  2. Really enjoyed these interviews, both with Chris and Tim Cain. Good stuff. Wish there had been some more questions regarding Troika in general as well as Bloodlines, but can't have everything. I think his views on F3 makes sense. Since it was set on the East Coast (which was a great idea I think), I was pretty disappointed that they re-used things such as the Super Mutants and FEV so heavily. But yeah... I always hoped they'd keep more of the original gameplay but break away from the lore of the old games (since it's a different setting) but oh well. Finding it hard to get excited about MMOs these days but his ideas are pretty much what I always wanted from MMOs. Will be hard to break into that market for sure but hopefully it can lead to something good.
  3. Damn, I hope someone manages to film this or can at least write up a transcript or something.
  4. This, a thousand times this.
  5. At least it may make for some fun moments where I can claim that Bioware ripped off Obsidian and watch the Bioware forums explode?
  6. I don't mind the casino games being minigames, I think that'll fit in pretty good. But I found it sorta lame that they showed it off in the E3 presentation, because really... Roulette, Blackjack, Slots. Yeah, we know about these things... Why show them off?
  7. As did I. With some tweaking, it could be a really great system. The main problem with DA was the encounter design as previously pointed out. But the tougher battles were extremely fun and the combat system worked very well there.
  8. If "better games" means games more liked by the mainstream, I don't want OEI to succeed I suppose. I'm selfish like that. And wow, having a pre-determined human character for DA just kicked down my interest several notches. A lot of the beauty of DA was creating a character, especially with how they set up the Origins and races. Essentially, the old-school roleplaying injected with next-gen budgets. I had hoped they would expand on that but this just sounds like a step towards the ME style. Hoping they have something up their sleeve but I'll be skeptical for now.
  9. Hell yeah
  10. So lame in a way. The fact that Uruguay could practically cheat (Suarez acting goalie, would've been a goal otherwise) likely allowed them to win the game in the end. Exciting game but still... Very lame.
  11. That's a very good interview and Feargus is pretty open about answering stuff. Well worth a read!
  12. Feargus has a really hyper way about him, I wonder how many cups of coffee he has each day. I like watching interviews with him though because while he sometimes talk very fast, there is an undeniable feeling that he is excited about what he does. I guess the main thing I'd object to in that interview is when he talks about how rulessystems are sometimes too hard and all that. I mean, yes... sometimes they really do get unnecessarily complex. But at the same time, part of the fun for me when it comes to RPGs is digging into a meaty and diverse rulesystem. Now, the system should always be well presented to the player, but I for one enjoy the complexities. Sometimes hard or complex is not a bad thing. So while DS3 will be an action-heavy, easy-to-use game, I still hope there is enough depth to it so that you can really "dig into it" so to speak.
  13. Albatross- 17 (-1) Seriously... This guy is just not as cool as I thought he'd be. Conrad Marburg- 13 (+1) But this guy rocks! Henry Leland- 19 Hong Shi- 5 Konstantin Brayko- 18 Mina Tang- 6 Omen Deng- 21 SIE- 22 Scarlet Lake- 23 Sis- 23 Steven Heck- 23
  14. If you avoid a massacre in the Taipei hotel: Leland: "Still worried about civilian casualties Agent Thorton?" Mike: "Nah, I just don't like shooting bell boys... [in a faked sad voice] They look like sad little clowns." Suave Mike is the best.
  15. Pretty sure it's in Moscow. I wonder what that picture is all about.
  16. All I have to say... Screw the goddamn spiders in System Shock 2, screw them to hell. I have no idea why, but even after encountering spiders in a million computer games since, the ones in System Shock 2 just creep me the hell out. The way you sometimes just see their dark silhouette in the dark... Yeaaarghh. Playing Alpha Protocol by the side also, will take a break from it after this playthrough (I really will this time damnit). Fun to play two "hybrid" games next to each other. I think SS2 is better (but it's also very very high on my all-time fav list) but I really like both of them.
  17. The only time the slowness of the combat system bothered me in Fallout 1 was in the Boneyard. Other than that, I think they did a fairly good job of keeping the encounters... not too lengthy (unless you flat out attack settlements i mean). This was not the case in F2 where there are quite a few big battles, along with a lot of random encounters involving several factions (who all have to take their turns...). Speaking of the older games, there's an interview with Tim Cain up on youtube for those who are interested. I think the interviewer also did an episode on Chris Avellone a while back. Pretty fun if you're interested in the history behind the series.
  18. Same here. I for one am glad to play something that feels fresh and that pushes for player interactivity, even in a very story-driven environment. It's too bad that some people don't see that, but whoever trusts reviews anyways (well, the EU reviews have been pretty good, so...)? Definite thumbs up for AP as far as I'm concerned.
  19. Alan Parker- 4 Albatross- 16 Conrad Marburg- 11 Henry Leland- 12 Hong Shi- 12 Konstantin Brayko- 14 Mina Tang- 9 (+1) Omen Deng- 18 Ronald Sung- 7 SIE- 21 Scarlet Lake- 24 Sis 21 (-1) Steven Heck- 20
  20. Well, Ghana won in the end but USA fought to the end. Probably one of the most fun matches so far, very entertaining.
  21. Well I'll be... 1-1 now after USA got a penalty kick. Might be a real exciting game here.
  22. Alan Parker- 5 Albatross- 16 Ali Shaheed- 2 Conrad Marburg- 10 Henry Leland- 11 Hong Shi- 11 Konstantin Brayko- 14 Mina Tang- 8 Omen Deng- 18 Ronald Sung- 7 SIE- 21 (+1) Bambababaambam bambababaaaambam bambababaaam Scarlet Lake- 22 Sis- 22 (-1) We've got to silence this chick... again. Steven Heck- 20 Yancy Westridge- 2
  23. Mike: "I'm looking for a man... but not in that way."
  24. From what we've read in previews, it seems like they're aiming for the first part of 2011. No release dates yet though.
  25. You guys have awful taste! Alan Parker- 6 Albatross- 16 Ali Shaheed- 7 Conrad Marburg- 10 Grigori Pazinhov- 3 (+1) Grigori is awesome because of how connected he is to the rest of Moscow, plus you can headslam him if you don't like him. Henry Leland- 11 Hong Shi- 11 Konstantin Brayko- 14 Mina Tang- 8 Omen Deng- 18 Ronald Sung- 7 SIE- 17 Scarlet Lake- 19 Sis- 20 (-1) Most overrated character since Tali! Steven Heck- 18 Yancy Westridge- 3
