Because of the gameplay you are planning, Quaterstaff with proficiency (+20 deflections vs melee, +50% recovery time with quaterstaff) can be a good option too. Also, with a druid in the party, the Lance of the Midwood Stag can grant +3 generic PL, for FF ability. But in this case, the curse duration grow also with PL (like prestige, nature godlike, and other generic PL) so that require an adustement for your resolve in function. The best optimisation should be to have a set like these one when you attack (with the IA) with FF ability, and change the set for WoW with more offensive weapon(s). Hylea's Talon doesn't work with vanilla version of FF ability. Swift Flurry / Hbd also require a melee weapon crit.

Other thing you can see on the screenshot I forgot to mention : there are 2* Frightened and 2* Immobilized afflictions : Secret Horrors (active) and Echoing Horror (passive) seems to stack, as like Mental Binding (active) and High Tide (weapon). That mean 2* -10 defenses (-5 for deflection) to correspondant stats. After all, that work in a same way with Inspirations's stacking rules. @theleeI think that can be interesting to know!

Yes, this build doesnt require any babysitting priest to be efficient, and the max focus while ascended is 285, in other side it is 260 for Beguiler and less for Soul Blade. I didnt try but that is a good idea! Every things that boost the AoE size is good for the build, but every items you mention are already used in my party (4/5 are casters) ; it is better with these items that is true. I weared the Gipon Prudensco because of the 20%recovery malus, reflex and deflection bonus and the disengement immunity, to avoid any confrontation at melee range, but Aloth's armor is the more optimised clothe to AoE focused caster like this one.

Absolutely, but enfeebled suffer from this duration since you need to wait this end to reapply it (and do a new +50% debuff). the +20% from Dispersed Suffering is instant. that is true for Time Parasite, other draining buffs are applied only on first enemy (if you try to cast Borrowed Instinct on another enemy when the buff is not over, only the enemy have the debuff but you dont get a second buff.)

This is a build around the interaction between Shared Nighmare, Time parasite, Current's Rush (high tide) and Frostfall (Dispersed Suffering and Shattering Head). Against groups of enemies, this character can clean the map, leaving survivors like the shadow of themself. Classe : Ascendant (higher max focus) Race : Elve Stats : Might : average Con : low Dex : average Per : high Int : high Res : low Principales passives and abilities : Borrowed Instinct (+20acc (and def) to scoring crits) Time Parasite ( to speedly try to crit) Shared Nighmare (Biggest AoE to spells and High Tide and Shattering Head and Dispersed Suffering) Greater Focus (to enhance the Nighmare AoE) Hammering Thoughts (damages are dealed by weapon) Two Weapon Style (to reduce the recovery for Current's Rush) Lingering echoes and usual CC spells Equipement : Thaos' Headdress (Heaven's Cacophony is great too) (+1 int +5acc vs flanked, or +2int and avenging storm for High Tide, Dispersed Suffering and Shattered Head) Mirrorback (safer at distance) Charm of Bones (+2int, very resistant minions) Gloves of the Dungeon Warden (the build is around crit) Ring of the Marksman (ranged) and Ring of Overseeing (AoE) Later, the Whispers from the Depths Boots of the Stone (later, the Vithrack Silk Slippers can greatly make the difference for survivor enemies) Girdle of Mortal Protection (good and cheap) Gipon Prudensco (free move, buff to reflex and deflection) Current's Rush (Main Hand) with upgrades and legendary, better with Mythic Frostfall (offhand) with Dispersed Suffering and Shattering Head In combat, the principe is to casting Borrowed Instinct and other CC spells on the most resistant enemy ; during this time, attacking at ranged distance (so only with Current's Rush) other enemies to trigger the Ascension in the first time, and High Tide with relative AoE. High tide can proc itself High Tide on crit, and when do a kill, proc Dispersed Suffering that can proc on crit Shattering Head, that can also proc Dispersed Suffering on kill. Because of the high AoE size (Shared Nighmare, int and ring) the 4 or 5m radius of these abilities are really big and concern a lot of enemies. This is because Dispersed Suffering proc on any weapon kill, and Shattering Head on Frostfall crit (Dispersed Suffering is a Frostfall attack). Each kill mean +20% hostile effects duration (Dispersed Suffering), and an unique first crit can do many kill with this setup. If staying enemies are under the effect of Borrowed Instinct or Time Parasite, their durations can "explode" and by the way make growing the correspondant beneficail effect on the cipher. The Vithrack Silk Slippers, when reapplying a CC spell on enemies, do an adjustement of the duration of the affliction, but in reality when dispersed suffering proc nearby, the 20% is applied to the total duration (not current duration) so not only the duration of the spell itself but the totality of the casted spell (It is hard to be evident in english). To illustrate this point, I made a screenshot at the tavern I try the build : I cast only one time Secret Horror and Mental Binding before High Tide proc. As you can see, there is many proc in the combat log, and the blood on the floor show the after-high-tide effect. Of course, there is many way to exploit Dispersed Suffering (Berserker on skellies with Grave Calling in main hand, Ranger with mortar or the Weyc's Wand in main hand, etc) but SC Cipher seem to me the most suitable classe to make a Current's Rush/Frostfall build, combining high speed, high accuracy, high AoE size for the high tide effect.

When my monk-test n°873 was trying to do some try, the combat log mention a fire lash with the damages from Kitchen Stove (Turning Wheel). Kitchen Stove was equipped in main hand, with Frostfall in offhand. The test was about ranged monk, with a melee weapon to benefice from the two handed style recovery bonus for the ranged one. I already know for Swift Flurry that proc a ranged attack in this configuration when attacking in melee, but that appears that also work with other melee "passives" like Heartbeat Drumming (maybe Swift Flurry) and Turning Wheel when attacking with the ranged weapon. If somebody can confirm that work also for him (then it is not a bug for me), pearhaps the configuration could open the melee door for ranged weapons with a lot of other things.

Resistances from race and passives or equipment doesnt stack (there is no level of resistance), but the chants that provide a resistance to an affliction downgrade to 1 level the current afflictions (and protect like a regular resistance the time the chant is active). The effect (the chant) doesnt stack with itself, so the same chant is going to refresh the older timer on characters, but the same chant when the previous is over will downgrade again the current afflictions. This is especially efficient with the Troubadour modal that stop the linger of phrase.

For some reasons I cant play to the game before the next weekend, but I got an idea few minutes ago about SC fighter thing and I need your help to try the interraction : Keeper of the Flame's AoE burn damages concern everyone into the 5m radius, the damages are not pure damage but status effect that cause some damages VS reflex ; can you try if the attack can crit? Otherwise the interraction will require the Confusion inspiration, with Grave Calling (vs skellies), Eager Blade ((vs near death) or maybe Wahai Pogara. Toughened Fury provide a chance to gain Discipline when critically hit, the idea was to reduce Reflex to cause the Keeper of the Flame's AoE to crit the fighter himself (clear Out and upgrade enhance the chance) to constantly gain discipline. Tactician already have access to Brilliant, but also to Confused, to turn the AoE from the weapons I mention before to self-crit. Disciplined Strike and low relative defense (Chillfog is vs Fortitude, Bounding Strikes from Eager Blade is certainely vs Reflex, Wahai Pogara, if that can self-hit the wearer, is vs Deflection) for the self-crit chance and Unbending to the health (vs damages but maybe not status effect that deal damages) should turn the SC fighter in Monk-like abilities user, maybe. AoE from Mortars or The Weyc's Wand can give better results, but also under confused condition. These test concern solo SC Fighter, to aim some independance ; some AoE pulsing spells from the party can do the periodic crits and without damaging the Fighter in some case but with Kepper of the Flame, if the AoE can crit, every fighter could transform Discipline in Wounds.

That depend to how you orient your build : if you plan to do a crowd-control/dps (in this order), then a FF subclass should be really great. The thing to know about Enfeebled is the effect cant stack (when it is applied, the duration of the affliction is refreshed) but when the enfeebled effect is over, reapplying it give another +50% duration for current effects but for their total duration since they began. So, a good way to paralyse or stun an enemy for a long time is to, in first, Forbidden first him, in second, at the end of the FF effect, CC spell, in third, when the FF effect is over, re-FF, etc. In the case when the duration to the debuff effect to prolong is inferior to FF effect, reapplying the CC spell will refresh the duration too, but with some FF effects on this last, the debuff can get a really high duration, so that give you the time to kill him or other freely. Helwalker might bonus give also a bonus to health received, since that come from your monk. Chanter have some chants that give health, and some weapons return health (Aldris Blade of Captain Crow by exemple) and some items too. But without healthy stuff, as Chanter, you can stop enemies before the drame. It is a DPS/crowd control build (in this order). Troubadour is nice since the phrase duration can be reduced, actually is really nice with energized inspiration that the chanter can have. That mean, by 3s, an general interrupt when the chant crit around you. Also, chant loose their persistence, so damaging shield or affliction downgrade chants car be reapplyed by 3s, and skeleton from Many lives chant spawn every 3s too. Bellower, in DPS purpose, is a good option(also in debuffing way, but the AoE of chants is really short around you) : low PL invocations like Her revenge or others gain a potential great boost and, with a priest in the party, the PL bonus can be prolonged for some time, that can be useful to recast low PL invocation with a huge boost to reduce quickly the number of enemies by exemple. This is only from my game experience, probably you will see some relevant points others than mines, so the better thing is to test some combinaisons in a tavern with an old save when you hesitate strongly imo

Yes, and I dont know how and why, but my game is enduring a full-bug period, and when I made the test for the topic, the stride status effect (with a duration) from Pull of Eora cause the enemies a stunning-like effect with the erratic position. Slicken cause that too yesterday, but not today, the game seem regular. So I'm going to clean the topic, sorry it's my bad

Only differents approach, not better I think. Monk-Skald is great combinaison, particularely with the weapons Boeroer spoke, because the 2 classes are really complementary. The crit chance (2 with Sun and Moon) can, on succes, land a serie of another crit (swift flurry, heartbeat drumming) than can provide a phrase (or maybe it is only on first crit, from the auto-hit, because swift flurry proc is considered like an ability hit). However, the int bonus from the monk profit to chants and spells, ect. I like Forbidden First- Bellower as frontliner personaly. But a rogue have many tools that can make a Trickster-Skald a better approach for you.

Spark the Souls of the Righteous is not only brilliant with the Least Unstable Coil or Effort+Avenging Storm for the Priest himself, this spell can generate an untouchable point of damaging pulsation. The effect (extendable because beneficial) continue to pulse even when the beneficial target (party or the priest) is isolated with Withdraw or Temporal Cocoon. Invisible, untargetable, damage dealer. With Beetle Shell, the allie is unvulnerable during the effect until the shell break, and he stay able to receive friendly effect ; the Spark the Souls of the Righteous effect also work well, like riposte effect etc. We cant target every summon with the spell, barbaric totems sadly cant be targeted by the spell (but by Withdraw).

Minoletta's spells work very well with combusting wounds, the number of missile are scaling pretty well with PL. Beam spells (Ninagauth's Bitter Mooring and Ray of Fire for wizard) are great too, they damage anyone in the path each 1s, with 1 wounds by damaging hit roll. Wall are fine too it's right. A cipher-wizard can be really efficient damage dealer with this spell by the way. There are some others good combo with Combusting wounds with the other party members, like AoE attack with AoE weapon / multiple projectiles weapon / AoE effect from the weapon. For exemple, Clear Out (fighter) with Keeper of the Flame (burn damages AoE) can give +5 or even more wounds . This spell can really profite too to a SC Priest, I like when there are some enemies close to some of my chars under the effect of Spark the Souls of the Righteous. With combusting wounds on top, it is "passively" crazy.
