  1. There is a practical reason that PC versions are released later. PCs are more complicated. Xboxes are standard. You buy an xbox, and any xbox game plays on it, unless you've screwed it up while trying to mod or something like that. Bu Not every game plays on every PC. Different video cards, sounds cards, RAM, brands and everything mean that more time testing must be spent to ensure that the game works on the system it claims too. Also stupid programs people put on their PCs might interfere with the game running properly. There's a just a whole lot more that can go wrong in a PC, because no two are exactly the same, while Xboxes are pretty much all identical. In general, more time must be spent on the PC version to ensure stability. And if anyone brings up Battlefront (which came out on PS2, Xbox, and PC on the same day), then that's my point in itself. Just play the PC version and it's obvious they needed to spend more time on it. Though that's a problem with the game in general, not just the PC version I guess.
  2. /concur I'm guessing that at this point the game is completed. The only reason they need to spend more time on the PC version is because of testing. When you get an Xbox, you have an xbox. any xbox game runs on an xbox. Simple. PC's though, have diferent sound cards different video cards, varying levels of ram, different brands, and stupid crap people put on their computers that could interfere with running the game. They have to test all of that to make sure the game is working for all the PC's. Since the Xbox version is done and released, they're obviously not working on the game itself, just polishing it and porting it for the PC, which takes longer than Xobxs because it's more complicated. And this is the part where it's very important, because if they just released what they had now, there would probably be tons of glitches and other issues. I perfer them taking their time to ensure a stable, functioning game client. But that isn't to say I'm not having a fit of the "HURRY UP!!!"s.
  3. The devs were either going to spend time making the game look good, or making it good. They chose making the game good, and I commend them for it. The graphics for KOTOR 1 were great. They weren't state of the art, but they were pretty damn good. Go to that lookout on the unknown world and tell me the graphics are poor. The reason RPGs often don't worry about graphics as much is that there is more than the environment to emerse you in the world, which is often somewhat unrealistic. In an FPS, you're walking around the world shooting stuff, and all you have is your surroundings to convince you. In an RPG, there are characters with needs and personalities to convince you. When it comes down to it, I'd always rather have a fantastic game than a fantastic looking game, especially when it means that I get the same, plenty good graphics from before. Also, there were no crippling bugs in KOTOR. People who complain about the technical stuff really need to do one of two things: get over it, or save more often.
  4. There was not hand-to-hand in the true sense, but if you didn't equip a character with a weapon they would punch or kick the enemy. It just didn't do much damage. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, it pretty much does whatever your strength mod is. So even with awesome strength, you still do crap damage.
  5. Uh yeah, I wouldn't mind, but that'd make him imbalanced. Basically, the only useful stats for HK are DEX, CON and maybe INT if you want his repair skill to be better. If they put all the points into DEX instead of trying to even them out, he'd have a massive DEX, and consequently would have a very high defense, much higher than any other character, which would be very strange and imbalanced. I, same as most others probably, put all of his attribute points into DEX, but that doesn't mean that it makes sense to have all of his starting attributes in DEX. Maybe, if they changed anything, they should have put a little less into strength and put a alittle more into CON and DEX, but from an RP standpoint, it's fien, and from a gameplay standpoint, it doesn't really matter.
  6. It's kind of strange that you want to be light side and a consular if that apparently wasn't fun. There will surely be new powers for both light and dark, so you can count on it being better than KOTOR 1. Don't expect any offensive powers, though. There were no offensive light side powers in KOTOR 1 for a reason. And yeah, Dark Rage sounds bad. It was bad in JA, and it sounds bad here. So many games have a berserk or rage or something, and it's always dumb.
  7. I was confused about that, too. You mean Scout. Not scoundrel. And that second option is gross.
  8. It wasn't HK's style to be melee. He's just not meant to do that. I guess the strength is just for roleplaying, because he's a frickin robot made for combat, he's going to be strong. Plus, they had to put some points in something. Seriously, what are they going to put it in? Charisma?
  9. R u a complete moron? Or just 12 years old? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And you find out that shack is zalbar <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OMG!!1!!1 You liek totally spoiled it. OH EM GEE i can't beleive it now the game is like totally ruined WTF LIEK OMG!!!!1!!!
  10. I disagree. All of the hints I thought were very well designed and written. They were presented in such a way that most people wouldn't realize it for most of the game, but looking back, the hints would seem so clever that they should have been obvious. They served to make the revalation make more sense, and were intersting to see in later playthroughs. None of them were blatant enough to suggest anything on their own. Not until Malak is laughing about how you don't know, and then the following cutscene when all the hints are shown together does it become easy to percieve the truth before they specifically state it. It was all well done, and showed good writing.
  11. You commie. Not to mention it would suck. About the original topic, I think it's reather pointless. It's weird enough with Revan being male/female light/dark killed bastila/left her alive. Having money be involved wouldn't make the game more interesting and would be a pain to put in the game. There's just no good reason to do that.
  12. Of course it's possible. You're really underestimating the game developers if you think that they won't be able to think of any new powers or side quests. In 1909 a guy resigned from the patent office because "Everything has already been invented." You're also underestimating the power of a successful franchise. The KOTOR engine is great, and wouldn't need a huge facelift by the time a KOTOR 3 comes out. The graphics will improve in each game no matter what, even if they don't change the engine.
  13. Taking that woman's wraid skull plate, her last possession after her husband was killed hunting and the only oppurtunity she had to leave the backwater planet she was on, and selling it for myself.
  14. Equilibrium rocks. Way better than the Matrix. Reminiscent of 1984 (the book, not the year). I didn't like Pazaak. I LOVE blackjack, but I don't really like Pazaak. The way it works bothers me, having only four cards that you can use the ENTIRE game, it just makes the game more frustrating. So I try to conserve the cards, then I use one to get 20, and the computer 85% of the time gets 20 also. Or I get a 19 and they'd get a natural 20. And whenever I win the first to rounds, they always, always, 100% of the time make a miraculous comeback. I didn't know that Suvam Tan gives you a discount if you beat him. How much of a discount? How many times do you have to beat him?
  15. I liked the way the Star Forge robes looked on a male PC. They were unique. I haven't tried them on a female yet.
  16. I did notice that LS items favored consulars and DS items favored Guardians. But it didn't alter the game that much for me. As a light side guardian, I just used the nuetral itmes which helpes a bunch, and DS consulars are offensive enough as it is. It helps that LS gets big WIS bonuses, because all those skills are supportive, and they need them to work better to be on par with the DS consulars. I think the reason for DS items of less quality was that it just happened to come out that way. The devs probably meant to eb balanced but just didn't actually make them good or unique enough. Either way, it never really bothered me and I hardly noticed.
  17. Yeah, I guess I probably should have been able to figure that out... it's kind of.... uncomplicated.... yeah.... Thanks though.
  18. KOTOR crashed a few times for me, mainly from using up all my memory, I think. It helps that I almost always leave my computer on standby, so I'd have to close the game shut down, restart, then load it up again and it'd work better. But there are times when it just crashed, but it wasn't that bad. But I wouldn't complain if TSl wasl more stable . Which, in the case of your KOTOR disc, would be their first born child.
  19. Calo Nord's armor was really good, and looked cool. Cassus Fett's looks kind of wierd... I really like the Mandalorian Assault armor you get from the Mando leader on the unkown world, because when you eqip that, it includes the helmet. I like suiting up Canderous like a true Mandalorian warrior. Ooh!Ooh! I know what I want in TSL, HELMETS! You could have a visor, a mask, or a full helmet that would be like another armor peice, but wouldn't interfere with powers and stuff. That's be cool.
  20. Could someone point me in the direction of further descriptions of said classes, which I have as of yet seen no information on.
  21. For real armor, I likes the exoskeletons (light/heavy) that you get at Yavin. When upgrades, they rock. Calo's armor was also cool. And almost every time I play I end up wearing the echani fiber armor from when I first get it on Taris until I get some Jedi robes. But I always use robes as a Jedi, and you just can't beat the star forge robes, they are simply the best. Qel droma robes are cool, for light side, but star forge are better. If I'm ever not wearing anything, it's usually underwear. I can't resist the skivies. Plus, the only class outfit that doesn't look retarted is the Scout outfit. Seriously, have you seen the scoundrel one? The pants look like they have footies!
  22. If the game's going to have more feats and powers, and all of the old ones, then they have to increase the level cap. In the first one there were problems of not having enough levels to get some of the stuff you wanted. Also, I, like most people who played the game thoroughly I'd think, reached level 20 around the beginning of the unknown world. I'd rather get powerful and finish the game and know that I could have still gotten more level and become better, than become the best I can be a not improve for the rest of the game. I think 40 levels is excessive though, 25 or 30 sounds good to me, unless you don't start at level one or something.
  23. How exactly do two puppets.... um.. nevermind. Let's face it, there have been a total of three yoda people: Yoda, Yaddle, and Vandar. All three happened to be on the council. Three isn't significant substantiation to claim that they're all Jedi Masters. And keep in mind you'd be an idiot to claim that they are all Jedi Masters. Remember, they don't just hand out the Master title to every big eared frog the second they're born, it takes time, no matter how naturally force inclined your species may or may not be.
  24. I like the Hawk. It's a great ship.
  25. Its certainly not the Falcon. That's proposterous. Maybe the ship originally belonged to your character, and when you went into hiding or whatever you gave it away and it changed hands until it got to Revan, who later got rid of it for a new ship, and it kept changing hands until it gets back to you. You know, the "will of the force" HK got back in Revan's hands by an absolute miracle, why not the HawK?
