I don't hate it. I've had my fun with it, and its on a shelf now where its gonna do a good job of collecting dust. That's the kind of fire and forget fun the game offers and I was aware of it when I bought it. Like I said, its a very good game. I'm bashing the undeserved legendary status that some people and the press are so keen to award it with. I'd rather see some other licensed material, WoD in particular. As for BG, I'd love to see the more popular characters rendered with ME production values, but I don't see what the point of this return would be. That story was finished, as well as it could be at the time. Its significantly cheaper, and the WoTC are notoriously annoying to work with. I've heard the same of White Wolf. Too much meddling... But they do offer pedigree and tons of finished content.

The lack of parallels is what makes Dune good and ME pedestrian. I was saying that there are spades of good sci-fi they can use, beyond the lamest examples of space opera that cater to everyone's taste - or lack of it. Forgotten Realms sucks, but it is extremely fleshed out with tons of material. Having a solid backing and a rich universe to pick what you will out of it helped BGII be the game that it was. No. Its not deep on any level, either gameplay or plot wise. Its a very good game at best, propelled to popularity by aggressive marketing and by being available on several platforms, as well as blindly following recent console action game trends and hollywood blockbuster cliche's. It fails on "glory" of any sort because its like a cheap hoe, trying to please absolutely everyone but most of all the teenage console crowd whose tastes are... debatable. None of this is particularly terrible but it will deny the game the sort of legendary status you seem to believe its entitled to.

There, there - it will all be over soon.

You want them to create a new pedestrian universe? NO I want them to use a license that's worth a damn instead of wasting resources on building their own worlds. There are at least two decades of PnP role playing completely ignored by cRPG devs. If the want sci fi, why not Fading Suns... or a Dune RPG?

Neverwinter Nights 2. Case proven. Doesn't take much to be better than NWN. So the secret to an awesome sequel is to have an unbelievably terrible start? Because NWN2 is awesome. I don't exactly agree about NWN2 being awesome. It was better than NWN certainly, but I found it somewhat generic and derivative. MotB on the other hand, was awesome. My opinion may not be exactly valid since I've always disliked the NWN series for their engine, interface, camera control, graphical style - in short just about everything felt wrong for me. They're Baldur Gate's ugly bastard children. *except for the way the Aurora was used in the Witcher

Hah! No more magic elves for you. Taste the burnsauce, fatboy! I'm wasn't rooting for elves I was rooting for Bioware to abandon this pedestrian universe they created after ME3 is through. No such luck.

I liked her as well though she had perhaps 10 lines altogether.

From what I've read in some articles these robot dolls have been around for some time, and are popular among rich kid circles in college... They used to cost exorbitant sums to rent, and I'd hazard a guess that child versions have also been available albeit only among "people who know people".
-
Didn't notice them... they look like repeated textures, to fill the huge space needed for the resolution. Like the stuff next to end dialogue. Sloppy work, but not really very obtrusive.

Don't know what crap you're talking about, the widescreen mod works perfectly, except that it makes everything very small. Its sad when you think about it, 6 years to make, 6 minutes to deconstruct. I know I'll have to play it... I need mah RPG itch scratched. And I can't play BGII either when I recall how huge it is. I've been thoroughly spoiled by 10-20 hour instant gratification games. I'll just have to take this playthrough slowly...

When you're level 9, no one respects you. I like to hope they're just not trying.

You aren't missing out on much, relax. I've already forgotten what ME2 was about.
-
Nice review. I'll be skipping this one I think.

Not so many in the world of computer games IMO... Or that depends on your definition of improve, I suppose.
-
Fruits or no, I'll have to play Dragon Age. ME 2 left a Baldur's Gate sized void in my RPG appetite.

You just deleted your Bioware folder in "My Documents" for no reason? No, its empty for some reason. I probably wasn't paying attention to the uninstaller and clicked something that shouldnt have been clicked.
-
Oh no... In a supreme act of idiocy I appear to have deleted my lvl 30 character along with the game.
-
eh, I always swapped between rifle, pistol, and smg. if I ran out of those my heavy weap and my incin would punch out enough damage to save me while my allies went nuts. My problem was choosing Vanguard and being able to use only pistol, smg and shotgun with the shotgun being useless due to short range and having to stay in cover. I practically had to choose the rifle training.
-
Crap, where does the game store your character, I uninstalled ME2 and am about to reinstall Windows and I cant find it.
-
Almost everything that has a 2 in the name is.
-
Wag your joystick to towel off. Idiocy. PS: not to mention the toilet scene. Good thing they didn't have you pulling the joystick back to simulate constipation.
-
I found that taking additonal training instead, in my case assault rifle training, helped out - mostly with the added ammo of having another weapon in the inventory.

The question is what the hell you're going to do with it, since it will only be available on missions tailored for it. Which if former DLC is anything to go by, will amount to 5 hours of gameplay by the time ME3 is released.
