Now the initial shock is over here is my advice and remember, I have over 20 years of DMing experience. As a DM this is what I do with difficult players: drop an elephant on him metaphorically speaking. He wants to play an abomination, an aberration, so let him. Just create a nice 10th to 15th level Paladin/Cleric, and his party who have heard of this evil incarnate creature and let them rip the character apart. These guys are not concerned with the lower level party members because they are not the abomination, not the evil that must be destroyed. Also keep in mind that the mind flayer has to eat a sentient mind at least once per day or it will lose strength and starve. All the more reason for the paladin and his posse to kill the abomination. As for the other party members take note of their backgrounds and alignments. Why would a NG celestrial be even around such a creature. The moment his true nature is revealed the celestrial would either kill him (try to at least) or have nothing to do with him. Penalize for bad role playing. So, let the guy play his abomination. Grin happily. Then kill the bugger within the first hour of the campaign, legitimately. My fastest kill is 47 minutes and you would be surprised how a player will step in line and make a character less outlandish when he or she knows that there are consequences involved. Drop the elephant. EDIT: Almost forgot about the Githyanki an the Githzerai. These guys love to kill illithids and being such abomination of incredible power they would send their top hunters, the ones with the silver vorpal swords that can kill with a single it or choasmatter magics to blast the bugger with. :D

Think of the experience!!!!

Yep, SP is right. Hard drives back then were much much larger. Sure we just now are getting 3.5 inch 500 gig harddrives, but hard drives were indeed larger than 3.5 beleive it or not.

Hmmm... Soccer moms...

*Urk* How the hell can someone justify a half dragon mind flayer to even exist. They are anthropomorphic asexual amphibians. Meaning adult mind flayers are basically both sexes and create clutch of tadpoles when they reproduce. Mind Flayers have no way for a dragon, polymorphed or not, to have sex with. Also there are only a very few races that are even compatible with ceremorphosis. Humans and elves are the only races that make good stock for the process of the tadpole illithid to be inserted. Gnomes have been tried but they create only mutant progeny. For all other races the ceremorphosis doesn't take hold and kills the host and tadpole. Physiologically speaking there is no possible way for a half dragon mind flayer. I know you are a bunch of teenies but lets use some common sense here. Besided that would be a +12 ECL. That means, with class level that bugger would be the equivelent power of a 13th level character.

Things that went wrong with this game
Judge Hades replied to ShadowCaster's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The only two things I disliked about KotOR 2 was the ending and G0 T0. -
Oh, come on now. It was beginning to be rather humourous.

So you have a "PST is the best" button on your browser now?
-
You know, Jack Thompson inspired parent groups going on a rampage.

And that is why you are ignorant. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Afraid not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Afraid so.

Batman.

If we flame the Scandinavian lands won't the ice cap melt?

Well, Billy Boy is thinking 10 years down the line. Maybe that time we all will have Ipods cybernetically grafted to our craniums.
-
Have you ever showed someone the "Any" key? Was it the off switch? Did you just cause someone to lose 10 hours of unsaved work?
-
Well, you can get a 80 gig hard drive under $50 now.

Think of it as game rentals. Lets say you have the PS4 and wanted to play Final Fantasy 7 PS1 game for some odd reason. You can go to the online site and for $2 USD or 10 yen (or whatever) you could rent the game for one week. After one weeks time you can either rent it again or move on to someting else.

Hmmm... Nerdy coke bottle glasses... *drools* I too wish to see the NWN 2 forums back at Obsidian. I want to discuss an Obsidian game at the Obsidian forums. I shouldn't have to go to another lame game company's forums to discuss an Obsidian game. Using they logic they gave us they should have placed the KotOR 2 forums at Bioware but they didn't. Bioware forums are there to disucss Bioware games. Obsidian forums are here to discuss Obsidian games. NWN 2 is an Obsidian game therefore it should be here.

Well, aren't already at the mercy at what they want to release anyway? Like I said I see where Billy is coming from and there are companies like Valve and Bioware testing the waters on this but I don't see it coming full bloom til the next set of consoles.

I blame your mom too.

Well, think about how big Hasbro is and compare the sales of DnD to the sales of its other products. In comparison DnD is pretty darn low on the totem pole.

Thing is games that are 10 gigs or larger will have no real substance to them. Majority of that space will be used in useless FMV sequences. I want to play my game not watch a movie when I pick up a controller. Right now I am pretty satisfied with the graphical quality found in the KotOR or JE games. I don't have a real need for games to have better than that. If they can put in 30 gigs would of actual gameplay and substantial interactive story telling then it would be worth it, but if it is just going to be wasted on FMV then I rather not bother.

What they are doing is consolidating all of TSR's old material, franchises, Intellectual Property, licenses, as well as all the new material that belongs to them since the d20 System was released in order to sale it off. Hasbro no longer wants to deal with the PnP side of d20 for it isn't profitable enough for them. At least that was the last rumor I heard on the subject. Hasbro wanted to push the 4e to boost sales but WotC told them that it would be stupid because a 4e is really unnecessary and would sell like crap. So they want to ditch it instead, White Wolf would probably be the most likely buyer but there are a lot of companies that would like the chance to own Dungeons and Dragons.

Five reasons why Jack Thompson is right...

A very good link.
