    I liked KOTFE but I'm a Theron fangirl also the lastes FP *fans self* that romance scene was just too perfect for me. Whyyyy did you mention! There is a real danger now at derailing the thread (PS I did like KOTFE too to be fair, it felt like KOTOR3 if you discounted everything that happened before that) Not 100% certain but looks like there are. At least tiny bits here and there like ambient dialogue. Other companions def notice your relationship. I have to admit I like casually dropping into swtor now, but I don’t play it as a multiplayer game. I can’t abandon Theron in his hour of need lol.

    There’s definitely more than one scene... I’m fairly sure the game doesn’t accomodate polyamory though, which surprises me since it’s accepted at least between elves and humans. It seems fairly in character for a couple of the companions too. No idea what dialogue occurs when you have two on the go at the same time though. If anyone has tried this let us know??

    Pretty sure none of the romances are long-lasting. I'd expect Aloth to stick with the PC actually. But only him. Mmmm, and Edér... in that creepy “I don’t like you that way, but I’m by your side forever and ever, and I’m going to make sure no one ever hurts you, but I’m not into any race/gender/defining feature that you may be... but you’ll never be alone again...” kinda way!!

    I’ve gone with the “wait till it’s fixed” idea too. On the upside, I can finish my POE1 play through... but I would have preferred the QA to have been adequately performed on 2 so I didn’t have to wait...

    Sure, and inasmuch as it is just bugs and it gets fixed, it's no longer an issue. I'm more responding to the argument that "people in Eora just don't care about race/gender/physical appearance/morals/etc in their partners" which we know isn't true. Ah yeah. I don't think s/s relationships in particular seem to be an issue. Inter-species seems to be more of an issue if anything. And since some of them are sterile it's hard to tell if they're common because there's not a bunch of halflings running around I think, sociologically speaking, there’s potentially an attitude shift towards interracial (inter species?) relationships starting to occur due to the hollowborn issue too. If healthy children are becoming scarce, adults are killing each other off in war and animancy craziness, and some races are potentially being affected more by the hollowborn issue than others, then population decline will trigger the adoption of taboos that weren’t previously a social issue. And like you said, we can’t know for sure because of inter species sterility.

    Yeah I have to admit my heart sank when I heard there were dlcs planned. It stopped me from doing a large cost backing of the game. I get that the dlc isn’t technically part of the game... but if that’s the case then we only have the first game to go on as an example, and that dlc WAS clearly intended to be played mid game. It was not an expansion. It’s really frustrated me that I had to either deal with buggy level adjustments rather than having it either completely built into a level appropriate section of the quest chain, or made into a legitimate expansion in one large chunk as a post game story. After a decade of bioware shenanigans, I’m simply out of patience for nickel and diming with incremental half made dlc. I’d rather buy a fully completed game and then a fully fleshed out and complete post game expansion pack. Sick to death of being charged premium prices for unfinished and unbetaed products. I’m very dissalusioned with the unfinished buggy nature of Deadfire so far. Hoped for better...

    In college a quarter of my class were openly and legitimately LGBT. And I was studying Psychology, not queer studies or something. And as us gays all know, there are also TONS of bi or curious people on the down low. Tons. Y’all really have no idea.For me the issue is less having everybody be bisexual, but more because of the mutability of the PC, this ends up making everybody pansexual in reality. Whatever the actual stats are on the number of LGBT people around, the percentage of people who would go for literally *anybody* regardless of their race, appearance, temperament, morals, & personality is exceedingly low to nonexistent.It would be better if they were all bisexual but still said "no" under certain conditions.Or... the in game society, since it’s clearly not earth, simply doesn’t have the cultural hang ups about gender, sex and sexuality that we have? It’s not outside the realms of possibility (in fact it’s very likely) that a planet that was never exposed to biases like these simply didn’t develop any cultural taboos around them, and therefore has a much higher percentage of the population that sees potential partners for their emotional/labido/intellectual compatibility rather than the shape of their “bits”? TLDR: perhaps they just don’t have centuries of stigma and bias making them reject potential partners on their planet. Edit: Edér seems to be the exception here though, apparently he only like female screamers?!

    I don't mind sappy love stories when they fit the characters, but turning Bishop from Chaotic evil **** to a doormat wasn't the best of choices. You may be right about the gods. I didn't mind it as much as was surprised by all the attention, especially since the gods didn't meddle much in the first game. But I guess since our Watcher opened that can of worms he/she now has to live with the consequences. Its like a personal god retinue around them in addition to all those spirits. I would definitely spend much more than I would dare to admit on this :D As would I... as long as the added romances didn’t go down like Vega from ME... seriously, what’s with devs thinking that kinda thing is in any way appealing?! *shudder*

    Well, this is sort of revolting, but not for the reasons you stated. By "Aloth is rather unenthused about this and talks to you about it" I can only surmise that he is an unwilling participant in this little threesome, which is obviously not okay. Exactly! I’m not at all concerned/squicked by the cross gender implications... I’m REALLY squicked by both Edér and Iselmyr being quite happy to contemplate what essentially amounts to raping Iselmyrs “meat suit”. I’m kinda grossed out with both characters now, and feel even more inclined to encourage Aloth to take the ‘suppress’ path next time.

    And yet, in regards to romance, every other character doesn't seem to give a rat's ass about the player's gender, race, past history, and so forth, but suddenly when it comes to Eder then it's "Oh but he can't feel that way due to something totally irrelevant". To me it just seems like they didn't want to give in to the fans even when what they were going to "give in to" made complete sense and fit in perfectly. Particularly when all through the first game he was consistently the one who picked the Watcher up when they fell, woke them from bad dreams, and (along with Aloth) shows the growing emotional attachment over time. I understand that sometimes people may “just not be that into someone” tm... but he REALLY doesn’t act like a bro who has nothing but platonic possibilities towards the Watcher. Pallegina? Definitely. Most of the other companions in fact. But Edér and Aloth certainly show an emotional attachment that *could* be construed as ‘pre-romantic’ feelings.

    Australia actually, but I work weird hours! I'm definitely not an expert on any of the languages of the area, but Tikawara has a flavor that is really reminiscent of some of the Maori place names I've heard mentioned. I'm not sure if the names in the game mean anything in the real world, but they have managed to capture the "feel" of the languages well enough that I feel a little nostalgic for some late night drunken conversations with some NZ uni friends I used to hang out with

    mm, I've been checking twitter, insta, FB, twitch and youtube... for obsidian, Versus Evil, and the random people who those accounts retweet... If my boss has a hidden camera anywhere in my room I"m in a lot of trouble lol. Nothing coming up but what's mentioned here. I see it all about 4 hours after America, so I'm kind of just doing QC, but I figure it's better to recheck then miss one lol

    The commands for the pets are just console commands, not cheat codes. They don't kill the achievement system.

    Haha! I've found the same thing! I live in Australia, so the time zones are off... I keep scouring the images, twitch vids and socials, but every time I find something it's already been reported a couple hours earlier when I was either asleep or at work! At least I know I'm on the right track with the places I"m looking, and I'll just consider myself part of the "just double checking" brigade

    Same! I went back through everything I could find on Twitter, FB, their website, steam, and the affiliate websites... if we missed something it’s either hidden REALLY well... it so bloody obvious we’ve all overlooked it!
