XCOM was an experiment. And as far as i'm concerned they delivered a solid base that can be build upon. That's all i'll say about it. Playing more Borderlands 2 again. Getting bored fast the closer i am to the end. :/

Try it, i did and i liked it. Took a while to get used to keyboard and mouse when i played it again on PC. Eitherway it takes some time to get used to controls, so just continue playing.

I'm playing the game of choice : Should i or shouldn't i, give more money to Chris Roberts so they can reach the $10-mio goal and their own mocap studio.

Of course their campaign was great. They're not starting from scratch, they just ran out of money while making a game. So can it be compared to anything else on kickstarter?

I've noticed you really are hung up on this. I agree it should be something that is worked on, but it was improved in 1.13. AI is a weakness in the entire genre, Xcom was horrible and the new one is only a slight improvement. That being said, I don't consider it the most important aspect of the game, it just needs to be passable. Passable AI works for first playthrough. So yes it's enough for a shipped game. But if you want it to live longer through mods they should strive for it to be better than average, since as you can seen no one has significantly improved the JA2 AI, even with source code, therefore i expect no one will do that in this game. (yes , quite pessimistic.) I'm not saying there weren't any improvements at all, but it pales in comparison with all the benefits players received. So all i want is better enemy AI in tactical combat than it was in JA2. I don't think that's too much, is it? ( yes XCOM 2012 is not great in that aspect either, but that's not my favorite game :D and i do expect them to improve in the sequel )

Bah 1.13 modders are ok, but they can't tackle the biggest problem. Enemy AI.

Maybe for Günther, but killing Anna on Lebedev's plane is much more satisfying.

Nothing to be surprised about. There never were so many people to support it, and especially not many influential people and the franchise was dying already when Sir-Tech died. Not to mention the years following that and all the failed pitches and crappy imitation projects and no clear direction. The community was great and mods still keep coming, but they never improved on the most important thing - enemy AI, at least not significantly, even with access to source code.

I'll back them ... when i get paid. Which is like 1 week before it ends :S HOpefully they'll reach the basic goal by then and shower people with promising information.

LOL BL2 is weird. I'm getting Loot Goon Goliaths everywhere. I got Loot midgets everywhere with Zer0 and nothing with Siren. What gives? o.O

So went and started a 4th character in BL2, a gunzerker. He's fun. More than others. Now i just need powerful guns ... or at least lots of money to tip Moxxi to get both Good and Bad Touch. I probably could finish the game with those two guns. j/k

Chaos blade is better if you have a DEX build. And if you quit during the boss fight you restart it ...

If you liked the new X-Com and were curious about the older X-Coms then you may like this game that's not called X-Com but is more like the old X-Com than the new X-Com when it's released later this year. Or he may be bored immediately.

But how is a game that one guy + contract workers made in who knows how many years, without any promises, physical goods, ancient graphics with basic animation in 800x600 resolution, simplistic writing and story, complete control over all IP, ... a proper example to compare to.

I completely fine with checkpoints saves, even though they have even been explained and everyone is just jumping to conclusion on how it will be implemented. Nordicus how the hell did you bring Eschalon into this? And you're just throwing assumptions around like they should mean anything.

Well you can turn it off and on at will, so you can check out if it makes any difference to you. It definitely should with that many tokens to spend.
