Arduin-Grimoire an Interesting License?
There is no way I would touch a Rollmaster game, PnP or computer.

World Of Darkness
Why not? They kick ass! Well, NWN2 does. In any case I would love to get my hands on a d20 Modern game that adheres very closely to the rules system and has a tools set. Hmmm... Maybe the Unreal 3 engine could be used for this?

Saddam Hussein Goes to Meet Allah
No, but we choose who they had the choice of to be elected, and if a candidate showed up that wasn't "pro-US" he and his followers will be declared "terrorists." Do you thikn the US would allow al Sadr to lead Iraq? Take Palastine for example. Hamas is the rightly elected government, but do the US recognize that fact? No, because they are a terrorist organization. The bottomline we are sticking our nose where it does not belong and we are doing so on false pretenses set up by the Bush Administration. The only right thing to do is leave.

Saddam Hussein Goes to Meet Allah
The current Iraqi government might as well be an arm of the US government. The current Iraqi leaders would not be in power if the the US government didn't support them.

World Of Darkness
What I want to see is a fully developed d20 Modern CRPG with a tool system. Make a near future cyberpunk styled campaign setting, but have the toolset be able to do other styles as well. Here's the kicker, have the game be able to use NWN2 models, scripts, and the rules system and vice versa that way if you have both games installed you have huge amount of resources to develop modules in. Yes, make it stand alone, but have it act as an "expansion" in sharing resources.

The Escapist: The Rise and Fall of Troika
No. It is a business. The point of a business is to make money. You make money buy providing a product that is popular and cheap to make and maintain. The Gaming business is no different than any other business. Those who fail to be profitable die. Troika died. However, popular does not always equal something being good.

The Escapist: The Rise and Fall of Troika
Of course. Something that is deemed good or not good it solely based on the opinion of the individual. I never said otherwise.

Toyota's new Supra?: It's a hybrid
Its better than an expensive plastique toy unless you have a remote detonator.

The Escapist: The Rise and Fall of Troika
Popular does not equal good, but it does equal good sales which the publisher's primary concern. Everything else is secondary.

The Escapist: The Rise and Fall of Troika
In theory, but not always the case. PS:T is one of the best games ever made. One of the top five, but even with it solid quality, inventive design, and detailed story it is probably the worse selling product of the Infinity Engine line if not the second worse. Sometimes utter cheap pointless crap sell like there is no tomorrow. For example, Diablo.

The Escapist: The Rise and Fall of Troika
There actions after the fact is irrelevant to the topic because they were no longer Troika. In any case I do agree it was very nice of those who made that final patch for Bloodlines, no doubt about it.

is there a difference between rpg and fps anymore?
I never actually had to read a book. I used Grobnar and Fox's Cunning to boost my Lore to solve those the NPCs didn't. I guess that is sort of cheating.

The Escapist: The Rise and Fall of Troika
Either way, Troika died. Isn't that the topic here?

The Escapist: The Rise and Fall of Troika
It makes sense that the publisher would be more concerned over the bottomline than actual quality. If the game doesn't make money then the quality is irrelevant to them.

Actually I like how some of the puzzles in NWN2 worked. For example in the library. You need a good in character skills to solve the puzzles, and not player skills, and if the NPCs have good enough skills for the require skill they can interject and solve the puzzle to for the PC.

I have to concur with Volourn here. Numberman is the loser in this argument.

The Escapist: The Rise and Fall of Troika
Yes, but there first game wasn't. If they taken the safer route and done licensed products and not over stretched themselves they might still be around. Also they should have worked on a console or ported console for either there first game or second.

The Escapist: The Rise and Fall of Troika
Its 75/25 in my book because they went the wrong way around. They started off with their own IP when they should have hired themselves out to do a licensed product first. Do a few licensed products to build up capital then make your own IP.
