This one I stumbled upon completely by accident - it's in gui.stringtable

<DefaultText>Get more mods at:</DefaultText> <FemaleText />

<DefaultText>Nexus Mods</DefaultText> <FemaleText />
Just commenting...

I did a level cap adjust today as an experiment setting it to 30 The thing is we'll be getting proper DLC expansions soon so I'm wondering if it's worth it. Levelcap is a one line change but then there's a load of other things to alter - especially the ExperienceLevelTable Eventually it becomes impossible to earn any more XP anyway so 30 is way to high anyway Adjusting the XP Multipliers I guess makes for more XP available but then you hit another problem - what do you spend it on. I suppose after Oblivion stop DLCs then such a mod makes sense but is it worth doing yet? Actually this makes much more sense for POE1...

I've posted in Tech with a Sticky Req to resolve this problem It's far from obvious this is the place to be - I guess this account's for the low traffic (I'm fine with low-ish traffic as I only have so much time available, gives me more time to spend on decent MODs) There are a fairly small group of us in that forum who write fun things. Who says size matters (sic) - while we're a small bunch we like all modders are dedicated Go look at https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/ for the results of our work

[Pls sticky this one - maybe other forums as well] I've noticed, twice today, MOD reqs transferred to the correct forum We have a small but dedicated team in THIS FORUM Personally, I've written five (one was a variant) I suggest you post in the MODs forum as that's the one we all read You will find us all helpful and willing to help Pls bear in mind that it may take us some time to resolve your MOD as POE2 is complex (with sod all documentation) We're here to make the game work the way you want it to rather than the way you get it

Pedantic comment I know it skews the game but is a valid REQ I'd much prefer a pet shop (I can buy a Nemnok from etc) The potential MOD is to solve two problems / REQs IF I can get it working 1) It fulfils the original REQ 2) It relaxes Vendor clash

Tomorrow I'm gonna TRY to add a vendor - can't promise this will work (often I know when something is defo gonna work - this one is HMMM) If I give her a load of junk doe that fulfil this REQ? Chests I've been exploring today - no luck yet....

Vendors x Mods

The above exploration was simply working out how the world works (trying to stuff crap in chests etc). Tomorrow I'm gonna explore turning a named NPC into a vendor (cross fingers on this one) Any scripted character can theoretically have their own shop - there's a script to open their store for example. Think I'll try Waenglith (again) I'll, obviously, share my frustrations and (hopefully) end result if I can get it to work IF I get this working it'll completely remove the lack of vendors (last try didn't work) -

OK - there's a huge shortfall in GUIDs There are 17,113 in exported and 57,175 in levelXXXX These are Unique per file ignoring 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 Some GUIDs are in multiple files I'm examining But the breakdown ain't any better (far worse) 5,068 vs 44,200 If anyone want's my data and knows how to drive MySQL drop me a note and I'll make it all available (anyone can do this so I'm simply saving time for other devs) - it's not well connected yet (lots of files yet to do) but I'll try to explain everything Note that the MySQL only uses the English stringtables (so I can read them) - it's extremely easy to do extracts for other languages so if you need them just ask. -

1522b748-9761-4c17-981c-ebe76dfc5127 This is what I was on about with levels - it's explicitly referenced in level20 (Sanza's Store) Any changes to it should result in changes owing to this reason I've got a DB of all the GUIDs and which level file they occur in It's not much use yet as I need to cross-reference this with the levels, characters, items etc (wrote a mod this AM - will get back to this sometime soon) -
Oops - just edited the description In fact Modwyr now shows as Quality: +1 Stupid me, I disabled the mod to do screengrabs for a NexusMods title page The mod replaces the Qualities globally (not seen any reference to fine anywhere yet) There are some descriptions that still include the quality words but its a lot of work to change those ones for little return. In some cases fine is the correct word - you drink fine wine, not +1 wine
-
Nope, it only changes text so Achievements etc are still fine + dandy. Mods are encouraged by Obsidian (sod all documentation though) It may argue with other mods that change items, itemmods and recipes text - that's the only possible issue. Apparently a mod clash results in a random mod being applied. If someone did a full Welsh mod (my family live in Wales) such a mod you'd simply switch the language - Achievemets would still function correctly (but I believe not be translated as they apparently are external data) It ONLY replaces the specific items with 'Fine', 'Exceptional', 'Superb' or 'Legendary' in them which makes for a small mod (198 total changes) Unique items are unaffected even though they are +X - e.g. Modwyr still shows as Modwyr (it's a Fine, now +1 quality sword) I just ran thru some language translations - chose to do de, pl + ru as they're all Adjective first. The results were a disaster (see below) and as I only speak English there's nothing I can do. I was doing a simple string swap using Boots (item 2422 - 5) as a template en mods/pdx-dnd-quality/localized/en/text/game/items.stringtable (179) mods/pdx-dnd-quality/localized/en/text/game/itemmods.stringtable (9) mods/pdx-dnd-quality/localized/en/text/game/recipes.stringtable (10) de mods/pdx-dnd-quality/localized/de/text/game/items.stringtable (58) mods/pdx-dnd-quality/localized/de/text/game/itemmods.stringtable (0) mods/pdx-dnd-quality/localized/de/text/game/recipes.stringtable (0) pl mods/pdx-dnd-quality/localized/pl/text/game/items.stringtable (12) mods/pdx-dnd-quality/localized/pl/text/game/itemmods.stringtable (1) mods/pdx-dnd-quality/localized/pl/text/game/recipes.stringtable (1) ru mods/pdx-dnd-quality/localized/ru/text/game/items.stringtable (4) mods/pdx-dnd-quality/localized/ru/text/game/itemmods.stringtable (0) mods/pdx-dnd-quality/localized/ru/text/game/recipes.stringtable (0)

This was a forum Req Cosmetic mod to change descriptions to be more DND-ish Fine -> +1 Exceptional -> +2 Superb -> +3 Legendary -> +4 Actually I instinctively associate Exceptional as being better than Superb but POE says otherwise so I learned something throwing this one together. This mod marks the better items extremely clearly. https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/113

Just prepping to do this mod The quality has five levels Normal (0) Fine (+1) Exceptional (+2) Superb (+3) Legendary (+4) Something counter-intuitive here, at least to myself, is I imagined exceptional to be better than superb (it's the other way around) An upshot of the requested DND-style naming is that it becomes blatant that +3 is better than +2

Here's a list checklist of 106 quests (the ref is for my use) There are another five involving items (e.g. Morwyn) It should be noted that you can't do all of them owing to factions The Level is what POE2 informs me your character level should be This is part of an ongoing project but I thought you guys deserved it first Rats - forums messed it up - try again... OK - the attached HTML works OK qlist.html

Vendors x Mods

I've been regex-ing out the level files today for UUIDs (basically I'm working out who / what is where) There are 1,118 level files each of which contain between 0 and a lot UUIDs - e.g. Sanza's shop has > 100 uniques including Sanza + his pet) Many are orphans but you can track down people and items to places then back-track to the map That's where I'm up to Expanding on this items will also be in there which allow the concept of modding a chest I'll know more when I've done worldmap + items -
From what I can glean Obsidian basically made there own ruleset so while they basically branched DND for a start I'm pretty sure this one would involve itemmods.stringtable There are (from memory) five levels of item plusmods but they are specific to the items So, I could create a very simple mod (famous last words) that changed fine into +1 etc Such a mod would be purely cosmetic, no actual mod to the stats

This was interesting... I extracted all the UUIDs out of all the level files. The reason I did this is that it allows you to identify a level file as being a specific location (they also have the AR_XXXXXXX stuff in them) - that's next What I am aiming to do is find the locations that the level files refer to and their contents For example Sanza only occurs in level20, "Sanza's Map Emporium" exists in levels 2, 19 and 20 (Netakha, Queens Berth and his shop) as his shop exists in all three. Running thru this I see his shop described, included and pre-loaded in various levels As most levels have unique characters it should be pretty easy to link any character to it's location The same goes for items (not processed that one yet) My current build has been going on for "ages" but will pump out good info. And - it's finished... 44,200 UUIDs found! Now I have to match them to their characters / items (minus the orphans)
-
I find this stuff annoying too I wanna skip directly to character creation I looked for intro stuff but more likely they're the prologue ones I'm busy tomoz working out chars starting locations so will look at this when I have a spare mo in the next few days I noticed some skip stuff so this looks hopeful

Nerds subclass
peardox replied to peardox's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire: Modding (Spoiler Warning!)
Yeah I was just thinking of another potentially fun class. I'm working on reverse-engineering Quests still (aiming to create a new one as a MOD) so if anyone wan't to pick Nemnok up I'm happy (busy on Quests) -
Anyone want it? I've processed both these and the stringtables they link to but they provide a LOT of info on characters in POE2. I skipped the KeywordsIDs, SkillsList for example and the EquipmentSetComponent as I'm having issues matching keys as they're unimportant to what I'm exploring. This stuff links to some other tables I've finally worked out that allow me to say who provides a quest, who you target and what you have to do. I now fully believe it to be possible to add a new quest as a MOD for the fun of the MOD community - I'm a bit of this yet. If you want the tables you'll need MySQL knowledge and how to import a MySQLDump. This is useful to look up stats of named characters (plus other things) I've got all the stringtables done but should prob multi-lingual them (won't take long) Front-end I leave to you...
