  1. "Is there a list on how many posts you get to level?" I think the formula goes something like this: (2^(x-1))*100 = posts required for level x
  2. "I'm sad to see the NHL suffer, but at least lots of players are coming over to Sweden to play this year so we'll have the best hockey in the world anyhow." Guess you were thinking too fast, missing skipping the word 'second' before 'best', eh?
  3. Because Molyneux is the master of hype?
  4. "!" . "!!" ..
  5. "And this is a known technology." And what exactly is "this"? Russian "energy picture tech"?
  6. "For the most part however, I'm still wanting a SINGLE SENSIBLE explanation or point that would give a GOOD reason why a GE variety would be suddenly rendered unsafe to eat." Well, AFAIK, some of the stuff we eat have small quantities of poisonous substances in them, and I guess technically genetic manipulation could accidentally lead into larger quantities of those poisons. That could happen with crossbreeding, too, I think. Not much else there that I can think of, though. edit: C'mon, Potty, give me ten minutes and I could have done that in Photoshop myself.
  7. 18.9 posts a day? You freak!
  8. " :D " ? "Thems fighting words" ??
  9. 1.) KotOR is someone's interpretation of Star Wars, not the "Holy Word" itself. 2.) It's not a problem if a padawan falls in love. It's a problem if the said padawan can't handle loss.
  10. "In any other country, if some guys started doing weird stuff around a central government institute, they'd BE SHOT." Dude, you really need to see a bit more of the world if you really believe that to be true.
  11. "I think u missed the point." I think I got the point just fine. "Jedi masters hav feelings, despite keeping them in check extremly well. I didnt say nowt bout sabers being banned." Of course they have, but like you said, they're good at keeping them in check, which as I see it, is a requirement for jedihood, thus eliminating the need for "no love 'cuz some of you can't handle loss" rules. The saber example was there to demonstrate the stupidity of such rules: it is in essence the 'no love' rule applied sabers, with the same basic reasoning: some people just can't handle it. "The point is that Luke had to learn himself to control his emotions, based on the newer jedi teachings of love being banned." Luke had to learn a lot of stuff by himself because there was no one left to teach him, but it's not like Yoda or Obi-Wan didn't already set foundations for those lessons. As for the 'no love' thing, I count myself in the denial group when it comes to newer iterations of Star Wars: no, Greedo didn't shoot first; no, Stormtroopers do carry blaster rifles instead of walky-talkys; no, midiclhtorhorwhateverians do not exist; no, there is no 'no love' rule for jedis, except maybe only for immature twits/padawans. And naturally, Lucas died in '98. edit: "Plus u dont seemed to hav mentioned anything on the Revan and Bastila bit i put in my last post" I don't see how it's actually important.
  12. "True, true, but even jedi masters could hav trouble controlling emotions that strong." Says who? And besides, I don't see lightsabers being banned just because some retard might cut off his own limbs with it. "Luke was never taught to control his emotion by ObiWan, he had to learn himself, and he still became a jedi master." I don't really see what this has to do with the subject at hand.
  13. You know, being a Star Wars fan doesn't mean you like EU.
  14. Of course they're going to be upset. Sh!t happening isn't a very good reason to abandon everything you believe in, however. Someone who does that shouldn't be trained as a jedi, because he doesn't have what it takes to be a one.
  15. "Would u not want to take revnge on the guy who killed a family member of urs, especially if it is ur son/daughter/wife/husband/father/mother." If I were a spiritualistic monk/hippie with Super Powers and awful lot of responsibilities? No.
  16. "Freezing 1000 jedi is quite possible if you have big number of midichlorians and Exar had est. 27000 midichlorians." lolz After reading that, it suddenly became a lot more understandable that you like the Expanded Universe.
  17. So what you're saying is that jedi's are not allowed to love because they can't handle loss? What kind of mentally unstable wrecks are they anyways, and who the hell ever let these people in on the Force business? kthxbye
  18. You're from the UK. What would you know about cold?
  19. Doesn't becoming independant, fighting a civil war, fighting a defensive war against Soviet Union after being falsely accused of starting the said war, fighting another war for four years (IIRC) against Soviets almost immediately after the end of the first war, actually surviving both wars without becoming part of Soviet Union, being the only country that has paid its war compensations (IIRC) from WW2 (and we weren't even the aggressors!) and surviving a depression get any love from you, Di?
  20. What's the other country?
  21. Healthcare, education (and damn good one for those who qualify for it, to boot), clothes, food and a roof over your head should be available for everyone (as long as the society can afford that). For the rest, you work. However, I'm against people amassing huge amounts of wealth. Tax rates should rise pretty steeply after certain point, and the money should be spent on improving healthcare and education, not for buying Porches for the unemployed.
  22. Plus, you might still need that kidney of yours later on. What do you need that extra million a year for when you're already rich beyond most people's dreams?
  23. You can hardly compare having two kidneys instead of one to making humongous amounts of money instead of making only lots and a lot more money, can you?
  24. "socialism is very tyrannic for one reason: individual rights are trampled for the good of the people. in a socialist society, it is the community that benefits, not the individual. workers are not toiling for themselves, but for the good of society." Well, we humans are pack animals, aren't we? A bit offtopic, but IIRC, psychological problems like depression, etc are far more common in individualistic systems that in communal ones. Is freedom really all that important, when it seems that a large part of mankind has no idea what to with it? By the way, could someone please explain me what is it that you can get with a $6 million/year you can't get with $5 million/year?
