KoToR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
Darth Nuke replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
5 years... How about a few months? Waiting is a stupid move by the Sith if it's years. On a galactic scale entire fleets can be built in months. I doubt the Sith will wait for the Republic to have that chance. 2 or 3 months, maybe, any longer then it just makes the Sith look stupid when they have all the cards on their side. I believe the last Card the Sith will play is creating unrest in the Senate. Perhaps do something like in "Visions of the Future," where a single event almost had each member of the New Republic leaving. If that were to happen the Sith could take each system with no problem. That last card is probably been played during the events of both games, we just don't know about it. Thus tis why Coruscant is must. -

To those who like this idea of Revan and Bastila having a little brat..this is for you. In KOTOR 2 Kreia implies the True Sith are Ready for War, and that the Great War is coming. The true Sith have weakened everyone that could stand in their way. With all that bull out of the way.. what you people are saying is that a Enemy race that is Ready for War, will now wait until Revan and Bastila bang, and have a child that will be the main character in there game. Which also means this: True Sith lord takes his index fingure point's it to his own head and says, "I'm double stupid." The True Sith aren't going to wait for a child to be born. They are ready for War, and thus will attack before Revan and Bastila probably even see each other again. No the PC will indeed be of adult age probably and the game won't take that long after KOTOR 2. -

I think it's best to stay away from actual story ideas. Most of the time those who create the games will never use them anyhow. Other things like Planets and Engine ideas are acceptable I believe. Planets: Coruscant: Locations; The Senate, Jedi Temple, Senate District, Wastelands Mandalore: Capital City of Keldabe and outlying Jungle. Utopia:My first addition in a while for the planets. It's believed that this planet was one of the birth places of the Jedi Order. It seems like a good place as well. True Sith homeworld:(Unknown Region Planet) New Unknown Region Planet: Alderaan: Ziost: Party Members(Returning) Bastila, Jolee, Dustil, Mira, HK, T3, Possible New: A bothan Senator, Falleen, Ryn Returning Non-playable: Mandalore, Carth, Admiral Dodonna, Cassus Fett, Yuthura, Chieftain Zaalbar and Mission, New Races: Bothan, Ryn, Mandallian, Caamassi, Togorian, Falleen, Feeorin, Utopian, Massassi Be cool if the leader of the Exchange was Feeorin. If some of you are Familiar with the character of Nym, he's really a cool character. His race grows stronger as they get older, so I think it be cool if the leader is really strong. Other Stuff: Please fix the influence system so that it will allow for influence regardless of alignment. I'd actually like to see the stuff that I equip. Like if I have a Sith amulet on, I want to see it on the character. Better continuity -

Just to clarify: I personally don't care whether they use him or not in KOTOR III. I just think that the KOTOR Chronicles should give us some insight into where LA was thinking of going with this and the Chronicles do, in fact, leave it wide open. The fact is, the guy has already operated "outside of his time" so it would really not be asking alot to have him resurface. Think about it for a minute: video games reach casual SW fans and even non-SW fans. If you wanted to show these people what "the Sith" of antiquity looked like, this would be a perfect opportunity. I realize that the hard core fans might not like it but they know they've got them anyway. If we do see red-skinned Sith in K3, we will also see Naga Sadow...that is the only prediction I'm going to make about that. As far as his tomb goes, did we see his mummified body in that tomb? Anyway, even this could be worked around. The three Great Pyramids in Egypt did not house the great kings like Ramses....the larger, more ornate tombs were decoys to fool and trap grave robbers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The tomb, or Memorial(as Bioware called it), of Sadow doesn't have his body in it. He's still on Yavin. and the Chronicles are not a good source for accurate continuity. There are many mistakes in them. -

Is that your opinion or is that EU continuity? If it is continuity, then I ask for a citation. Which comic? What number? etc. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Continuity, TOTJ sourcebook. Freedon Nadd Fled from Sadow because he feared him. When he got more powerful he wnt back to Yavin and killed him for good. -

Naga Sadow is dead as Dirt. -
When was it constructed? The chronicles say Revan did, I though Kreia said it was older than that.
-
Actually yep, yep. The way I've seen things work. Movie out does book, book out does comic, comic out does game. proof of comic out doing game is in Tales 23 with the Valley of the Dark Lords. Though if a new source adds to continuity then everything is fine. For instance although the Valley of the Dark Lords in KOTOR is heavly modified so that it will now fit with the continuity Valley, the Dantooine Academy looks exactly like the game had it, in the comic. And since no source had the description of the Academy Vodo built in TOTJ, the KOTOR version wins, and thus becomes the continuity academy.
-
Only if the Basilisk in KOTOR 2 was a Basilisk War Droid. I need not start that discussion again, the old Molecrap will have it's return if Dark Horse has anything to say about it. They've already taken their Valley back.
-
Oh but I do. Just because I don't go around bragging about my so called "connections" or so called knowledge of everything that is Star Wars doesn't mean I don't know anything about what I'm talking about. If Continuity was good, then they wouldn't need to go back and FIX things. By definition, continuity means that one story flows to the next. If you are watching a movie, and then after the movie they get complaints that certain parts contradicted themselves, that would be bad, correct? But by your definition, all they'd have to do is re-release the movie after they make changes and everything would be "perfect". Sorry, that's not the case. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No continuity is perfect, however STar Wars continuity is damn good. Concidering the Star Wars Galaxies spans thousands of years, and with hardly any mess ups I say that's pretty good stuff. Almost everything in Star Wars fits now, better than it ever did.
-
Understatement of the Year so far. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For one you don't know **** about continuity anyway, so I don't even know why your even starting the subject with me. I see things fixed all the time. Star Wars continuity is very good in the department of making things fit. But lets get back to the subject at hand.
-
But aren't you the same person that wouldn't let the issue drop about the flying crab (ie. the Basilisk War Droid)? You refused to admit that the KOTOR version was "legitimately" continuity, yet now you are saying KOTOR is continuity. And, furthermore, you're the one that argues that continuity in Star Wars is fine and has no flaws. You certainly do change your mind depending on whether it suits your argument or not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've never changed by mind. KOTOR is continuity, however it does have it's share of continuity mistakes that will be fixed. Sooner or later the Basilisk will be fixed, or be concidered somethign else. For instance I was also a firm spokes person on the Valley of the Dark Lords screw up. In tales 23 that is fixed, like I always said it would. So KOTOR is continuity, the story is continuity, the people in it are continuity, everything about KOTOR series is continuity. Unless of course it's a continuity mistake, in that case the situation is looked at on a case by case basis and fixed. Just like the VOTDL was. EDIT: And continuity is doing well for the most part. Hardly any problems.
-
When was it confirmed that KOTOR is even part of official continuity? I'm pretty sure that they'll do whatever they feel fits best the story of KOTOR 3 in regards to the Mandalorians' role. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So cute. In Star Wars continuity unless it has a Infinities lable it is continuity. KOTOR has been confirmed as continuity by Leland Chee, and most of what's in KOTOR and KOTOR TIES into already established continuity. A recent KOTOR tales story even made KOTOR continuity when it told the story of the 3 Jedi who died during the great hunt. KOTOR will even join up with the rest of the continuity when it gets it's part in the NEW ESSENTIAL CHRONOLOGY. So KOTOR is continuity, and thus the Mandalorians are not allowed to die. Sorry, but this is how continuity works in Star Wars, and KOTOR is apart of that continuity.
-
No. Canderous rallies only some of the clans to his banner. The rest stay Mercenary until finally aligned by Jaster Mereel.
-
The Mandalorians will probably allie with the Republic, and help destroy the True Sith. They won't get whiped out, because it goes against continuity.

I agree that the Chronicles are for the purposes of the KOTOR games, not official continuity (although that is getting increasingly hard to define). But just as they introduced someone more awesome than Vader and Luke, they could bring back one of the ancient Sith guys too if they really wanted. Guess we will have to wait and see. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I want someone new, with a Black Lightsaber, or some kind of really bad ass Sith Sword. -

The chronicles are not a good source for correct continuity. Naga Sadow was finished off by Freedom Nadd. So he is dead for good. -

Highly doubt that. The True Sith are playing the same Game Palpatine played. Weaken the enemies then destroy them once and for all. The True swindled the Mandalorians into believing that a War with the Republic would be the great last battle. Thus the Mandalorians, the greatest army in the Galaxy, is weakened terribly, and are no large threat to the True Sith. Revan figures something out about these True Sith(probably of there own design), and turns to the Darkside and trys to conquer the Galaxy as to make it stronger. Unfortunatly it seems the Dark Side has grown very strong, Revans plan is ruined by Bastila and the Jeid party. Ruined even more when a mindless Revan gets Revenge and destroys everything that could have been a help in destroying the True Sith. Of course Revan didn't realize this at the time. Now comes the Exile. Who with Kreias influence ends up destroying the last of the Jedi and the last of the Revan/ Malak Sith. No not a Guerillia War, just a very smart game that was brilliantly planned out in order to weaken any enemy that could take on the True Sith. So therefore the Sith are Ready for War, and the Republic is not. At this point the Sith could attack and the Galaxy wouldn't be able to do a damn thing. I'm afraid that KOTOR 3 will be plenty epic in the war department, and not some 40 hour game in which you hunt down a group of True Sith. WOW, that would have been a great ending to this trilogy. I would also assume that while KOTOR and KOTOR 2 were going on the Sith also had dealings in trying to cause unrest in the Senate. -

Well I for one am a fan of the idea of having Revan or Exile return as the PC. Revan more since this seems to be all his story. It would be foolish for some young Jedi to come and claim Revans war, and win it without credit to the actual Hero of the series. Then again being the Exile is just as good, since he has control of the Hawk and the droids at least. But who you are doesn't really matter at this point. I feel the next game should really drive home the Galactic view of things. Thus having a game completely set in the unknown regions will not do. And a game about the search for Revan is stupid as hell, concidering this could be the last KOTOR game. Planets: Coruscant: Should be the best choice of planet for KOTOR 3. It houses the Senate and the Jedi Temple amoung other places of interest. Thus with the Senate you have your Galactic View. KOTOR 3 should be about a few months after 2. Kreia implied that the True Sith were ready for War, I doubt they are going to wait years to attack, especially when the Republic is in the worst of shapes. Mandalore: Another planet of Interstest would be Mandalore, the home planet of the Mandalorians. I think this is also a good opportunity to fix the Mandalore that HK faught deal. Perhaps Canderous has returned to Mandalore to find it in his control, and thus a civil war has broken out between the forces loyal to either Mandalore. Alderaan: A good choice of planet that has hardly been written about. 2 Unknown region planets( one being Sith) Utopia: this planet seemed interesting in the movie Party Members: Jolee, Bastila, Dustil, Atton, A Bothan Senator, Falleen, HK, T3,Mira Non-Party Members(cameo appearances, secondary characters): Mandalore, Carth, Admiral Dodonna, Admiral Vanacus, Zaalbar(as wookie chieftain) and Mission, Cassus Fett(our new bounty hunter), Master Vima, -
Origin of Mandalorians Storyline-wise
Darth Nuke replied to Darth Brooks's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Mandalorians were first mentioned in the Empire Strikes Back novel, though again not by name just," A group of evil warriors who fought in the Clone Wars." The Mandalorian themselves were given a nice role in the old Marvel comics. They were mentioned again in one of boba fetts novels. Later they would take a major role in the Sith War comics and the Open Seasons comics. Of course at that time the history of the Mandalorian was so screwed up because of AOTC things had to be fixed. Thus the Mandalorians got a complete History in Insider 80. -
Not taking risk can also be the reason for losing a war. Alexander took risk throughout most of his campaigns, and he won every battle. True Patton didn't like cowards, he hated cowards. Those men he assaulted were cowards to him. Patton was also a tragic soul, who wanted to test himself. His biggest fear was being wounded. So he would test himself by going to see the wounded in medical camps. His staff should have prevented these visits, but they didn't. Many believe that Pattons assualts were the resualt of seeing all those brave soldiers who were actually wounded him battle, and then seeing those who just wished(at least in his mind) to get a free ride. No doubt Patton did some stupid stuff, but like I said he was one of thos Rare souls like Alexander. There was no reason to be slow in Plunder. Monty had paratroopers, American forces, british forces, heavy artilliary. Patton had the 3rd Army and crossed the ride with only a few men killed. Monty was acting dumb when he didn't need to be. That's why Bradley gave Patton the ok to cross if he had the opportunity. If Patton had been given his chance, he indeed would have taken Berlin. Though we'll never know. and what you say about Patton being the worst is your opinion(granted this is all about opinion). However Patton is looked at as one of the greatest Generals of the War. His break out of France, and his other exploits are what made him a famous Character of the war.
-
Personally I've always viewed him as overrated,I've always had a strong dislike for both hima and his tactics...meh Monty was better And about Alexander-different times=different strategies... It would be much harder for a general now to lead a charge, then 2300 years ago... Times have changed, wars have changed.... Alexander has been glorifies..that's my opinion...and IMHO I liked Cezar more as a tactician... Yes..the man revolutionised warfare and also one of the greatest tacticianers ever...he had more strategic vision than all of the other generals of his time..some of his battles easely show this... The man is a legend... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Monty didn't take risk, that was his problem. And he was slow. Operation Plunder took him 3 weeks to prepare. Patton just takes the 3rd army across the Rine and starts blowing the hell out of crap some days before Monty's plan even takes effect, proving anyone can do it. Monty probably could have won World War 2, problem is we would probably still be waiting for his attack.
-
Rommel was good, but he tried to deal with problems one at a time, and that's why he suffered in Africa(well one of the reasons). Napoleon was good, but his failer clearly shows his lack of vision(of course I only know a little about Nepoleon). Alexander always knew what the enemy was going to do. That's why he never lost. He was practically the greatest warrior that ever lived, and that has nothing to do with that time and this time. Alexander always lead from the front, and on 3 occasions personally lead a charge on the Persian lines. He climbed over the wall of a Mallian city by himself and started hacking away. No enemy ever took on Alexander face to face for long, that why every injury he had was my a projectile weapon. At Issos or Granicus he killed 2 Persian commanders/generals in hand to hand combat. One of them getting a spear in the face. Alexander was one of those Rare humans who had a complete warrior soul. Rommel was more of a soldier, not a warrior. I'm not saying any historically famous commander wasn't good, just that they don't have Alexanders track record. Not to mention Alexander never lost a battle. Also you should remember that Alexander created many things the later Generals like Nepoleon used. My favorite General though is George S. Patton. He's just another one of those very rare humans.
-
Actually Alexander didn't retreat and possibly could have taken India. However his men mutinied, and Alexander gave in to what they had to say. Thus leaving India behind. Interesting enough, he died just a few days before his TRUE global conquest was to begin.
-
Alexander wasn't concidered gay in his time. Macedonians thought nothing wrong with many of the things we condem today. Also gay or not, he ruled practically the known world. So try to lay off on the whole gay account. Who know's the next ruler of the world might be a drag queen. Also Alexander died of an illness. I don't believe he was poisoned since it's been said that any poison would have killed him right away. Alexander lived some days after he was struck ill.
