me bit odd, especially when only democratic countries are allowed to join and that countries can op-out from union if they want. BS, the present EU is very far from the EU 12 or 15 a lot of the net payers joined. Not sure things would've gone the same way, had EU25 and the Euro been known at the time. -

False. It is content that is downloaded outside the standard base game, hence downloadable content. Not to mention, 99.95% chance it will be available as a separate download for $3.99 or whatever a month or two down the line. Well... sort of. If you still buy physical media a lot of the pre order dlc is simply activated from the disc rather than downloaded, or only a very small activator file is downloaded. Pretty sure that has typically been the case with Bioware's pre-order stuff and was with their last game, ME3. (Really though, it's nitpicky to make a distinction either way, the principle of pre order content is practically identical to that of dlc- but, it doesn't always obey the dl part of the pseudoacronym) Pretty sure it hasn't been the case. Not sure about the amount of vo me3 had for the dlc char, but they've all been sizable downloads. They might not tell the truth when they say dlc is created by people who would otherwise have no work after content lock (ie. Writers, satellite studio), but I sure as hell believe them when they say that character/mission/quest would not have been done without the expected dlc sales to fund it. Now preorder bonuses, those suck. The best me2 heavy weapon never got a full release, which absolutely blows.

I'd like to point out that I've gotten all the three much-whined-about DLC characters with my game, in da2 simply by preordering and me3 and dao by buying the CEs. So I tend to view all the people who choose to buy CE content separately and whine about it as, well, whiners. Edit: shale was project $ 10, like zaeed, so the ce was just for me3...

I can't believe it's an accident, though

Was announced a long time ago, see Gamestop preorder bonus.
