at this rate, we should just have a "Violent Attacks in 2016" thread
-
It's my impression that while the DNC cares at least a little about Sanders supporters come election-time, it really seems like Hillary just does not give even, like, the slightest crap - not even the tiniest inkling that maybe she should have been working to unite the two different sets of voters, to unite the party. She just doesn't seem to care. It's a 'bold' strategy...
-
In other news, the corrupt DNC chair, Debbie Wesserman Schultz, will be resigning...but not before the convention. And Hillary immediately announced that it would hire her as "honorary chair" of her campaign. What, she wasn't already?

I think Humanoid perhaps got the crux of it - while you may not technically have to grind in modern JRPGs to be able to keep progressing in the main story, if the gameplay is so dreadfully repetitive to some players that even doing the bare minimum in regards to the combat is too much of a slog, then, well, perhaps the complaint shouldn't be "too grindy" but rather "not fun to me, period". People might say the former, but they probably mean the latter, particularly if they haven't played hardly any JRPGs to begin with.

why the hell would we pledge to do anything in the event hillary loses? the only people who seem to really strongly want hillary to win around here are bruce and leferd. what are you smoking, man
-
Probably because most people are probably older (given the average age of the longtime active posters here) and tried a JRPG(s) when they were younger and they were grindfests and they were terrible. For example, I tried Quest 64 when I was younger, among a couple other ones, and that made me stay away from JRPGs for basically forever, and since I really do not like anime or anime-esque art styles, or the generally horribly written nature of JRPGs, or turn-based combat in general, well, I haven't returned. ...Although I actually like Quest 64, but regardless, there's no denying that it's a terrible game that would turn people off from JRPGs for probably life.

So how about those wikileaks, guys?

Le'Veon Bell was suspended for 4 games for missing a drug test, too. (e): https://twitter.com/clarencehilljr/status/756528563273158658 + https://twitter.com/MikeLeslieWFAA/status/756526008170319872

Took a short nap, woke up with a serious asthma attack, one so bad I literally started throwing up while choking for breath. Second time that's ever happened to me - hopefully, it doesn't repeat anytime soon. Nothing like waking up and then feeling like you're actually dying for a few minutes, eh? (e): I gotta say, though, the "no air" bit is bad, but the taste of bile rising as you're trying your hardest to breathe, that's just kicking someone while they're down.

I literally never proofread until it's too late. So I guess to answer your question, me.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-turkey-security-plot-insight-idUSKCN0ZX0Q9 "At height of Turkish coup bid, rebel jets had Erdogan's plane in their sights"

wat That was obviously not supposed to go in this topic. lol
-
Speaking of coups...
-
I think it was too complicated and crazy to be a setup. At one point, the higher ups of the Armed Forces were taken hostage by the coup-ers - supposedly because they were political appointees by Erdogan, and the original higher ups had been purged years earlier. So many bad things could've happened with just that - nevermind the idiots who were blowing up the Grand Assembly, the central lawmaking body in the country...and then with Erdogan trying to gain asylum in Germany and doing the face-time thing while still in his plane. It was just too chaotic and disorganized to be a setup, it seems to me.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jul/16/fethullah-gulen-turkey-coup-erdogan "Fethullah Gülen: Turkey coup may have been 'staged' by Erdoğan regime" Erdogan blames Gulen, Gulen blames Erdogan. Hm.

I have trouble hearing melancholy in any metal, personally...metal's too high-strung and energetic to be melancholy. But then again, I'm not really a metal person to begin with, so it goes without saying that my opinion on such...

lovin' all these unsubstantiated claims about Trump's level of success or lack thereof from you guys Trump hasn't been very successful. Yes, he has. No, he hasn't. Yes, he has. No, he hasn't. Great stuff. As an aside, Trump has spent comparatively very little money on this election vs. Clinton so far. I think the last numbers I saw put Clinton at about 14-15 times as much as Trump (and she had spent somewhere around 50 million). (e): But on the other hand, I'm not sure what criteria those numbers were considering - looking here, where the numbers are completely different, it seems like Hillary has still vastly outspent Trump, but not quite to the effect of 15x as much.
-
It seems as though the coup has definitively failed at this point, for anyone still wondering.
-
The first one seems to be the most likely, currently, especially with his recent "statements" (aka lies) in mind.
-
From the looks of things, it seems like pro-Erdogan forces are probably taking control of the situation, but it's tough to say. There's not too much of any information coming in, so I'm done for now. I will say that it seems like the things Erdogan is saying are baloney - from other reports, it seems like he's already been proven to be lying about the bombing of his hotel, and the Gulen thing seems like total absolute nonsense, too...so yeah, that's great.
-
CNN Turkey is apparently back up and running. Erdogan says the hotel he was staying at before getting on his plane was bombed shortly after he left. I take this last one with a grain of salt.

Erdogan, in a now live press conference, says military coup-ers are taking orders from a man named Fethullah Gülen, who currently lives in Pennslyvania... is this guy on crack cocaine

Erdogan has apparently been spotted at Istanbul's Airport, though: https://twitter.com/Breaking911/status/754119786657878016/photo/1 Helicopters still shooting at the Grand Assembly for some reason...

"Huge explosion" in Ankara was just reported one minute ago. No images/video yet, though, if it's coming.
