  1. Nah, as Karkarov said, it's really just the embargo. As far as I know, review copies have already been out for at least 1 1/2 weeks.
  2. I was pretty much set on going Holy Slayer for my first playthrough but damn, you guys are making me reconsider lol. Sounds interesting but I do wonder about the tradeoff - losing out on Soul Annihilation seems like a big deal, on top of dealing less damage with Soul Whip when not ascended, which means your FoD will deal less damage as well. SB just seems like the strongest choice for melee Ciphers, even more so for Inquisitors. And I would agree that Intellect is the one attribute you can definitely dump a bit if you're going Soul Blade considering you will mostly be focussing on Shred abilities; it does seem more important for Ascendant and especially Beguiler though.
  3. Are you the boy who cried "WOLF!"? Jeez. I really think you should take another look at Witch - much more fun & varied than Psyblade, imo.
  4. Very outdated GPU but the 6700 series should definitely be capable of running the game somewhat ok. Pretty hard to tell if you can run the game on medium, old GPUs can work iffy in modern games and yours has 1GB Vram at most, so you might have to go lower than medium.
  5. Not patriotism: they serve a family not a nation (the nation the family ruled doesn't exist anymore). Exactly. Apart from that I just really love the snarky, hot-blooded former Kingsguard~ish vibe.
  6. Wood Elf Holy Slayer (Assassin/Darcozzi) dualwielding Sabres. I am well aware that the Paladin subclass, weapon choice as well as the race are suboptimal but a full-party PotD run doesn't really need all that much minmaxing anyway; and you simply cannot beat the overall theme of the Darcozzi Paladini *g*
  7. Eh, you'll probably even get away with high settings if you're fine with 30FPS, save for a few intensive battle situations (with a lot of spells going off at the same time) and the like.
  8. Could be a problem if you're gaming @1080p. 720/900p should work if you lower settings accordingly.
  9. So not sugar coating your... "surprise" equals making schoolyard comments, cute. And your last comment only suggests that you have absolutely no insight into macOS porting or Mac gaming as a whole for that matter. You can't simply 1:1 compare Windows system requirements - as I already mentioned, there's a reason why the vast, vast majority don't even bother with Mac ports because they're not worth the effort and probably never will be because Apple couldn't care less about gaming. So yeah, I stick by what I originally said: Kudos to Obsidian that they even bothered with the port/s and I absolutely wouldn't expect any macOS optimization going forward.
  10. Which CPU and how much RAM do you have? i5-600U @ 2.30GHz 2.40GHz;12G RAM I'm guessing you mean 6200u or 6300u? In which case you should probably be able to get stable FPS on Medium. Do you have D: OS2? If you can run that game, like at all, you're good to go for Deadfire lol.
  11. Yeah. I'm starting to realise my mistake. :D You could have responded with a "Pssh, I can download those games in like 5 minutes if I feel like it " comeback. *g*
  12. Because other people don't tend to enforce misplaced complaining? Porting games to OS X isn't exactly easy and more importantly it's not even worth it financially - which is why so few games get a port in the first place. So yes, one should absolutely be grateful that a relatively small team like Obsidian is doing this.
  13. The 770 is more powerful than the 960. I don't really know what you were expecting; you have a GPU that didn't even meet the recommended requirements of the first PoE and Deadfire doesn't just look slightly better, it's on a whole other level - especially the animations and particles. As for the Linux version: I'm 99.9% sure that they simply failed to copy the correct requirements since Steam shows the same requirements for Deadfire as it does for PoE1. So no, the game won't look any different. Or you could accept the fact that you're playing on a system that's still very much not optimized for gaming, lower the settings and be grateful that they decided to port it at all.
  14. How would you guys recommend building an Inquisitor? Pretty much set on Soulblade but which Paladin subclass works best? I'm still trying to think of an offensive build that makes good use of Darcozzi but I guess I'm better off sticking with Wayfarers or Goldpact if I want to avoid the Walkers.
  15. So, I don't wanna nag but I think I've been forgotten x) Any chance someone can still take a shot at this? Link of the original image.
  16. Seems like it should work fine, BW gives a minor damage buff and the sickened affliction. The Holy Slayer has copious amounts of damage when using FoD from stealth, enough so that you are still going to do enough damage to one shot many mobs even without optimizing for damage by going BW. For example, in Scott Lufkin's Slayer demonstration assainating the Skulking Terror did 261 damage, only 35 of that was corrode damage from the BW. 226 is still a boat load of damage. In return you would get a lot of extra survivability for your whole team if you go KW. Seems like a good trade-off to me. Yeah, I was leaning towards KW. Sucks when the Paladin Order you like/agree with the most has pretty bad bonuses for most builds x)
  17. All the critical role portraits will be available as free dlc on launch day, so you can use them for your PC or adventurers.
  18. So, have there been any last-minute changes regarding dispositions effecting your combat effectiveness in relation to your chosen Order or is it still the same / even more important than it was before? I really, really want to go for Streetfighter/Assassin & Bleak Walker but don't feel like having to act like an a**hat all game. In case nothing has changed, does the Holy Slayer work decently with KW or Darcozzi?
  19. Speak for yourself, my Watcher is far from boring But aside from that, how are they supposed to write a narrative that can be told without the pivotal character being present? I have most of my companion builds already planned, but still kinda on the fence about Xoti and Maia. Geomancer looks to be pretty fun but Maia just seems to be a way, way better Ranger. As for Xoti, as someone else already mentioned, I honestly doubt the multiclass is worth losing out on faster access to the high level priest spells - but I guess I'll just have to wait and see how that turns out. well a lot of rpg do that...where you play a defined character...the witcher for example...i dont see the issue You were asking to play the game without The Watcher, who despite being a self-created character, is the main character. The Witcher equivalent would be asking if you can play the game without Geralt, or in case of a more fitting example, to play Dragon Age: Inquisition without the Inquisitor.

  21. is that the original image or did you crop it already? The cropping is way off compared to the base game. Do you have it in a larger format? I did crop it already, yeah. And sure, here's the original image.
  22. Hey everyone, long time lurker who decided to finally make an account for totally selfish reasons *g* I've been playing around with gimp and the online editor Aramintai posted in the last thread, trying to do my own watercolor portraits, but I just can't get anywhere close to the level as some of you guys. So, I have two questions: 1. Are the images I'm using even suitable for this kind of stuff? My results were always either too light or blurry. 2. If they are suitable, would one of you be willing to spare the time to look into 'watercoloring' them? I understand that we're only 10 days from release but I thought I'd just try anyway. Either way, cheers!
