...So, uh, when do you get out on the streets to demand they re-open the nuclear power plants? 500 euros for your monthly power bill is insane - unless there's something you're not telling us, like you're running a bitcoin farm or something.

I don't know the significance of that word, and since it's HoonDing saying it, I'm afraid to look it up.

It would've been interesting and a good idea to have at least one of the girls be poor, I think. This show has attempted to display common problems faced by girls growing up, and it's a simple reality that a huge percentage of the world (something most people try to never really think about that everyone could always use a reminder of so they better consider people outside of their bubble) do grow up and live in poverty - even in Japan, where the poverty rate is apparently 16% right now. Ami probably would've made the most most logical choice out of the five, I think - her intelligence and dedication to both her job and schoolwork would've made a good contrast to her poor upbringing, and made clear that even if you're disadvantaged relative to your 'more equal' peers, you can still do better than them and also make friends and be important outside of your station in life. (Well, that's the IDEAL world we live in, anyways...) Additionally, she's so severe and restrained as it is that it would not have made that much of a difference for her anyways. Rei also would've made a good choice in addition to that, given her more traditional lifestyle compared to the others and yet still having plenty of ambitions outside of that and actually working on some of them throughout the series - that and her personality would've just *dared* others to ever question or make fun of her on it. Hell, it could've been used as a primary reason for her being aggressive about life in general. Usagi and Minako would've made the worst choices for being poor, given their lack of desire to accomplish basically anything, . Some interesting things could've been done with that, but I guess the writers already had more than they could handle! (e): 3000 edits later, I more or less have my complete thoughts on this finished (e): nope, had more

I mean, it was only the first two episodes. I guess I shouldn't be so quick to judge - it could eventually get better than Sailor Moon. You know, at some point during its exactly one season of airing.

Alternatively, you can share them anonymously like the rest of us plebeians. But of course, if share you them anonymously, nobody knows who you are and you have no platform...but it does allow you to rant and rave to your heart's content and not get fired from your job for being a contemptible laughingstock. Pros and cons, really.

I ended up not watching it because MODERATION. That, and because a friend wanted to watch a couple of episodes of stupid Speed Racer instead. Spoiler warning: Speed Racer is sadly not as good as Sailor Moon. Shocking! @majestic

I unironically love that channel with all those clips. The original dub is terrible, but it has some gold bits.

Hey, the original English is what convinced me, and by extension, you and Majestic, to re/watch this show! And then you have some lovely Oblivion dialogue here..:

They've seemingly put a lot of effort into having...more unique minions this season. Man, season 3 is so good. I'm probably gonna have to take a break and watch something else after it ends so season 4 doesn't feel like complete garbage in comparison - it'll at least give it more of a chance than if I try to watch it immediately after. (e): Gosh dang it, and Minako stars the next episode according to the preview, and it looks amazing, too. I already watched way too many episodes today...

I told you not to look! Gah, Sailor Moon has been cancelled from the universe until further notice! @majestic
-
My reaction to that was, "Oh, neat, they can use their experience from working on the Dark Crystal to really do it justice...wait, the Dark Crystal was cancelled because it was too expensive to produce...oh no, it's going to be absolute garbage-tier CGI a la their Watership Down remake series, isn't it? Into the trash it goes." (e): I guess they could also do some 2D animation as well, which could be fine. Guess we'll have to wait and see to find out.

That's true - the "villains-behind-the-villains" usually last longer, considering they're not getting murdered either by the Pretty Guardians or by their master. @majestic
-
I wasn't too fond of...Esmeraude(?) either. I swear they pronounce it "Esmeralde" in the English dub. The good news with this show is that if one villain isn't very good, you're never that far off until you get to the next one, right?

Oddly enough, this was the most dominant performance by a Tom Brady-lead team in a Super Bowl. The only Super Bowl he's won where they won by more than a touchdown was two years ago against the Rams in that awful 13-3 clunker that literally everybody has forgotten already because it was so remarkably unremarkable. (e): a word

Now you're getting it - Guard Dog for President of the Communist States 2024, everybody!

holy **** lmao I'm dead

Uh, that wasn't in the script, Minako...

It does seem like great defense + decent offense usually beats great offense + decent defense. Not always...but certainly a lot of the time when it's counted the most. ...Although the Buccaneers were surprisingly the top 3rd scoring offense (only 17 points behind the first, the Packers), and the top 8th scoring defense. Of course, they seemingly played on a different level besides on both ends once they got into the playoffs.

If you're already content with your job and career and not completing the degree will affect it not at all, then there really is no point anyways, especially seeing as experience is almost always more valuable anyhow. I despise teachers like that. I had a couple of those - similar to you, they best illustrated to me how useless it was to actually try to apply yourself when you could just slack off and instead put in a minimum amount of effort at the very last second using a combination of being just a little more intelligent than everyone else (it's amazing how far being 'thoughtful' can get you with so many people...not everyone, but a lot of them), being able to absorb just enough information on the fly to get the right ideas, and a good heaping of BSing. To be honest, I never learned how to study or take notes ever - at a certain point, I became determined to spend as little time absorbing as little information as possible, because realistically, information I would need in the future I would re-learn at greater length and detail than I'd ever be able to do in school with its break-neck pace, so what was the point? Get top marks doing as little as possible, nothing else matters, . I cared more the last two years of high school than I did all the years previous and the years after. The reason? I had a run of a few really great teachers. Big surprise, .

"In other words, you come out of it when you're 19 and have "half" a Bachelor's degree under your belt. But in a way I paid for that with my youth. Because we're talking 36 to 40 hours of classes per week (nominally it's 32 to 36 depending on the year, but there are always "optional" extracurricular activities you attend because you "want" to), then there's homework, project work and to top it off I had a three hour commute per day (at a good day, missing a train meant it was four hours). Oh, right, and you're supposed to study at some point as well. Huh." It doesn't sound like you have anything to feel bad for - as a matter of fact, it sounds like you worked a lot harder than I ever did in school. Actually, now I'm starting to see why Ami is your favorite...

Oh crap, was there really not a monster in that episode at all? I totally overlooked that. Hell yeah to dinosaurs then! Sometimes, I get the feeling that the whole 4 year and beyond university system is a complete joke for the majority of fields. Well, would you look at the time, seems like it's just about time to send the next generation through...

Oh boy, projects were always my kryptonite. It's not that I'm necessarily anemic towards actually completing something functionally useful - I work on and complete projects of various technical degrees for my own purposes all the time, after all. It's more that I can't...roleplay and make up imaginary problems fitting ultra-broad goals and criteria and try to react to and solve them as if they're real. Give me something concrete that I actually need to fix or solve, and I can at least put mind to it and probably get it done. Alas, that's never how they ever went. Nevertheless, I did manage to finish four years of college with a 4.0 GPA...and I don't feel like I actually accomplished or learned a single thing the entire time. It takes real talent to be given so much and do so little with it, . I'm not sure if dinosaurs actually truly exist in the Sailor Moon universe. I can only assume that particular episode was total filler, and the writers went on a bender.

Very poignant for me, given the last episode I watched was S3E11.
