  1. true, but LA got inundated with Revan talk after K1. to not make ANY mention of Revan would have been problematic, too. so, we have a dilemma: a trilogy that was not paced to be a trilogy or a pseudo-trilogy with different PCs for all three games...they both have advantages and disadvantages. I would LOVE for KOTOR 3 be a non-epic, standalone SW RPG....but they just can't do that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, but his mention is no longer a mention. He pretty much makes him apart of the story once again. His mention in the game wasn't some off hand reference. He was thrown in the game in leading a one man assault against the True enemy of all 3 games. Thus he is once again Charles in Charge. The dilemma is that having 3 Pc hero's to much for this Star Wars Trilogy. If you do make another PC, your basically making up another BS story with the same effects. So now you have a new PC with super powers, the Hawk, and HK-47 and the rest. Then in the end you wonder, "Haven't I seen this all before?" However if you make Revan or Exile the PC, you have those who believe that it takes away from the,"creating your own character," part of the game. However using one of them in the end is the most logical conclusion to the story. Revan is the story, and at least Exile has reason to be apart of it. either way your at an impass, and in the end what we're all probably going to have to do is stop looking at these games as RPGs, and just look at them as Star Wars games.
  2. good point...the trick is not just Revan-- but with things like how do you get T3 and the Hawk in the PC's hands? a possible solution is that the PC is someone who served under the Exile in the Mandalorian Wars. The (set identity) Exile takes up residence at Coruscant (or Dantooine) to try to rebuild the order and gives the ship to a Force Sensitive he trusts from the Mandalorian Wars...just a logical tie-in....no more super-dooper Force prodigies please. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He would have to be a super-doopre force prodigy, because if this New PC is the hero then he destroys the True Sith. Some say KOTOR 1 was Revans game, KOTOR 2 is Exiles game, and 3 is New PC's game. I don't see it that way, seems to be that the entire story is all Revan. KOTOR and 2 connect to Revan, because it just does. I've already explain the reasno why it's all Revans story. He has the biggest connection to the enemy. How can some new PC come out of nowhere and take it from him? None of this would have been a problem is Obsidian hadn't decided to make the story a trilogy. If it had been 3 different games with 3 different stories, and no connection then fine.
  3. Well I certainly don't want to play as a new PC with some wierd connection to the force, and somehow gets the Hawk.
  4. Bioware didn't get pushed around. They delayed KOTOR about 7 times, with the simple notion of, "It will be finished when it's finished." Obsidian clearly didn't have the strenght to bitch slap LFL like Bioware did. and as a result we got KOTOR 2.
  5. No Korriban or Dantooine. Been there done that. There isn't enough to explore on either planet to make either worth adding to the story. Coruscant has plenty to do: Jedi Temple, Senate, Senate district, I sure a merchant area. Other planets Mandalore Utopau Corellia/Centerpoint Station Alderaan New UR World New UR Sith World Droid World Old planets should be used in a cameo format like Coruscant was in KOTOR 2. Therefore we can see planets like Kashyyk,Onderon, and Manaan again but only in a cutscene or to.
  6. Not a good idea to start a sticky or offical storyline thread. For one storyline's by fans will never get used. I believe LFL has a rule against it. That's why when I make idea's I make ideas on Planets, Characters, and such because a fan has more chance to get them in then their storyline. Of course if it's just a "for fun,' thing then whatever.

  8. Oh, and LFL has Revan down as Male. In fact Dan Wallace, the creator of the Essential Chronology, asked LFL what the gender of Revan was, and they said Male. Lightside.
  9. Would have been right up until a few months ago. Tales stopped making infinites stories, and now mostly makes Continuity stories, unless the story has an infinities label. Since the KOTOR story did not, then the Tales story is indeed continuity. The story wasn't about him, but he did appear in a vision seen that Duron Quel-Droma had. Another KOTOR story will be in Tales 24(the last issue), and will focus on Darth Nihilus and Visas Marr.
  10. So your saying LFL is wrong and Revan isn't male?
  11. Canon has Revan a Male. The actual look is up to the player. However when I used to watch the old preview of the game(before it came out) it seems that the white guy with long black hair seemed to biowares choice. He would always appear as Revan in the preview movies.
  12. I'll add Corellia to my list of possible planets. I feel some dumb Senator would love to use a super Weapon like Centerpoint Station against the true Sith. Just hope he doesn't miss like Thrackan Sal-Solo did.
  13. That's some pretty cool stuff they left out of KOTOR 1. Of course it doesn't beat the entire cut half of KOTOR 2. Hell KOTOR 1 has like 4 pieces of cut meterial. Please that's nothing compared to the dozen or so cut scenes from KOTOR 2. KOTOR 2 still leads in cut content.
  14. Star Wars isn't LOTR's. And why a third hero, why ANOTHER guy who is lost to the force somehow, and is the last of the Jedi. Or maybe a nobody somehow gets trained by..no Jedi... and says, "I'm the hero now, this is my war."
  15. Playing as Revan or the Exile again in KotOR III would take a way a portion of the RPG in the KotOR-series. Revan and the Exile can have their war, let a new character be added for the catalyst of events and let the players shape the end for themselves. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah yes another so called last of the Jedi who has some wierd dealings with the force. Whoopy damn do, been there done that.(TWICE) With Revan or the Exile you have a character that has a story to finish. A familiar character that the player can still align with either side, and make look however. To say this isn't Revan's story is an understatement. A Jedi who's main enemy has always been these True Sith, who went to war and fell to the Dark Side to beat them. A Jedi who lost his mind, who was lied to, who's Revenge ended up destroying the very things he needed to win this war. A guy who finds his memories, and realizies that his plan has failed, and that the Galaxy is ten times as weaker then before. And a guy who has taken it upon himself to fight this enemy. Not his story, HA, please. Then you say some New Boy from out of nowhere should take his place as hero, and fight his war, and win it? To fight perhaps the Dark Lord he should get the glory for. A kid who has lost his powers in some wierd fashion. If KOTOR 2 hadn't made Revan into what it did, then I would agree with you. KOTOR 1 was his story and that was it, however KOTOR 2 just made Revan that much more important. Revan has the story to tell. His tale finally finished, and ending this his story. Not some quick death, that yall would give him. I'm sorry but 3 hero's in this series is a crowd.
  16. Killing Revan would be stupid for the story. The war against the True Sith is HIS war, this is his story. To leave him out will make things suck. KOTOR 2 just made him more important than he was before. What KOTOR 3 doesn't need is a new PC. No room for one now. To have one is for cliche and repetitive, not to mention that we'd have to go through another, "Why I'm the most important character," phase.
  17. Revan is the hero, that's his point to the story, he's the one who did everything to try to stop the True Sith. The true Sith on the other hand are just the enemy that has been around the entire time. It was the True Sith that swayed the Mandalorians to believe that the final war was coming. Thus a superior army and enemy was weakened, and no longer stands against the True Sith alone. Revan found information on the true Sith, and made a plan to stop them, but it seems this was in their plan as well. Revan attacks the Republic, hoping to help, destroying much of the Republic fleet in the process. However IF he were to win the Ship yards and the Star Forge would give him an army able to destroy the True sith. This wasn't meant to be, and a mindless Revan ended up destroying a good size of the army and the super battle station he needed to win. Exile finishes the job with Kreia and Atris help. Because of Atris a good size of thsoe 100 Jedi still around are destroyed, and because of Kreia the Jedi Masters are destroyed. Exile, with help from Republic fleet, pretty much destroys the last remnants of the Revan and Malak Sith. Take a count A small army of Mandalorians left A small Republic Fleet left Hardly any Jedi left The fate of the Republic now lies in one man who has ventured into the Cloak of the Sith. He might have an Exile to lend a hand, but none of this matters at the moment. Kreia implied that the Great Battle was about to begin, and so the True Sith are ready for war. the Republic might as well hang a huge sign saying WELCOME ALL TRUE SITH. I would exspect that the last part of the TS plan is to cause unrest in the Senate.
  18. Just coastal areas. Go further inland and the KOTOR style might appear.
  19. Also the Mandalore Hk faught. For a time I thought it was Mandalore the Ultimate, but he died during the events of Malachor V. Hk was built after Malachor V, and sent to face the MANDALORE in Mandalorian Space/sector where he was defeated by him. So who is this Mandalore, because it isn't Canderous. Without the mask I would guess that this Mandalore is of the original race, which means his power outwieghs Canderous. Since Canderous is only a converted human.
  20. for as long as we are in the Revan saga, anyway. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yep
  21. The Hawk is to KOTOR as the Falcon is to the OT. So like it or not the Hawk is the games destined ship.
  22. In a recent Dark Forces article at the WOTC site it speaks of an area in the Unknown Regions called the Cloak of the Sith. Perhaps whoever makes the game should probably make use of the name.
  23. That risk becoming way to repetitive. Why Datooine when the Jedi Temple on Coruscant is enough? Why not Utopau instead of Dantooine? Utopau itself could have been one of the places the Jedi Order was created. Sure it has enough story value. Epecially if other lost Jedi are on planet. If you have Ziost you don't need Korriban. I'd say you need one Sith Planet in known space, and then the Unknown Region Sith world. Coruscant is the ultimate planet: Probably going to be the biggest of all the maps if in KOTOR 3 since it has the Senate,Temple, and many other areas of interest. But places like Kashyyk and Tatooine just don't have any reason to return. Clearly if we return to these planet the longest we would be there is about an hour each concidering we did everything we needed to do on them in KOTOR and KOTOR 2. I'd rather have all new planets, perhaps one from KOTOR to tie the series together. However but have other planets make Cameo appearanes. Like a cut scene on Kashyyk showing Zaalbar or Onderon showing a scene around the queen. But the actual planets themselves seem to be a waste of time. Of course this all doesn't mean your choices are bad, I just don't see the importance of most of them. I'd rather have new planets, with manybe one old one. To tell you the truth I think the game should start with an Unknown Region planet near the end of their search for Revan. Therefore this search would only take up about 5 hours of the game, and the rest can be about the Republic vs the True Sith. I guess in the end I wouldn't mind going to some of those planet again, but as long as they had a superd story for each. Of course we don't know anything at the moment so I'll just stick with mine. Coruscant Mandalore:(which is a real planet) Alderaan UR Sith World Ziost(ice planet; well for the most part) New UR world Utopau Ithor With Cameo's from Kashyyk and Manaan
  24. Planets have to have more then just, "I want to go back there," value. All those are basically the same planets there were in 1 and 2. Not good choices I'd say for the last game especially Korriban, Kashyyk,Dantooine, Telos, Onderon, and by god Tatooine. The Sith aren't going to want Tatooine, and theres nothing else there save Star ports. Kashyyk: The wookiee's are in control, and nothing to do save cover everything you did in 1. Dantooine: 2 games is enough Korriban: 2 games for this place is two much Onderon: Nothing really story signifigant would come from this planet really since it's main plot was in KOTOR 2. Telos: I'll agree that might be a good place to go back to, but it's just a boring map. I believe planets have to have story value. For instance MANDALORE, home of the Mandalorians. What's it's story value? For one the SITH would want to find it and attack it, because any Mandalorians are dangerous Mandalorians. You also might find yourself in a Mandalore Civil war between Canderous and the other Mandalore that HK faught. You get a first time look at Mandalorian cities, government, women, and ships.
  25. It's Utopau, and was one of the planets in Episode 3.
