  1. Trails in the Sky I'm rather enjoying it, thought I've only just gotten past the Prologue and into Chapter 1. And a bit of Star Wars Battlefront. They finally fix Lando tomorrow!
  2. The reinforcement system they have is pretty weak. They announce it the round before they appear and it's just one squad. Unless you're busy fighting someone else you can wipe them out with overwatch. I liked it, don't get me wrong. But I liked it just because it was an opportunity to pull off great ambushes. It just wasn't a threat.
  3. I don't consider frustration to be interesting. And that's what the timer generated in me. I can see some draw if having your guys get grabbed, their movement debuffed, and the path to the exit burning down was something that just happened in a blue moon (on normal) causing you to lose a bunch. That's exciting. But if it's liable to happen every 2-3 missions, it's just obnoxious. And that was before the boss monsters from the DLC started to appear. They were showing up every other mission or more. If I hadn't already disabled timers by that time, I would have stopped playing the game entirely. Having to always make bad decisions isn't fun.
  4. How long is it? The next JRPG I'm planning to play is Trails in the Sky, but if it's short I'll make time for it.
  5. Play Master of the Wind, if you haven't already. I have no idea what that is. Edit: This? http://solestgames.com/game/master-of-the-wind/
  6. Decided to finally get around to Charles Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden, Chapter 1 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa. And it's terrible. It's not even a funny joke unless you think taking basketball way too seriously is hilarious. Not really feeling like playing anything else. But I typed up some handwritten parts of that RPG Maker project I'll never finish. I also tried out that Project Diva game that launched free on PS4, just to see how much of a weaboo I am deep down inside. Turns out I'm terrible at rhythm games and lost about 2 minutes in. I kind of knew that already. So that's enough of that.
  7. That's the same disable timer mod I used. Sorry to hear that. The first one was better anyway.
  8. What disable timer mod did you use? The one I used worked perfectly.
  9. And Final Fantasy VI is complete. A more fulfilling title than XV was, for sure. The villain's development in the second half feels similarly lackluster, but it has a greater focus on the party's stories at that point so they make up for it.
  10. So I decided to go onto Kefka's tower. Why would you make me use 12 characters for this? I've barely touched over half these guys. Died to ninjas pretty badly. I've also played Analogue: A Hate Story and Hate Plus. I thoroughly enjoyed them, but I don't think they'd be anyone else around here's cup of tea. They're probably the most waifu game I've ever seen.
  11. Final Fantasy VI Don't know if I want to grind some stuff (unlikely), do some side dungeons (maybe), or hunt down abilities for characters (also maybe). Or just hit the final dungeon and call it.
  12. Did you get to kill any ladies? Oh absolutely. Complete ladykiller, I slayed them all. And was absolutely not stood up at all by anyone at any point.
  13. So I did a playthrough of Ladykiller in a Bind. It's really good and also not even a little family friendly. I had mixed feelings in the end, anger, sadness, happiness. Which I guess qualifies as a success on the game's part.
  14. I'm currently a bit into a fan edit of the Hobbit. And so far I've actually been enjoying it, something I felt would never happen with these films. To its great credit, I've only felt the cut merely twice so far. But in my mind I can think of 5 or 6 things that are missing. And the small jumps it suffers from are worth it.
  15. I find myself all the way in the World of Ruin now. Shadow's alive and so is Cid. I didn't even know the former was possible.
  16. It was nice in Wings of Liberty to see missions from the other side for Colonists/Protoss and Tosh/Nova. Anyway, I've been jumping around games a bit trying to find something to really excite me and grab my attention. I tried some Pathologic and it's not gripping me. But I'd like to keep coming back to it. Tried some Dropsy and the game is so weird it refuses to label its save/load stuff except in pictograms. So when I accidentally loaded instead of saving, I just wasn't compelled to hop right back on the horse. Installed The Evil Within with the intent to play that, but only ran it long enough to see that it does indeed run okay on my system. And then settled finally on Final Fantasy VI. It's about time I finished that game after however long it's been since I bought it back on the PSOne. I've bought so many JRPGs this past half year, I have to start making headway through them.
  17. Finished Legacy of the Void. Yeah, the epilogue was kind of crap. Heck, that final mission was double crap. Yeah, let's stick some targets on floating islands when I have the worst fliers in the game. That's a good one. Edit: Checked out Zombi for about an hour, I have it from PS+. So very dull.
  18. The tag system is a real mess.
  19. You know you have a serious game buying addiction when you're browsing Steam Horror games for something to buy and can find nothing. So you google up a best of Horror games list and find out you already own half the titles in the top 25 and have never played them.
  20. I did, in fact. Just met him yesterday, he seems delightful. That's probably just John de Lancie at this point, but we'll see where he goes.
  21. A few missions into Legacy of the Void now and it's reaffirmed my opinion that the Protoss are simultaneously the coolest race and also the dullest characters. You'd be hard pressed to write a less inspired lot, you really would. The only character drama in the whole thing so far is that one ancient preserver has a stick up her... whatever they have. I'm loving what they did with unit customization. Heart of the Swarms mutations taken further. Now neither my Zealots nor my Dark Templar ever stay dead.
  22. I enjoy a good groan.
  23. I think TrueNeutral said basically the same thing. I'm dying to play it now.
  24. Finished Heart of the Swarm. The campaign was good fun (Ha!), but the story wasn't anything special. Literally spending the entire campaign building up power so they can do one mission sequence in service of plot. That seems less than stellar. Should have just built up power while moving the plot forward. Time to search for Jim at this dominion base! While we're here, let's assimilate some of the native forms into the swarm! But no.
  25. And her mother is hospitalized today for a stroke. :/
