  1. Oh man, really? I'll be sure to order through the site then.
  2. Finally reached 100% completion in Hollow Knight! What a game. I'm still not done though... I'm yet to beat the true final boss as well as finish the Arena and tackle the DLCs... but the game says I'm 100% complete so I'm running with it.
  3. That synopsis in italics - what ever it might mean here, if anything - at least sounds awfully generic and offputting. It's... baaaad. Well, the book got a pretty average score from what I can see. I'm gonna assume that it's entirely coincidental and unrelated for the time being. Edit: Oh God. It seems the gaming news sites have picked up on this now... starting to wish I hadn't mentioned that sodding book. :|
  4. I've experienced these issues before (Magento Web Support Developer) but I'm obviously not in any position to fix this for Obsidian. In the meantime, why not just pre-order direct through Steam?
  5. So I was digging around on Justia Trademarks out of interest, mainly looking for any new information on the Starfield trademark filed by Bethesda Game Studios. Out of interest I started looking into other projects, Fallout, New Vegas and so on, to see when they were filed and the different stages and so on. Basically, I was very bored. I then looked up Pillars of Eternity, and clicked through to the Obsidian page to see the other things they had filed and when. I was expecting to see things like Project Eternity, Tyranny and so on. Then I noticed that just over a week ago there were four new trademarks filed for something called The Outer Worlds. These trademarks seem to include everything from videogame software to printed media to board/trading card games. You can see the trademarks for yourself here: https://trademarks.justia.com/owners/obsidian-entertainment-inc-1303648/ The only major reference I could find to the same title was a novel (first in a series) published in 2016, but I'm pretty sure that this is entirely unrelated: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Outer-Worlds-Book-Epherian-Chronicles-ebook/dp/B01JVS6OU6 I'm certain that Obsidian would want to write and develop the story themselves, but the blurb from that page sounds exactly like the premise for a role playing adventure: "An alien invasion sweeps across the galaxy. The hope of humanity rests with an exile from an ancient empire and his loyal crew. They must work together to save the human race from imminent extinction. High adventure on a galactic scale." I don't know if any of this means anything, but knowing that Obsidian is working on Pillars 2 as well as a secret AAA RPG, this looks a lot like they are going all in with it. A tie in TCG, and printed media similar perhaps to the All Roads graphic novel which tied in with New Vegas? Would be interesting to see what you guys think?
  6. I've only really heard the occasional update about this project, but I like the sound of a lot of the things I've heard. Mainly the multiple solutions to issues and the hardcore approach to quest locations (no markers, just specific instructions). However, I'm not really big on the lack of a character creation and the voice protagonist in these sorts of games. I'm going to wait on the reviews, but the lack of fantasy elements is off putting for me also.
  7. I'd forgotten about this survey! :D Good to see the results. Personally when it comes to DLC, I buy the base game first and then grab the DLC as and when it comes out depending on my interest. Fallout 4 was the first and last time I bought a season pass. (Fool me once, etc) I feel that playing the base game first lets me get to grips with the world and the characters, especially in an RPG. Then, when the DLC arrives I can take those characters with their knowledge and throw them into a totally new environment with a new set of challenges. One of my fondest memories is stepping into Zion in Honest Hearts or Big M.T. in Old World Blues and just being blown away with how different it was.
  8. The entire Hollow Knight soundtrack. Part of the reason that this was my Game of the Year for 2017
  9. I've not played any other games in the series, but I highly recommend Divinity: Original Sin 2.
  10. I'm currently replaying Fallout: New Vegas with three different characters. I'm also working my way through Pillars of Eternity in order to complete it before Deadfire drops. Finally, I'm playing PUBG most nights with a few friends.
  11. I personally wouldn't mind if there was no voice acting at all. I personally find it really jarring in Pillars and Tyranny when a character speaks aloud for half of a conversation and then suddenly goes mute for certain options...
