Where are you seeing a redhead? -

is that the original image or did you crop it already? The cropping is way off compared to the base game. Do you have it in a larger format? -

Not sure who posted this but this is my attempt of creating a background for it and making a watercolor version. Unfortunately, I do not have the beta so it is hard for me to gauge how it will look in the actual game. -

Thanks! No, I am good but I was wondering why you would even make a compilation like that when you can just have the individual files without the need of assembling or cropping. It does not make any sense to me at all. But you do you! Speaking of portraits: do you guys think that the first two portraits revealed here are of Ashley and Matthew: http://versusevil.com/games/pillars-of-eternity-ii-deadfire_c-r/ ? -

Why post them in this format though? I would have to cut them out individually if I wanted to use them. -

I don't edit very often, so here's an attempt at just the portrait. Did you use a specific brush for that or maybe copy the background from another image? -

It does not really matter that much since we'd need to work on it in a different file format with GIMP or Photoshop anyway. The game only supports png so you might as well post it in png if you can. Already working on that! -

Looks great! Portraits usually have a neutral background though. Might clash a bit with the rest of the art -

https://imgur.com/a/yR7M0i7 Remade the watercolor version. Still debating how much I want to crop the two 76x96 images (hence the discrepancy). A closer crop seems to be more in line with PoE I graphics with a lot of hair or horns. -

So those portraits are ones that we as players can choose for our own character? Would you mind critiquing the watercolor portrait that I posted on page 5, please? I am not sure I got the style right. If there is still too much detail in it, for example. Would be great. Thanks! -

Did one of the godlike portraits somebody posted on here. Adjusted the crop though. There may still be too much detail. What do you guys think? Not sure why I cannot upload them here. Tried png and then jpg but it told me that I could not upload this file type. I might be too fresh a member. https://imgur.com/a/yR7M0i7 -

Yeah, same here. The elves have actually a different skull model in the games. Elongated. Back on topic: Here's hoping PoE III will have partially generated portraits. Very often you just wish the hair was a different color or longer. Maybe even templates for hair, ears and nose etc. At that point you might as well make it completely CG though. Unique art is nice but portraits seem to be so disconnected from the rest of the world at times. I am sure people will disagree with me though -
I completely agree. Give me one or the other but not both. When I am presented with both audio and text I automatically focus on the text and get annoyed that I am ahead of the voiced dialogue. Which is why I also turn off subtitles in games. It is more difficult in PoE though since we still have this text-based dialogue system. How do you present that visually?

I prefer the modern consistency and alien physiognomy though. Older art often looks very much like edited photographs with elf ears slapped on. I suspect this was often the case since the industry was not as big back then and digital art not as sophisticated. -

Looks like Titus Pullo from Rome. I noticed that you include 4 different files in your conversions. Is that something needed for PoE II? Are 4 different images used in-game and are these the resolutions that it uses? Has this been confirmed?
