  1. Some fairly high quality cam footage: http://www.gamereactor.eu/grtv/?id=8803 I have no idea what the player is doing but you get a pretty good look at the Strip, an indoor location (which looks exactly like F3 almost), a farm which I assume is related to Goodsprings and a monorail station in Vegas. Looking pretty damn good overall.
  2. I'm waiting on it as well, kinda want the patch before I do another replay. It's just sad that it should take so much time to fix it for us EUs, but yep...
  3. He's still looking into it with SEGA. These things take time (unfortunately, given that it seems to be a fairly simple fix after all).
  4. I would be very wary if I were you. I had a similar situation (in fact, I think it was Alexander as well) where me and the other civilization ended up rampaging on a continent together. If they *are* acting militaristic and are expanding/conquering like crazy, it's very likely that they will turn on you eventually even if you've helped each other out in the past.
  5. Yeah, it just really seems to depend on your general playstyle what you do with conquered cities. I don't think Puppet States are a good long terms solution though. I figure you gotta weigh in the options and situation when you conquer a city. If you really need the happiness, you can always make it a Puppet State and then Annex it later on when you're in a better spot. Of course, if you're playing culturally (it's fully possible to get into wars still) you'll be better off razing them to the ground. Christ, I've been playing this way too much lately. Haven't had any work either since the game was released... I'm seeing hexagons everywhere.
  6. I usually randomize map type and all that and ended up on the one with lots of smaller islands (whatever it's called). I never liked this type of map particularly much before but it's a real blast now. Especially since having a smaller empire is very viable and having a strong navy can be extremely useful.
  7. The writing was rather hammy but I loved the visual style there and the music. Hopefully they can do something good with it.
  8. Persia are my neighbours at the moment, our borders are clashing. He starts up a war every now and then, but when I manage to defend against his attacking forces I can go on the offensive and burn down one of his cities without too much trouble, bwaaha. Playing on a large map, with everything else randomized, it took a fairly long time before I started getting into wars myself. And I wasn't deliberately playing diplomatically (though I do tend to lean towards that kind of playstyle). But I really enjoy that the game feels kinda slower-paced, and individual units are more important. Loving the game (and the warfare is superfun) but the Prince difficulty (Normal) is a bit too easy.
  9. This game... I love it. Also, not completely sure but I think only allied city-states will go to war with any civilization you're having a war with, and not the city-states who're just friends? Not completely sure there.
  10. Fun trailer. Hope the game won't suck.
  11. My memory is a bit shaky but I'm pretty sure Good Natured (raised Speech and a few other non-combat skills and decreased combat skills) was in at least one of the other games, probably both. EDIT: Ninja'd!
  12. If you check NMA, one of the dudes posted a summary of a preview from the french magazine CanardPC. This magazine really didn't like FO3 (didn't feel like it held up well) and also, as I recall, refused to write up a review of the game until they had their hands on it (I believe many other "exclusive" reviews were based on spending a certain amount of time with it at an event that Bethesda organized). Good news is that they are very impressed with the quests they saw in the preview, and that there were ample possibilities for solving it in different ways. As an example, there was a combat-heavy section which proved too difficult for the player (who had not invested much in combat skills) but he was able to find another way, sneak past the baddies and talk with the leader and solve the situation via Speech. It's pretty spoilery (for that quest at least) but it's heartening to read that he feels there was a lot of depth to it.
  13. EDIT: Wrong topic lollergagz
  14. I've already been sucked into the demo, haha.
  15. I hate that I have to wait since I'm in the EU. Damnit.
  16. Obsidian doesn't have a community manager at the moment but a developer is looking into it and contacting SEGA. Hopefully that'll lead to something.
  17. I don't like the robot myself but the thing that I suspect will make me adore Civ V combat is the one unit per tile. I think that will make a huge (positive) change for how wars play out. City States are also looking like they will have a pretty big impact on how things can play out.
  18. No. They released models, writing (which was extremely good I might add) and a little "program" or whatever you can call it which gave a taste of how dialogue/text adventuring would work. I think there was also a character creator.
  19. It's probably one of the better vids around though so good to re-watch it. I don't know if they ever confirmed if the music was a part of the soundtrack but it does sound like it could fit right in. Plus I think I hear a sample from the Hub music in there. It sounds pretty damn good at any rate.
  20. Pretty sure that was posted here already considering it's about a month old. EDIT: And Spirit Eater mechanic rocks.
  21. It's pretty interesting to see the struggles with democracy though. Seeing as how the Swedish Democrats did get such strong support and many of the other parties are trying to "suffocate" and push them down. I think it's scary as hell that they made it into parliament myself but is it really democratic to try and push them down and basically "bully" them? It's a pretty interesting situation. But I'm pretty angry overall with the voters for being so uninformed and short-sighted that they would put their votes down for SD. It also shows the bad sides of democracy in a way because, well... I wonder in all honest just how many people in Sweden actually voted after having actually done research and knowing what their party *really* stands for. Even if you're angry, who in their right mind would vote for SD after really doing their research? It's not exactly a party that have proven themselves to be serious or capable. It's obviously impossible to tell but I think a huge number of votes are completely uninformed. Just how many people are on auto-pilot voting for the Social Democrats just because they've always done so? It's probably the same case with the Moderates.
  22. Ate two boiled eggs for lunch. Not sure if that was the reason, but after a few hours I had the worst stomachache I can remember ever having. Was trying to vacuum the apartment but had to go lie down because it hurt so much. Was actually contemplating calling the emergency line but luckily it passed and is now getting better and better. But wow, that sucked. The boiled eggs is the only reason I can think of, it's been a long time since I ate boiled ones (usually fry them). Also, a crappy day ended in a crappy way when following the swedish elections. It's gonna be a long 4 years until the next election...
  23. Justin is awesome because he plays (played?) FFXI and implemented the Hellfire Warlock class for Storm of Zehir.
  24. New Vegas followers and some descriptions of them and their abilities can be found here: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/09/15/...ons/#more-35908 Sounds like it could be a pretty interesting bunch.
  25. I also get the start-up error when trying to use the patched version. I'm using a STEAM copy bought in the EU. So yep, looks like it might be a problem for non-US users then?
