That's exactly what I thought of when I read this thread. In SWG, you can get pets, and at their peak (before Creature Handlers were nerfed) SWG was referred to as "Star Wars Pokemon." I really do think the idea of having pets is terrible. They wouldn't add to combat, just distract you from what should be simple, fun combat: party vs. enemy. Not some animal in the fray helping you. If T3 is coming back than isn't that good enough? Now I wouldn't mind a **** fight type minigame, like the swoop races. You go to the fighting arena, sign up your animal, then you'll play as him as you duel another and win cash. (Or bet on the other and take a dive hehehe). But outside of a minigame that you have to willingly go to a place to participate in, NO.

I question and suggestion

More variety would be nice, but remember it's 4000 years ago, that's why the robes are different. If they do add more, I defintely DON'T want to see clones of the robes in the PT and OT. Just some different ones. I don't get was sarcastic there either, and I'm a very sarcastic guy. -
Oh God I hated Bastila. First impressions are very important, and the first things out of her mouth after that swoop race made me want to kill her right then. What makes me even madder is that the game naturally forces you to become closer to Bastila and farther from Carth, who I wanted to be my buddy. Everything about Bastila bothered me. Her attitude was terrible, she thought she was the best, because she was a special Jedi, but she had the worst frame of mind of any Jedi I've ever dreamed of, and she sucked in battle. She fell to the Dark Side of the Force (Yeah, some Jedi she is "I will never fall to the Dark Side" my ass), and even when she was evil, embracing the dark side, fueled by hatred and the Star Forge itself, it took all of 5 seconds to whoop her b**chy little behind. In short, I don't like Bastila, I never have, and I'm not exactly itching to see her in KOTOR II, but my feelings aside, it would be very difficult to say how she would appear. Not as party memeber for sure, but in her cameo, if there is one, there's a lot to explain, because there are too many significant possibilities. Either light side, and in love with Revan, dark side as revan's apprentice, or dead. It will have a lot to do with what you say happened to Revan, I think.

Okay, the game engine is great and all, so I suppose they could reuse that, but it wouldn't be a sequel to KOTOR Period. Itr's knights of the Old Republic, OLD, so it could in no way be KOTOR III, maybe KOTNR or somethng.

You are a Jedi, who has given up the force, but not is needed. But before you get your saber you must go through three trials, during which you meet a love interest, the governer of the planet you're on. Along the way, you will engage in many saber fights, using insults and comebacks as your weapons instead of simple swings and parries, in a unique, "Insult-Saber fighting".When your trials are complete, the governor is kidnapped by mystic, ghost like pirates, and you must chase them to their secret, hidden planet that is shrouded in mystery and can never be found. In the final battle, you defeat their evil lord with a well placed spray of root beer. The End.

I think I found an Image of Dantooine
JawaJoey replied to Archmonarch's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I was just looking at the Screenshots from KOTOR 1, and there are dozens that aren't possible in game. Like force powers on Taris, HK47 on taris, a Zaalbar in a room on the Endar Spire, and many examples of enemies in places they shouldnt be. -
KOTOR is one upcomng game I won't mind not getting a demo for. It's too big to have just a snippet of it. And you can't just include one "Level." KOTOR isn't like that. And any Endar Spire type level would not only be not very fun, but it'd pretty much be just like KOTOR. Think about it. All the differences between 1 and 2 are only accessible after thorough playing. New feats, powers, characters, plotlines. None of those could fit in an Endar Spire type level. Fo it to be any different, it'd have to be later in the game, and unless they forgot how to write a plot since the first game, I don't think they'll be doing that.

It's not like an MMORPG, where you can go around endlessly killing mobs until you level up. True, there are certain things that respawn at certain places, like Wild Rancors, Kath Hounds, and Wraids, but those don't give enough XP to level up much. Most of the xp comes from going through the story, which can't just go back and do with another character. If you took all the XP given throughout the game, and divided it among your characters rather than giving all of it to all of them, you probably wouldn't have any characters over level 10. The way this game works doesn't allow you to just "Level up" any character you want, it just comes by playing the game. So say you used a few characters in the beginning of the game a lot, and they were pretty powerful later on, but you hadn't touched the others. Eventually, you'll want variety and to change chracters, but in the harder places, your other characters wouldn't work, because they'd suck. Sure it's fine and dandy to use Mission with 30 VP on Taris, but on the Unknown Planet, if she hasn't leveled up, you couldn't use her, what with all the Rancors hitting for 40 points. She simply wouldn't be an option. The game encourages you to use all the mebmers of your party for different situations and the XP share system actually makes that possible. The game is all about choices and options, and if you didn't share XP, then you'd be severely limited in your party options, and if you wanted to be able to use any character whenever you wanted, you'd be forced to devote equal game time to all of them throughout the entire game, which you probably wouldn't want to do.

I think I found an Image of Dantooine
JawaJoey replied to Archmonarch's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That's one of the earlier screenshots, so it's probably just a test. Just because there's a Horn Kath hound in the shot doesn't mean that it's automatically a scene on Dantooine. I doubt there are going to be any animals in a sunny plaza like that. But on the subject of Dantooine, I don't think it was bombarded to dust. First of all, there's not a whole lot to bombard. Some farms and the Jedi Enclave? waster of energy if you ask me. More importantly, Malak has a bunch of captured Jedi from Dantooine, so obviously he assaulted it first or something. I think it's most likely that he raided the enclave, then blew it to bits, leaving the rest of the world intact. It's not like there's anything else there, anyways. -
How about a bathroom?

Palpatine at Battle Meditation. Woah. I remember reading it somewhere, the visual dictionary I think, that the Dark Side of the Force can prolong your life at the expense of twisting physical effects. AHA! I found the quote: "While the Force has twisted his face, it has also sutained him beyond his years, and even in his old age the Emperor remains a figure of terrible power." In KOTOR, I don't think there's much to add to DS disconfiguration, except for maybe some more 3D effects. In the first game, your skin and eyes changed color, but you didn't actually get all wrinkly, and the rest of your body didn't reflect the change.

Ranged weapons more powerful - why?
JawaJoey replied to Mr. Teatime's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I like the prequels. They aren't blasphemous slaps in the face to the OT. Some people need to calm down. Lets not make this the Catholic curch or anything. But I must agree, the worst thing George Lucas has ever done is make Greedo fire first. Wait, why did I come into this thread? Oh yeah, it's supposed to be about KOTOR 2. -
You "forgot" to use the force? oh, come on....
JawaJoey replied to Meshugger's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It's make sense for you to "Have fought in the Mandalorian Wars, but didn't fall to the darkside, instead exiled yourself in embarrassment." Over the years, you escaped notice, and through lack of use, your control of the force diminishes. Then you're called upon so you must work up your control once again. Anything like "blocking" the force is just plain stupid. Not only is it just plain stupid, but it's way to reminiscent of KOTOR 1. And you don't need it. It's not like you "forgot" how to use the force. "Oh ****, I lost my keys. Damn, I forgot my gilrlfreinds birthday. Crap, I forgot how to wield the force." No no no no. It takes training to be able to use the force, and if you stop using it, it'll become less familiar and it requires mroe practice to regain control. Simple as that. -
Strong hints that more than T3-M4....
JawaJoey replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Why does Everyone like Yuthura? She didn't stick out at all to me. She was just a character at the sith academy. Nothing special. And 2 out of three times she dies in KOTOR 1. Carth was great. I can't believe people are compleining about him. Just because he tried to prevent you from being evil doesn't mean that he's a bad guy, after all. If Vandar shows up, it'll probably just be him advising, teaching or whatever those Jedi Masters do. I think it's very likely the Canderous will be a party member. He's liked, he always survives, and I get the feeling there's a lot more to learn about him. The continuation of him dealing with his past. He misses some, he regrets some, there's just so much mroe to learn about the guy. Bastila.... meh. Didn't liker her in the first game, don't see how she'll be better in the second. Juhani. No. Mission. No. Unless they don't fix the Twilek skins from the first game, I wouldn't miss seeing Mission ever again. I don't get what went wrong with the twileks. All the girls are down right ugly. Big nose, wierd eyes, stange coloration, vergin on fat. *shudders* And the males all had the same concerned look on their eyebrows. Stupid. Jolee. Loved him in the first game but I don't want to see him in your party this time. I wouldn't mind seeing him just hanging around somewhere, observing other people, being the funny old man he always is. Zaalbar. He should be back as kashyyk by now, and no one's going there, assuming light side. I wouldn't miss him terribly. Either way, I think no one should go to kashyyk in this game, and you shouldn't see many wookies at all, if any. T3- He wasn't terrible in the first game. In fact, I just used him on the Star forge. He was a little shallow as a character. If he's revamped I wouldn't mind seeing him again. HK-47- Loved him. I'd like him to be in the party, but someone said it and made me realize that he's Revan's property, and has no plaace following someone else around. If he's not there, I defintiely want a maniacal, twisted assaissin droid or something...unless that's what they have planned for T3.... Dustil would be interesting, but I think he should be paried with his father. Either both together on Telos, working things out, or both in your party. That'd be interesting.
