What makes you think whatever the next generation rifle ends up being shall prove inferior? True story: several of our super-secret squirrel boys are running around the sandbox with Vietnam-era M14s out of personal choice. A rifle's a rifle's a rifle; if you don't know how to shoot, slapping all the whiz-bang **** you can think of onto a receiver's not going to make a lick of difference. If you can shoot, you can hit what you want with anything, so the whiz-bang **** becomes redundant. Star Wars Galaxies....for ****'s sake, help me! The lag is horrible, and my frame rate is god awful for some damned reason, even though I far surpass the requirements, the missions are all the same (kill X number of X enemies)...but I played it for a good 12 hours the first time I booted it up....didn't even go to sleep. What the hell's wrong with me?

I think it looks disgusting. My personal opinion on why we aren't acquiring it? It's German. I'm rather fond of the idea of keeping the primary rifle for all US military branches coming from an American manufacturer, myself. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd rather my soldiers be equipped with the best means to survive in modern fire fights, made in some foreign country, than with inferior weapons designed by an American company. Yes, it helps our economy, but I could care less. I just want as many of our people to come home breathing as possible...I'm weird like that. And I think it looks neat...all futurey and Starship Troopery and what-not.

Have you......have you heard a penguin hitting a propellor? I think there's been a Rodian Jedi...I'm pretty sure...and I definitely want the choice to be another race when I make my character, along with more options for customization. A character creation system like those found in most MMORPGs would be nice.

Neither game is buggy once you've installed all the available patches. The problem with Bloodlines is that many (though not all) players experience very low framerates, stuttering sound and other issues on systems that can handle visually similar games without a problem. And the 'minimum system requirements', more than in most games, is verging on the dishonest. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never got any bugs in Arcanum...but Bloodlines, even with the official patch...is a buggy mess for me. Playable, but a mess.

Might be a clue, Ape. ^_^ I like the sound of Knights of the New Republic. Fits well, considering all the things you've done to either preserve, or destroy the Republic...or the Sith. All the stuff about a powerful enemy lingering out there, which Revan and the Exile go off to combat, leads me to believe that a New Republic would be required to fend off this threat. As for LA being.......less than civil in their duties as a publisher...since KotOR is a Bioware license (Most likely wrong with this info) couldn't that developer lend a bit of a hand to Obsidian if LA tried their.....tactics....again? And from LA's standpoint, Obsidian managed to create a pretty damned good title running on a ridiculous time limit and limited funds, using an older engine to boot. They brought in a fairly large sum of money. To me, this would seem like a good reason for LA to want to sign them on again......and hopefully, allow them more breathing room. A far-fetched and stupid proposition, I'm sure, but hell, it'd be nice.

but then we can only begin to imagine the kind of push/pull politics between Obsidian and LA....by having a D20-based engine and plan set to go, that kind of ups the ante a little for LA because LA knows they could always do something else as they said they would...it forces LA to "fish or cut bait" kind of thing. It'd be nice if a few Troika employees would just...I don't know, take some time out of their busy schedules, in the spirit of the season of course, to make a few amendments to their code...and distribute said modifications through some third party websites...
