Didn't he already do that with his previous personal lawyer, Michael Cohen? Didn't that also have bad results? Clearly not bad enough since he's still the president, but you think you'd just pay the guy to prevent more crap from spilling out at this point.

What Are You Playing Now: The meaning of life

Yuppie Psycho. An isometric 2D indie horror exploration/adventure(?) game that is actually good. I say that because I've tried several other isometric indie horror games over the past couple of years, and they usually end up being very limited in scope, very linear, and fairly unsatisfying - this was the first one that felt like a genuinely good and complete experience. Also, the setting is bizarre - you're some rando poor in a near-future semi-dystopia trying to get on up in the world by accepting a new job at some corporation's headquarters...and the job you're hired on for is to slay a witch that's been haunting the premises for like the last 40 years, but also, the people still working here have kind of just gotten used to it, even though the entire building is a wreck and many of their co-workers just mysteriously disappear without a trace. Okay then! -
The only time I'm in favor of changing a 4:3 show to widescreen is if the show was originally filmed for it (or something approaching it, depending on the cameras used) but was forced to 4:3 as a result of when it came out. Very little animation (unless it had an actual theatrical release) was made for anything but 4:3 prior to widescreen becoming the standard, so it's usually impossible for that to happen. To be honest though, I don't really care whether something is 4:3 or 16:9 or anything else so long as it contains the complete picture (...unless the complete picture causes it to be ridiculously shrunk within the constraints of the resolution, I guess, but I've never heard of that happening).

I'll have to keep up with what people think about the German BD, I guess. Even the newer Japanese BDs didn't seem to be held in high esteem, so I'm a little skeptical, but we'll see! And hey, 16:9 pillarboxed is significantly better than cropped 16:9 a la many other shows, so I'll gladly take that, .

@majestic I did a whole big research thing on the BDs vs. the DVDs. The consensus seemed to be that the movies looked better on BD, but all of the show looked better on DVD. Well, besides maybe Sailor Stars, there wasn't a lot of information on that one (yet?) from what I could tell. Strangely, it seemed to also be the consensus that the Italian DVDs had the best quality out of the various DVD sources. I'm not really sure why that would be. I'll be sure to remember when that moment comes and see what they have to say in the English dub, .

I'm only like 2/3rds of the way through R, so from here on out, you're gonna be way ahead of me, I guess! The good thing is, it'll probably take long enough for me to get to to S and SuperS that if you spoil anything in them, I won't remember what it was by the time I get to it. Whereas in contrast, I literally just met Saphir and Demande and now I already know their fates...buuut they seemed to basically just be Dark Kings clones, so it was kind of predictable that'd happen anyways.

I was going to report both of you while calling each of you belligerent dumb***es if it went any further, but I guess that works too, . The great thing about reports is that you can say anything you want in them. Right? ...Right?

And then McCarthy hired his old Packers DB coach, Joe Whitt. It's not that there's anything necessarily wrong with these guys, it's just...it's same old McCarthy doing the same old crap, and I just can't think this is going to really work out.
-
Seems like an absolutely lousy choice. Mike McCarthy has been famous for picking or staying with bad coordinators he's friends with. I can't help but think the McCarthy isn't long for Dallas and this is all just a waste of several years.

Yeah, if the Obsidian forums required my ID, even if they supposedly keep it private, I'd have gladly been gone without a word. Madness. (e): Also, apparently they had additional features for people who submitted their social security numbers? ...I don't see how this can possibly be true, that'd be just insane, but it is what I heard. (e): Photos for the IDs and stuff also weren't scrubbed of metadata, so you can literally find like geolocation data in the photos for each user, too... -
We (we being the hospitals in my local area, potentially across the state/country but I don't make so grand a claim as such) are having the exact same problem regarding vaccination compliance, literally right about the same place at around 50% refusal to comply as well. You guys have seen how many people die of this virus, you are working hands-on with everyone (including those NOT infected) and still go home to your families each day...what's wrong with all of you?

For some reason, I can't find anything when I search for Biden with any of these characters. Huh, weird. -
Uh, okay, but no, I did not. All I said is Anya Taylor-Joy has been a great actress in the titles I've seen her in.
-
Getting shades of latter-day Mike McCarthy-and-the-Packers with Pete Carroll...
-
I'm not sure how I feel about the subject material (I like Chess well enough, but I don't care about it at all in a competitive sense), but Anya Taylor-Joy has been great in everything I've seen her in, and everybody loves the show, so it's difficult not to be interested.

I thought for sure China would take advantage of our extreme foreign policy weakness under Trump and put the kaibosh on Taiwan while Trump was president. Trump has been so wishy-washy in committing to the defense of any allies, and I just didn't see him giving enough of a crap about Taiwan to potentially start World War III over it if China decided to take it...when he could just decide not to. Thankfully, China has not yet pushed the issue. -

Yep. Publications have started officially calling for Warnock. Ossof will probably take longer, but at a >95% chance, he has almost certainly won as well. A monumental achievement by the Democrats to take Georgia like this. (e): I've been spelling his name "Ossof" all night and apparently it's "Ossoff". Whoops. -

And back in reality, there is no path of victory remaining for Warnock's opponent, Warnock has been given a >95% chance to win (final margin likely to be a ~2 point victory). There is only the smallest sliver of a chance for Ossof's opponent to win, but it is very small indeed (6%). We're just waiting for one particular Atlanta county to drop its results before this is called for at least Warnock and possibly Ossof as well. (e): And there you go, Warnock has officially taken the lead back, with Ossof only very slightly trailing (but with the big drop without any surprise shift, his opponent also no longer has any remaining path of victory). -

A few experts have already called it for Warnock, and Ossof is looking better and better as well. Looking pretty likely to be a 50-50 Senate. Wow, Georgia! (e): Warnock at over a 90% chance now, Ossof just outside of 80% (the margin of error). Could thankfully have this settled by tonight. -

NYT (which tracks where the results are coming from and models their ongoing prediction of who will win based on who's over- or under-performing where - correctly predicted Biden barely winning Georgia a few months ago very early into the race based on the same kind of early returns even when Biden was down big) gives both Democratic candidates about a ~1 point lead right now. Other election experts saying they favor the Democrats as well at this point. (e): Inching closer and closer towards Democrat Warnock winning, currently sitting at an 80% chance with what's left - just about the margin of error. Democrat Ossof is still doing well as well, but not quite as much as Warnock, at about a 65% chance. -

I normally wouldn't mind a split Congress, but these are unusual times (and also, at best, it'd be a 50-50 split so nothing too radical for the Democratic agenda with the few more conservative senators like Manchin still around). There's nothing more I'd like to see than that ghoul McConnell lose Senate Majority Leader. -
2020 taketh and 2021 giveth? It's a good start to a new year! (e): Apparently, she's still in critical condition (and also, while she did go to the hospital in December, her death was reported as a couple of days ago, not then, so not 2020's fault).
