  1. Have you beaten the game? Will Eder still end up camping near his ex's grave if Bearn dies? Or if Eder comes crawling back? I'm asking because that's a crappy ending I really want to avoid. Frankly, I have half a mind to just let Bearn die because, hey, it's one thing to ask around for an old flame of Eder's since he's a friend, but quite another to drop everything and rush after the old flame's son who we only met once and don't really know. I mean, WTF? I actually wish there was an dialog option that says "I don't give a s**t" cuz I really don't, that's how badly the quest is written.
  2. Yeah, I think Xoti is seriously bugged. Either that or she's dangerously needy when it comes to love. Apart from her apparently inexplicable crush on my Watcher (who, like myself, is not religious at all so I really don't see why she'd be attracted), she also wants to have a go at Eder, and when I tried to discourage her I found that I could choose to kiss her (which I didn't but which she obviously wouldn't object to, according to the writing) or even suggest "why not go for Maia instead," and she agreed like "yeah she's so pretty" - even though Maia hadn't joined at that point! Adding that to her hysterical outburst only seconds after Pallegina joins the party (literally, before you even leave the VTC building), this character is looking more and more deranged. Which is a shame because I quite liked her (and her Southern drawl) when I first met her, but now I actively try to avoid taking her whenever I go, unless an area proves too difficult without a priest's healing.
  3. Thank you so much DexGames! Really appreciate your help!
  4. Bumping my previous post, which is quickly getting buried under all those great portraits that came after. Could anyone help with the watercolorisation of these? (I realize everyone's probably busy playing the game... Me, I'm giving up my current PT and waiting for a few patches first, so...) A big thanks in advance!
  5. Check the Difficulty tab in the game's options. Make sure that "Show Companion Relationship Info" setting is on - without that, you won't be able to see your relationships in the Relationships screen.
  6. One quick, stupid question: how do you check your relation with any companion? I go to reputation page and only see description of my pc's disposition, and companions' relation with each other, but not their relation with pc... Am I missing something?
  7. Thanks Sylph_14! So, here's a portrait I found and liked - female elf with short hair seems to be a rare breed lol (btw there's also not a decent short hair style in the character creation part in game...). If anyone could help with a watercolor version I'd be really grateful. It's under the 'More Reply Options' button, right beside the 'Post' one.
  8. Sorry for the stupid question, I'm new here (only a few text posts so far). How do I attach images to my post? I see the "attach file" option when starting a new topic, but not when I want to add a reply to this thread...
  9. As is the case with many people, my current Eder is bugged, should be mayor but has NM medallion, and his quest (looking for some old acquaintance) also seems to have to do with his time with the group. I'm considering abandoning this PT and wait for a couple of (or more) patches (RIP my 20+ hours though). So, without spoiling too much of anything, can someone let me know if mayor Eder has a different quest from Night Market Eder? Just a yes or no answer will do. Thanks!
  10. So actually this post is about 2 bugs; I did a search and there doesn't seem to be a thread about this. Here goes: 1. Sometimes the + sign on enchantable items simply disappears. I noticed this when I wanted to check a recipe for an item (which I had never enchanted) but couldn't click into it. (Solved this by loading an earlier save, but still thought it worth pointing out.) 2. For some reason, I couldn't select certain recipes even though I had all the ingredients (including cp) available and in sufficient quantity. Unless there's some hidden requirement (of which the recipes mention nothing), this is surely a bug?
  11. Yes, I also encountered that bug. As soon as Pallegina joined Xoti got hysterical. Pretty sure it's not supposed to happen like this. And my Eder's bugged too (should be mayor but with Night Market). I really hope this coming patch will fix this. Am ready to abandon my first PT as it stands. Sigh.
  12. I checked and just realized this is actually one of the "known major issues": "Players who completed Pillars 1 with Eder becoming mayor of Dyrford may notice that he became a member of the Night Market instead during Deadfire." https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/97374-known-major-issues/ Damn. Now I keep wondering what mayor Eder's story would be.
  13. Edit: Never mind, it seems to be a 14 int. check indeed. Though I would say this should have to do with insight according to the stats descriptions. arober can I ask what your stats are? (Insight, perception, intelligence...) Wait for a couple of hours. When I initially got to his room, he wasn't there, but I waited for like 7 hours and he showed up and I triggered his OCD.
  14. My problem is Eder should be the mayor of Gilded Vale according to my POE1 endgame save, but here he says he worked with the Night Market, sigh...
  15. Damn, my main character is dumb lol Only 11 int. Will try and buff it up and see. Thanks!
  16. In addition to the bird that came with pre-order I've picked up 5 dogs so far, but I've just noticed that their party-wide bonus isn't working. For example when I equip Deus (white doggie), who is supposed to grant +1 Constitution, it only applies to my main character and no other party members. Abraham (labrador) is supposed to reduce armor recovery penalty, but the stats don't change at all with him around. Anyone has this problem?
  17. This is my 2nd attempt at the quest. The first time I went to the Hole before getting this quest, so when I saw his OCD behaviour there obviously wasn't any relevant comment to make. I thought maybe that was the problem so I reloaded and tried again, this time visiting Biha and getting the quest first. But both times are the same: I have the option to lie and say he's needed at the mill (whatever purpose that serves - has anyone found out?), the option to buy his place (oddly there're 2 offers I can make: 1000 and 1200cp), but no option to convince him to give it up (by pointing out the uneven number etc.). I have 5 insight and 15 perception. I could also ask Rust to kill him (but don't like the idea). How high do you need the stats for that convince option to become available??
  18. No, of course it's not only the translators' fault. Like I said, quality control is very important in game localisation and most people just don't realize how complicated and time-consuming it is. Sadly Obsidian seem to be also among those people. I really hope they do their non-English speaking fans justice and begin to take translation/localisation seriously.
  19. I like the idea too. I even wish he had a slot for equipping non-combatant pet, it just fits his personality so well - I'm ranger in game and animal lover in real life but I'm willing to give him the slot!
  20. That sums it up perfectly. I also used to be a full-time translator (40+ books) until I got fed up with being paid peanuts and got out As I live in Taiwan and Chinese is my mother tongue, when the game launched the interface automatically appeared in Chinese (Simplified though, different from Traditional, which we use here). But instead of a nice surprise (I wasn't a backer and didn't realize there'd be a Chinese version) this came as an unpleasant jolt, because the translation was so bad I couldn't even figure out what some phrases were supposed to mean - and I hadn't even actually started playing! So the very first thing I did was go to Options and change the language to English (and I never want to look at the Chinese version again). Also, my husband is head of the localisation team at a sizable game publisher, so I know how important (and how seriously overlooked and underestimated) QC is when it comes to multi-language version of games. The underlying idea seems to be, hey, at least we bothered; at least you have a translation (of sorts), right? That's got to be better than none at all. But no, it's definitely not better and usually a lot worse. Essentially what it amounts to is an insult to the devs' hard work in making a quality game, and to players who speak that language. It's just like you said: if they don't have the money, or don't know or care enough to do it, then don't.
  21. Like you, I played the first game on GOG (no White March though) and bought this one on Steam. Started playing last night and the import seemed to work OK. Not sure about uninstalling though, maybe you want to copy and save that folder just in case.
