  1. Well Rangers are simultaneously boring and too micro imho. Ranged damage? Go Rogue or Wizard or Druid. Aggro? Fighter. DPS? Again Rogue and any number of multiclass. For what it does it just doesn't seem worth it. Also Maia is one of the better characters so that might push players away from choosing a Ranger PC.
  2. Rogues are top tier class PoE2 imho, whereas there were bottom in PoE1. 1. Single they are backstabbing, crit DPS maniacs, with a huge bump to utility with the new per encounter system. 2. Multi they are extremely versatile. 3. They are critical for dungeon diving. I'm gonna say Ranger, but I don't think it's a huge gap.
  3. So as great as PoE1 was, there were a few things that bugged me from a RP perspective which are remedied in the sequel: 1. Your race being recognized, esp Godlike. This adds so much more to the characters imo. 2. Peaceful resolutions. At one pt in PoE1 I started to feel guilty for all the slaughtering I was doing. But I didn't feel like I had options. Not the case in PoE2. 3. Skill checks vs. Attribute checks. If you didn't pump Int or Res in PoE1 you missed out on a TON of checks. Not the case in PoE2. Sure attributes have their place, but I enjoy checks mostly from my skills, allowing more freedom in how I build my char. What about ya'll? What design decisions are you digging with the sequel?
  4. Appreciate the responses. Going to go Shifter. I ran through BG2 first time with a Shapeshifter and was loads of fun if not a little underpowered late game so will enjoy playing a more powerful version. No healing for Fury is too much sacrifice ror me. Ps was it Neverwinter Nights you could shift into a Mind Flayer and some other powerful nasties?
  5. Correction, you don't need to kill anyone. If you make peace between both families you get Duskfall from one familty, and unique mace from other one. Violence usually gets least rewards :D Hahaha thanks for the clarification. It was in my Swashbuckler's nature to play the merc for hire
  6. Duskfall, the SICK longsword you get for killing the head of the Valeras household. Add +20% Crit damage and wield with Rogue Assassin or Streetfighter.
  7. First playthrough has been with a violent Orlan Swashbuckler. It's been fun but knowing how the new systems work (compared to PoE1) I want to roll something different for my comprehensive 2nd playthrough (i.e. all DLCs). The single classes that catch my eye are: 1. Fury Druid 2. Priest of Wael 3. Shifter Druid Going for a more peaceful playthrough. Anyone have experience or thoughts on these? From both a combat and RP perspective. Thanks.
  8. Serafen kept saying how we need to address the situation quickly so I did. Guess I missed an insight check because never once was it mentioned what Remaro did so the quest was quite vague. Plus I'm a Swashbuckler and wanted to deal with those pirates. I slaughtered them first try head to head on a low level (4 or 5?) party.
  9. Asks you to save her hatchlings... 'Do you any idea how much pain your kind caused me in PoE1?!' *slaughters entire tribe*
  10. I killed them in the next room. They were right outside with the door open as we fought for five minutes. I know all that. Doesn't change the fact that quest is super awkward. Plus the woman gets arrested for the crime not me lol. Apparently its perfect fine to slaughter ppl unless you're the mastermind behind it.
  11. They messed up Eder plain and simple. Besides the very first line when you ask him "Who are you?" He is just distant and sullen. I mean we killed an fn Adra Dragon at the bottom of a 15 floor dungeon for Gods sake. We lived in a castle. And you can barely mutter a few words except of your displeasure for Xioti and me stealing something (ha). Surprised they dropped the ball because the writing for others esp Aloth is better. And Shark dude may be one of my fav companions ever.
  12. Mind you, I'm doing my best to stay engaged, but some of this stuff is bugged, lazy, or downright nonsensical. The biggest example I can give is in the Family Pride quest between the warring families (spoilers ahead): So I made my way to Hole, after talking to the brother/cousin who plays the lute and gives you information on where to find his sister, who will eventually key you in the opposing family's plans. Well I get there and have an option where I declare their plans for the heist WHICH I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I KNOW but I try to be clever and eventually slaughter them, take evidence of the plans, and tell the Sister to get lost. Well anyone with an ounce of brainpower would assume that either the plan was off or some sort of consequence would happen after slaughtering the would be heisters... but no, the family assumes more burglars will come, and they do. Ok, kill them. And we decide to kill the head of the other family. This is where it just gets ridiculous. So I WALK INTO the house, without a single objection. No dialogue no stealth no nothing. No worries, you just had about 10 conspirators killed by my hands, no need to be alarmed that a random party of pirates is in your house. I make my way upstairs and interrupt a convo between the father and brother. The dialogue options are straight looney. Without any caution the father ASKS IF I CAN KILL EMPLOYER. Oh yeah, hey random party of people that just appeared. Here's our plan! So I stumble through the dialogue and eventually attack and kill them. But luckily I can just waltz out of the house without any guards stopping me. So yeah, a completely unbelievable quest that had me both confused, mad, and chuckling. Sorry for bad grammar/spelling on phone.
  13. The amount of bugs specifically in dialogue are unacceptable. I'm only 15 hrs in and what feels like most encounters have dialogue missing or something I should know.
  14. I must have missed something but I thought I exhausted all dialogue.
