Sounds like the best thing to do. Man, when will Lucas Arts and Obsidian learn that this sort of thing is simply unacceptable. They need to do a product recall.

No game deserves a 100%. Every game has its weaknesses.

Designer Ramblings: Beyond Kotor 2
Judge Hades replied to Chris Avellone's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Then they should be using their own original rules system than try to use d20. If they can't adhere to the rules of an established system for whatever reason they simply SHOULD NOT USE IT AT ALL. Its not that hard to figure out. When I run my own campaigns I use whatever rules system fits the campaign best. A balance between the importance in story and the rules system used needs to be maintained for optimal enjoyment. My campaign story has went from GURPS, to Interlock, to FUZION and now d20 System. If the rules system that Obsidian is using to tell the story of KotOR or NWN, or whatever CRPG they do in the future does not fit the rules system then either scrap the story or scrap the rules system. KotOR1 is a rather unchallenging, predictable game though had it s good points, it had some major faults as well. These faults were because Bioware chose to change teh rules system to fit the story and not the story to the rules system. If the rules system was unfit to tell the story that they wanted, which was obvious, then they should have used an entirely new original rules system instead of a bastardization of d20. Also I have no problems with a level 5 or 6 character after 40 hours of gameplay. Its how it should be done in the first place. -
Neverwinter Nights 2 or Dragon Age?

Neverwinter Nights 2 or Dragon Age?

Bioware knows how to create game engines and gives good technical support for their games but their stories of late have been rather lackluster. Obsidian, so far, has released a buggy console game. Lets wait and see. -
KOTOR 2 is IGN RPG GOY

I call them as I see them, plain and simple. -
Do you mind if the devs had more time?
Judge Hades replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
If I was on that end I would ask Lucas Arts how many of those 10 companies have the backing and full support of Bioware, the ones who developed the first game. -

We are talking about a console. Console games should have zero bugs in them. There is no excuse for it. -
Designer Ramblings: Beyond Kotor 2

Yes I am in the minority. I want a well written high quality CRPG that is challenging, that has an engaging story, and adheres to a balanced rules system. Yes, I am in the minority for wanting a freaking quality game. You might want crap, but I do not. -

Obsidian is equally to blame as Lucas Arts. -

Good for you, but there are some of us who do care about the rules system. I don't care if they use the rules system or make up their own, but if they are going to use it they need to adhere to it. -

Well, I care dammit. What the hell happen to good gaming integrity? -

I rather be a realist than an optimist. -

And you believe everything you read on the Internet. Sorry, I want tangible proof. I want to see actual downlaodable Patches. I want to see actual fixed X-Box discs shipped to those who bought the game (something Origin did with Ultima 9 way back when). I want proof. Just because a random person, regardless if they are affiliated with the company or not, makes a post in a forum does not make it true. -

I am wondering if all the bad word of mouth crap about the X-Box version will harm the sales of the PC version. Hmmm... Well, I know I am not going to buy it unless I see tangible proof that KotOR 2 is getting proper tech support by Obsidian and Lucasarts. -
How many devs still working on the pc version?
Judge Hades replied to Demigod's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Excellent.. We see: there is still hope! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, but that doesn't help the poor schmucks who got taken on the X-Box version. -
A Plea to Lucasarts/Obsidian
Judge Hades replied to Barachiel's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I am not going to buy a game and hope that it is supported. I learned that lesson with ToEE. I am not going to buy KotOR 2 or any freaking game from anyone until I know for 100% certainty that the game is going to be supported. That means doing more than putting up a tech support forum, Obsidian. DO SOMETHING TO HELP PEOPLE WITH THEIR PROBLEMS. Until I see a level of support that makes me comfortable and secure in buying the computer I am not going to waste money. -
Sorry, I do not find it amusing at all. Fallout is a 3/4 top down CRPG that is turn base which uses the SPECIAL rules system. Anything less would be just that.

If this game is supposed to have a sequel its rather stupid to have your character end it with a level higher than 20th. Doesn't leave much room for further advancement. Same goes to your companions, unless KotOR3 will do another complete washing of characters but then there goes continuity. Very bad move in my opinion. -

Its pretty darn sad that a buggy piece such as KotOR 2 can get game of the year. Personally I think game of the year awards should go to working games. -
It will be Morrowind with guns. Large boring world, first person view, and no real plot to speak of.

Will Obsidian provide new discs?
Judge Hades replied to mrtauntaun's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Man, don't people actually read around here? Its been mentioned many times that TSL is not be X-Box Live supported. -
Um... No he won't. Gareth, Visceris (aka Vis) is an old nick I had.
