  1. Easier to put a yellow ribbon on.
  2. Funny, all of this and no Bolton there. Wouldn't have expected tha
  3. Been trying that for a year, not too bad at it but it is a hard language to learn.
  4. Some universities are better than others, also the workload and pressure they put on students also matters. But that's really a small part of the interview, at least in the ones I've given. I'm a pretty easy interviewer, only rejected one person out of about a dozen because he was a douche that 1) insulted my schooling before saying hi, 2) mocked our choice of DBMS and 3) bragged about some corporate award. Did have one guy boast of being #3 in the Toronto DOTA ladder...which was pretty odd.
  5. What about the bogans?
  6. Thought it was just usual Internet asshats/STEMLords that used "learn to code", as weak an insult as it is. Not quite sure it's the same thing, but usual suspects need to feel nailed to a cross, I guess Ah, Biden. The protests at the embassy and the new fuss with Iran has convenient timing.
  7. Same ****, different year.
  8. Alone at work, watching a documentary on Jonestown. Reminded of the Agile evangelists at work, for some reason.
  9. Sort of the same lines. Ends on a grim cliffhanger that will be pointless as I doubt there ever will be a Syberia 4. Story is a bit of a jumble, the antagonists are after these irritating indigenous people for some reason and are paper thin (although maybe I missed some notes or something). About as insulting as the ending to 2 in a way,. where Hans just ****s off and leaves Kate without so much as a thanks, here most of the natives shuffle off after you've busted your ass to help them along
  10. Syberia 3's ending is terrible.
  11. Sounds like some libertarian's dream.
  12. Sequel Trilogy fans sure protest a lot.
  13. Human race has been pretty lucky, all in all.
  14. Towed a ship aground using a ferris wheel. Who knew those motors had that much power.
  15. Feeling pleased with myself for using "Only now, at the end, do you understand" in a work setting. Sadly I didn't electrocute the coworker at the end of it, but we take what we can get.
  16. Friend got me Disco Elysium so I am playing that. Lost the game when I failed to make a jump to a ledge, luckily taking my pants off gave me the necessary 4% chance to succeed. Still mucking through Syberia 3, I want to exterminate the Youkols. Puzzles are still not interesting, too much tedious searching for things through environments that are too large.
  17. Is that some euphemism for masturbating ?
  18. Washer has been giving trouble, first intake valve was leaking so we had that fixed and now the pump is acting up - well I think it is. So no washer for a good chunk of time, sort of a pain to hump laundry over to a laundromat, especially with the amounts we have to do. Thinking about just getting new ones, but as it's stackable we'll probably have to change the washer and dryer (physical size is going to be an issue as well as warranty) at the same time and Bosch, our preferred brand, only makes condenser ones which won't work for us.
  19. Sounds like it's a problem with you, wussy casual.
  20. Hard liquor.
  21. Not sure how much it is holding us back, though.
  22. Highlights of this year for games for me: Ghost Recon Wildlands, co-op was fun even if it does get repetitive but we screwed up enough to keep things exciting. BFG:2 Armada - fun enough 40k game, the changes they've made from the first game are good - I still kvetch over having limited torpedoes though Replaying Witcher 3 NG+ and wringing the game dry - think I've sunk 200 hours into it. Other than that though, mostly have the usual time burners of Diablo III, WoW and FM2018 as well assorted older games.
