  1. Okay, what is putting a murderer in prison if not vengeance? That could also be used to describe putting a man who will never commit another crime in jail. Plus, the death penalty has several practical benefits, like dissuading lifer violence and motivating criminals to take plea bargains.
  2. It's not a very difficult word. Four Ses. That's all. It's got "ass" in it twice. It's not like we're talking about one of those words with three or four vowels in a random order like Sioux.
  3. Assasin cats. Catsasins. Assassin has four Ses. Jeez, where'd you learn english?
  4. The United States allows citizens to attempt to arrest someone; virtually all allow it for a felony they saw being committed, blah blah blah. Apparently these folks were trying to arrest him regarding war crimes and such, not the ducking-out-on-Subpoena (found it in other sources while looking for Iowan laws on Citizen's Arrest). edit: Judge rules Congress can subpoena Bush aides RAGE RAGE RAGE.
  5. The saga continues! Four Iowans attempt citizens arrest of Karl Rove.
  6. That it's gonna be way better than KotOR 2? What else could it mean?
  7. It's in an article about AP, so yeah.
  8. I hope the game comes out Q1 2009. That way I won't forget about it.
  9. What's the implication here, other than that it's going to be a water pistol? And if you had any capabilities in reading you'd noticed I talked about one pistol in James Bond game - IIRC it is first one we get - that is like water pistol when it comes to firepower. That doesn't mean I think all weapons will be of that level of firepower. You're still misinterpretin' and simplifying the petition but never mind that, you already made parody of it. And if you had any capabilities at reading comprehension, you'd have noticed this: Hmm... AP is a game with unlimited ammo which isn't Mass Effect. What could it possibly mean?
  10. You said it: What's the implication here, other than that it's going to be a water pistol?
  11. They are all water guns. This was confirmed by Xard a while back if I remember correctly.
  12. If you're getting it on PC, just wait for somebody to mod it, or mod it yourself. BAM, problem solved.
  13. Okay, now *that* makes sense. Could you find that article?
  14. I suppose. Though #1 is a bit oversimplified; sexual attraction is one reason, not all the reasons, so it reduces the number of reasons. Yeah, that's a good reason too.
  15. How exactly is a game where you must play a male going to involve lesbian romantic stories, without resulting in it being impossible to nail "all the chicks"? Huh? Yeah, that's right. It can't. Who?
  16. Yeah, you know, you're playing through and then you accidentally pick some of the wrong options and then you realize you accidentally just said you'd like to hit another dude and you're like, "oh no!" but it's too late. If you don't like watching two guys getting it on, it means you've gotta pay attention during conversations. Also, it's for symmetry with Xard's topic. It's one of the reasons, yes. Well, it's also PARTLY for the lulz because this has about as much chance to succeed as Xard's petition a while back (okay, maybe a little more).
  17. No gay love interests design is bad for many reasons, including (but not limited to) the following: 1) It takes away the tension of accidentally completing a gay love interest quest and being treated to unexpected gay sex. 2) It dilutes reasons for empathizing with male characters since you can't have sex with them anyway. 3) Only option to counter overpowering of good relationships with female characters is to make them very easy or not plot relevant. I've seen this in some games and it's not fun, practically making such women toys. I see no single positive thing in no gay love interests design. Letting you have sexual relations with men, flirt with them, et cetera is dead easy thing to include. As there's nothing to gain from this design - in fact I believe it'll weaken experience just like other times when I've encountered it - I think it would be better for quality of game change this design. Blizzard has practically halted their project sand started design again from the scratch sometimes. This no-gay-love-interests design is small part of overall mechanics and shouldn't be big thing to revamp at all. So please Obsidian, consider this. I don't typically care enough to go and start petitions seriously (do it sometimes for the lulz) when it comes to games and such but this caught even my ire with its stupidity.
  18. I'm sure that you know as well as I do I could find an article by a journalist which blames a school shooting on the atheistic nazi mentality. Does this mean that atheists are the only nazis, or, hell, that it actually was motivated by atheistic nazism? No. No it doesn't.
  19. lol finn mentality much? It's not like only finns can approach romantic relationships in fiction as a fatalistic deal, you ethnocentric man!
  20. Eh, I don't really like games where I feel like I need a strategy guide to get the full experience, which is precisely what I felt when playing Fallout 1. Unless Fallout 2 is very different, it's unlikely I'd enjoy it either.
  21. Never played it. What's the relevance?
  22. It's unlikely this actually represents the tone of the game. Glance to the column on the left side of the article: Hmm.... what could this possibly mean? The whole "crazy chick wants you to assassinate some guy in return for sex" thing is weird, but as you will not be forced to do so, I am fine with it. In a way, the idea feels like one of those "evil options that actually feels evil" (you know, unlike the "kick orphans down staircases" kind that make you feel like you're in a cartoon). You're assassinating some perfectly good person just to get laid. Only a complete sociopath would do such a thing.
