  1. I think thats kinda easy, the bard is the least played class. While far from being a bad PC they tend to be harder to play because they are more a jack of all trades not excelling in any of the abilities they are given.
  2. Heh that would rule I pretty much hate Blaine too.
  3. Man Penn would so kick Tellers puny butt. How bout Penn and Teller vs David Copperfield and David Blaine? :D
  4. I would like to see another marvel Vs Dc comics only through in the indies too. Maybe things have changed since I collected but Spawn, wildcats and the other image comics were indies back then.
  5. I had thought of mandrake, heh wvwn thought about trying Lindows. The only other question I have is what kind of driver issues are there?
  6. I personally would like to see all OS's supported. Its not that I don't like windows but it has cornered the market as far as operating systems are concerned and it shows. I am also the type of person that wants some of you Linux guys to make a Linux based OS that anyone can install and run in a PC. The only reason I have never installed Linux is from what I understand I would have enough programming knowledge to get the job done. To the gentleman who said there are more virusus for windows than Mac. I agree but as a hacker sending malicious code out to do damage doesn't it make more sense to attack windows since you will reach more people? I think there would naturally be more viruses for the OS that has the most users.
  7. I think tenjac hit on the most significant part of this tech. It will extend the life of older cards. People who can't afford to get a 500.00 card every 6 months will now be able to get the same if not better frame rates by marrying 2 cards together. Here is something else, what about developers writing better grafics because now there is the possibility of twice the power.
  8. Everyone wants to be the best, it's just a question of how badly they want to. We can accept that we are not the best at everything, and that's why Americans tend to dominate in certain events (many actually) and have only a minor presence in others. The Chinese end up in pretty much any event that they can practice for (which is why you don't see them doing Equestrian). The Chinese think that their society is superior to all others, and since their athletic program is run by the government, it follows that their athletes feel the exact same way. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree with you there, I just think it is kinda funny that the chinese do it on a national level and america is more person by person. How many pro baseball players have been suspected of using perfomance enhancing substances now? Lets face it also if steroids were not a problem the leagues wouldn't have rules against them. How about one that hits close to home for me, Sammy Sosa and the corked bat.
  9. Oh, pardon me for not addressing your straw men arguments. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If my argument was weak and not worth your time why answer at all? Why come back and post a second time? What is it you are gaining? Your opinion means little to me when you interject youself into a conversation and the only thing you have to say is you miss spelled something I know how to spell. I am sure there are a great many things you can do that I can not, and yes there are probably just as amny things I can do you can't. I have never been strong at spelling but I think I get my point across. Please if you have something to say about the topic say it.
  10. I like your reasoning my ascertion that the olympics where founded on good will and sportsmanship and should be approached that way is completely wrong. Yet you use the ideals of nationalism, and patriotism to support your argument. The reason you feel that way is because of the enfessis we put on all sports. Do you believe a coch, or captain in the little league world series has the right to belittle and berate a player in front of the world to get them to play better? Before you get all defensive last time I checked other countries were let in on it, so yeah they are playing for national pride also. How do you expect our children to understand sportsmanship when their hero's don't show it. Win win win thats the bottom line with American sports, and I think Yao has learned his leasons well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok maybe this was to much of an attack on you and I am sorry for it. My biggest concern in sports today is it is all about winning. Do what ever it takes to win which is why a guy like Bobby Knight; a great basketball coach, but someone who can not control himself kept his job for so long. There were many times he made Indiana university look really bad, yet even after the allegations of misstreating players he was able to find a job. I can give other examples how about Littrell Spreewell he attacked his coach. Then there is Anthony Moss (not sure if that is hisf his first name) the wide eciever for the vikings admitting he only gives 100% of his effort when it suits him. Is this the face you want to put forth for sports? It seems like it as all these people are still involved with their respective sports today. Listen if Yao wanted to take care of the problem on the court fine but there is a way to do it and not come off looking like a spoiled baby. These men after all are adults why can't they act like it?
  11. Do you have sometning to add or are you just here to try and make your self feel superior? I might disagree with Leferd but at least his post offered more than I spell better than you do. Here is your gold star now head out for recess with the other children.
  12. You treat it like it is a job, and quite frankly it is not. Unfortunatly America has forgoten all about sportsmanship. Do you see gymnastics coaches jumping up and down screaming their heads off about getting their head in the compitition when one othe gymnasts doesn't stick a landing or performs sub par? No because thats not in the spirit of the olympics. Now if we are talking about the NBA where everything is about money and who wins or looses thats another story. I mean lets face it Yao left china for a reason, you don't happen to think it had something to do with the fact a good pickup game is hard to find do you? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for the red herring. For all the idealism of the Olympics, and whether or not they compete for compensation, there is a certain amount of pride associated with the Olympics. Dare I say...nationalism? Patriotism? Don't you happen to think that there is something at stake a little more than money? As a former collegiate athlete, I expect and need to get my butt chewed for not "getting my head in the game." Doesn't matter if it's from my coach, captain, or the waterboy. And it is certainly the most effective if it is done immediately. Can't let the cancer linger. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I like your reasoning my ascertion that the olympics where founded on good will and sportsmanship and should be approached that way is completely wrong. 14. That is fine but not in a public way especially in the olympics. It is one thing to yell at your team mates behind closed doors and another thing entirely if is done on court, field ect.
  15. I agree sportsman ship is the rule in the olympics. Has been for as long as I can remember. The thing that differenciates the olympics from other sporting events is you are not only competing indivdually but as a country also. Thats why they have the medal standings. So if you act unbecoming it also reflects on your country.
  16. That is what Intel was shooting for with hyperthreading which is why if an application is not designed for multiprocessor support hyperthreading is useless. To answer you BlackBishop thats the kinda answers I was looking for do you think this could make a big impact on gaming. Oh and by the way that was a paraphrased from Nvidia them selves hence why they gave their cards the FX designation instead of calling it the GEforce 5. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah the FX designation is in regards to 3DFX but to be honest they have been using/and or implamenting vairous aspects of 3dfx tech since the inception of Geforce.... the FX designations was used for this reason..... SLI configuration that they knew they were going to implament......... Over all, the performece of your rig will see higher frame rates and mybe less taxing on the rest of the subsystems. If a game is desgined right for use on the new nvidia cards then you might beable to see much more than just frame rates...... better visuals over all. Me personaly I'm wating untill I build my Amd 64 FX system and then maybe looking at these cards depending on if the current games can take advantage of them..... Just wait untill you start seeing reviews of the dual cards.......to make your choice if you going to buy them or not... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maximum PC Sept. 2004 not really any benchmark numbers because they appearantly had to beg for the connector but it sounds promising. They also stated they would be PCI express which leads me to believe AMD 64, and comparible Intel 64 bit users are the ones going to get the dual card option. I find this a more cost effective way to get dual cards as compared to buying an Alienware rig.

  18. Yet Intel one of the biggest names in computers today reintroduces a variant of this exact tech years later. I mean basically that is what hyperthreading is the addition of a limited second proc on the waffer.
  19. Heh that was awesome. Do you relise there are still people using that system to day and playing games. I never understood why Nvidia let that laps when they bought 3DFX. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh they were bought out? 4 years ago I wanted a 3Dfx card, and some idiot salesman told me they went out of business. I thought "hmm... that's wierd." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah Nvidia bought most of them up, but for the longest time did associate themselves with 3dfx. That is untill the FX5800 card which was supposedly a blending of the 2 technologies.
  20. Oh the memories. Only in the realms of dungeons and dragons. That was quite possibly my favorite saturday morning cartoon.
  21. Sorry about this being so adversarial. I just wanted you to know that I consider everything past a certain speed is a money grab, wether it be video cards, procs, or anything else. I was wanting to know if you thought there could be graphical improvements using this technology?
  22. Heh that was awesome. Do you relise there are still people using that system to day and playing games. I never understood why Nvidia let that laps when they bought 3DFX.
  23. Just a little question for you guys. How fast is your Proc and why? I have yet to see many programs that require a 1.5ghz proc to run but I bet many of you have a proc clocked higher than that. How bout ram howe many of you have DDR, SDRam can handle all programs out now. If by combinig 2 nvidia cards that are mid range say 150.00(300.00) and it gave you the performance of a single high end card lets say one that cost 500.00 would it be worth it to you?
  24. How many of you tech heads are excited about Nvidias new announcemenr? The one that showed you can connect and run 2 video cards simultaneously for better performance. Oh by the way this is only on mobos that have PCI express.
  25. I would be very caeful when buying a wildcat card for games. Number one the cheapest I have seen it sold for is $700.00. Reason number two being there is a difference between a gaming card and a rendering card. From all the information I have gathered these cards are built specifically for rendering in CAD and for people doing Computer animation. Which means all the fun support for pixle shaders, anti ailising, and anisotropic filtering are non existant. Also more ram does not always equal faster, the arciteture of the card has a lot to do with it also. This is appearant in the new Maximum PC where the lower clock speed of the GeForce 6800 gt was offset by more pixel pipelines giving it an edge in the bench marks over the X800 pro. Most people also assume more GHZ=better performance.
