  1. Agreed, but I think it's recoverable. It needs to be more of an attack-of-opportunity and not a death-grip. Sadly the review in the OP chooses not to look past faults and posit solutions.
  2. Doesn't bother me, really, either. My initial point was that, realistically, you could have a player character who wouldn't care about the Iron Shortage but the game will force you to care. Absolutely. BG1s plot is on rails as you say. It's errant nonsense. Still fun.
  3. Druids are True Neutral which is the most selfish, do-what-you-like-in-the-name-of-the-balance alignment in D&D. As someone who is untroubled by AD&D canon in 'puter games and finds the alignment mechanic silly, none of this really troubles me in the context of the Infinity Engine games TBH.
  4. is not a criticism o' mc, 'cause you are at least consistent. however, some o' the folks that find fault in poe for taking itself too serious seem to have forgotten their posts and opinions regarding ps:t, a game that could descend to a state o' lugubrious camp. HA! Good Fun! Indeed. I've always swam against the tide in finding Planescape inpenetrable (and admitting it on this forum).
  5. 'Hŵrpa Dwrp' I try to be fair in all things, and to be fair this is actually a good gag. The po-faced over-seriousness / complexity of the setting gnaws at my patience too.
  6. Really? Where's that classy concentration camp art they like to proudly display to prove their 'edginess?'
  7. It's 4Chan for neckbeards. No it is not. They are just as easy to offend and call people troll as people here.It is a undeserved reputation that some people try to spread. Would love to discuss this with you, but your post makes no sense.
  8. Sometimes I don't know why the Codex bothers reviewing anything, as they seem to like about four games made in the late 20th Century. It's a perfect example of how cognitive dissonance creates a hill tribe of in-bred opinion. No, not opinion, dogma. I agree with (easily) a third of this review, is just the holier-than-thou tone that makes my gorge rise.
  9. Hmmm Enoch is being diplomatic. low-INT dialogue is very resource heavy. I simply don't think they had time to write it, as it is precisely the sort of design feature you'd expect in an Obsidian game. Maybe in the future.
  10. Hmmmm not min-maxish but not far off. Worry not the amount of stat-boosting stuff is quite generous.
  11. Yes, but seeing as you are a dirty Commie, you probably have entryist moles in every political party. Bada-bisch! I'm here all week.
  12. Your hypochondria amuses me. You have a rogue mole.
  13. Tyme for a cool true story. My mate wandered in to see the GP a couple of years ago with a nasty boil-type scab on his upper arm. This guy loves sunbathing, a total nightmare. The GP looks at it and says, "I don't like the look of that. We'll get it tested." Three days later the GP rings him and says, "you free for an appointment, they can do you at 3pm?" He said, "what day?" He replied, "today." They cut the thing out that afternoon, a 3cm cube. It was totally malignant. My friend has been in remission and is fine, but he takes all his holidays in shady, temperate places and wears weapons-grade sun-block. TL;DR - Britain's NHS is only really good at two things - minor crap the GP can deal with and serious crap that'll kill you. You need to see that GP ASAP, and if there's a drama they'll get it sorted.
  14. And so is my wife! Oh. Wrong movie.
  15. Does it bleed or itch? Doesn't look like it. Is there hair growing out of it (hair usually won't grow on skin cancers)? I wouldn't wait three weeks, I'd be banging on the surgery doors but if you've got the cojones to Google image 'skin cancer' it might put your mind at rest, as that doesn't look like it to me. But, hey I ain't a doctor.
  16. http://slymepit.com/phpbb/ Ha ha ha
  17. I was beginning to despair of twenty-somethings, then this bloke turns up and I realise all is well. Trollage has a bright future while this shining light walks the earth.
  18. I like the idea of stuffing your face full of beer, meat and cheese before fighting
  19. Did some writing. The character is an alcoholic so I drank two litres of beer while writing the scene. I'm so method.
  20. Enjoy, my friends, whichever side of the divide you find yourself on! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/bbc/11548162/Star-Wars-is-racist-and-homophobic-BBC-blunder-as-Twitter-hoaxer-is-invited-on-air.html
  21. Me neither, but it sounds cool. Do you have to explore a tractless wilderness to discover the secrets of allotments and vegetables? Although, technically, Marrow is a fruit.
  22. It's the size of a coffin, basically, I'm going to use mine to store large logs in by my wood-burner.
  23. Ha ha I went to the gym in mine and was streaming sweat the colour of.... Obsidian.
  24. ^ No. A thousand times. Can you spot the difference between a real game of soccer and FIFA 2015? This is what we're talking about.
