  1. Hint: It's related to the positioning of Egypt on the map.
  2. They give people with more money than sense the option to pay for that. Where do I sign up?
  3. Mmh, maybe the whole thing about the PS3 version being the best ME2 version is in fact due to it being the only platform that doesn't have the stupid points system? Wonder when it's actually coming out. Kind of funny it's out in Japan, but hasn't officially been confirmed by Bioware just yet. :D
  4. Well, they look pretty **** in that, don't they. Can't tell what's different with Tali and Grunt's teenage angst apparently is indeed being reinforced with orthodontics. Miranda's visor indeed looks like a monocle in that pic, but it's the only one that doesn't look like it totally epically sucks. As usual, will reserve final judgment until have seen the (inevitable) in-engine pics at the official page, but for now am pretty underwhelmed. Edit: Looks like Tali's armor is a take on the one Liara was wearing in the DLC. While I think it's a good idea to armor up the girls a bit, Tali wouldn't have been my first, second or anything but last choice for that. But I guess the abovementioned talimancers are a critical buyer group here.
  5. Codexer detected. Yes. I hope he had his monocle on when he wrote that.
  6. To drop into Volo mode here for a second, BG2 > lots of space > IWD. I don't think IWD's bad, I just think that BG2 is better in every conceivable way.
  7. Nope. So that campaign is a lie? ? http://www.itgetsbetter.org/ I haven't played the Kasumi one but I was incredibly disappointed in the Shadowbroker DLC after hearing so many good things about it. Waaaay too drawn out with its combat (though I guess that goes for most everything Bioware) and the Shadow Broker himself was just... wow, incredibly lame. Really expected more from it. Overlord was also way too drawn out but the final setpiece was really nicely done. On-topic... Not really playing anything at the moment. Mmmyeah, most people complain that the DLC are too short. Considering that, as is, the DLC was pretty close to the max allowed by MS on the X360, I think they did manage to strike a pretty good balance between actual content and "drawing out" with the combat. The sequence on the outside of the ship runs on a bit too long, IMO, but I'm willing to go through it as it probably shut up at least a couple of thousand of loud stopwatch gamers.
  8. Not analogous, but still close enough to be funny in light of your previous statement. I hope the time you fell off wasn't one of the times you'd driven it.
  9. Finally got myself into finishing the second book of Larsson's Millennium trilogy. It dragged on a bit, hope the final one's at least close to being as good as the first. Useful as a linguistic exercise at any rate, I don't get to use Swedish nearly enough to stay fluent in it, normally. Now sitting at work, wondering why I thought it was a good idea to come here today.
  10. Yeah: (for those lacking appreciation of advanced sarcasm, that's a Saxon APC on patrol in Northern Ireland).
  11. And, as usual, the counter-argument is that the classification system is obviously constantly abused in such a manner that it's not used for the protection of the citizens, but (also) for the protection of the people who make the classification decisions. I, for one, am not argumenting for total disclosure. If you are going to reply that I'm spouting consipiracy theories, like last time, is it enough if I refer to the examples I pointed out last time already in advance?
  12. Early on, they mixed "breather dlc" in with the Good Stuff, so that they could have regular monthly DLC releases to keep people's curiosity piqued and make them less likely to turn the game in. There was a pretty high demand for one of these packs on the Bio boards, and in fact Evil Chris Priestly ran a poll asking for suggestions, as well (getting "proper" Liara-style armor for the seminaked chicks and more old-school Krogan armor for Grunt were the most popular suggestion)... They've been pretty mum about their ME2 plans, but we might see either a temporary spike after the PS3 release or they might actually ramp the production up to build hype for ME3. tl;dr: They are doing this to put something out - which in this case a considerable amount of people asked for - for the precise reason that it doesn't take a lot of effort!
  13. Not at all, just that the inconvenient ivory tower dissertations are left there within, while the ones that are amenable to the "ruling view" (in more ways than one) are the ones that get pushed forward, and get any kind of visibility.
  14. Curious, I hadn't heard that one. I'm pretty sure it's always worked as it should for me - well, apart from the fact that on the x360, the logic of the choice is different from the rest of the game so people end up picking the other choice than they intended. In both the end briefing and IMO the mission page as well.
  15. TBH, that's not an bug with the quest, but people pushing the wrong button. I know I did the first time, but that's a URP (User Related Problem).
  16. Well, when it comes to the alternate appearance packs, I'd say that the first one for sure didn't deliver a lot of bang for my buck. In fact, I'd say that the key selling point was the fact that it plugged the annoying as hell hole in Garrus' armor - I certainly picked it up for that. Still, unlike with the DAO DLC, I think I've gotten a fair return for my money overall with ME2 PRC, so I'm keeping a fairly positive attitude towards this. Also, *shrug*, impossible to make a bug-free game for the PC. These days getting one for the consoles (or the console in this case - there seems to have been some pretty nasty SNAFUs in the PS3 version, but the fix is going to Sony today, apparently) is starting to be a pretty impressive feat. Kind of sad, TBH.
  17. The University database tells things as they really are. My entry says "Position: No value".
  18. You mean to imply that planning, designing, executing and releasing DLC is a task in which exclusively character artists are involved? Interesting theory. Releasing a DLC that reskins some characters. I wouldn't say exclusively, but I'm still gonna go out on a limb that they do the lion's share of work here. I was also under the impression that ME2 required a multicore processor. Guess I'm just lucky that I haven't run into any issues on any of my 7 playthroughs.
  19. Or maybe, just maybe, they are still Legion and Garrus, just like they have been since the game came out. (So yeah, hint: those spots aren't "new"). There are bugs in ME2 that need fixing? And those that are, should and could only be fixed by character artists?
  20. Having a strange temporary(?!) obsession with 90s early 00s europop. I think it's related to flashback I got of a TVE program called Noche de Fiesta and some... fine ladies that used to dance to this stuff. Natascha Hagen - Que Sera Guessing this is NSFW, I didin't watch it, though
  21. Went to visit my former places of employment (have some friends there, the bosses were nice so like to keep them from forgetting me, as I still need to work after getting the doctorate and things really aren't panning out like I hoped they would be). Old prosecutor colleague: "WHO LET THIS HOMELESS HIPPIE IN AGAIN?!"
  22. I couldn't find a good "gaming - serious business" one in the 25 seconds I had allocated to the search. The people making themselves ridiculous aren't working for EA right now. At least I don't think they are.
