That's just it, nobody here is mad or angry about it... Hell, me being the OP, my favorite shows are CW's DC universe (Arrow, Flash, Legends) and then Gotham. Those are all pretty liberal/SJW, doesn't mean I support it or am an SJW but not complaining or whining about it either. It's strange, or at least I find it so, how many people have seen this thread, where I am only asking a simple question using a so-called "derogatory" term and write a comment as if I'm against those certain types of people/writings but I can't help but think the very people who are accusing others of whining are the very people who are angry themselves, simply for seeing a valid question of a thread that they don't like. To me it's beautiful though because it shows who is passionate for ir against the term whilist staying in the realms of forgiveness, for spaciousness on all fronts.

Hmmm... Sad that some people see the term SJW as a negative. I see it as being a choice and a lifestyle, although I, myself, am not an SJW so I guess anyone could technically come in here say "Exactly, that's why you're not offended by the term, because you aren't one." but that is automatically debunked by the reality that SJW's proudly and boldly proclaim that they are SJW's. And if you don't think that serious, I strongly advise you to go on YouTube and/other forums and you will be enlightened and I think that goes the same to anyone who doubts. There's nothing to be ashamed of here. This thread isn't targeting an audience by using the word SJW but rather content writen by the devs, and everyone has remain fairly respectful, if anything the mods should pat themselves on the back for the simple case of members being so initially involved without throwing jabs or stereotyping at either opposite ends. There is nothing to be ashamed here. Who am I to argue if someone is an SJW or not? It certainly isn't my place to tell other adults what to do or other people's children how to behave. I just think it would be an interesting way to see how pr what everyone feels on how this particular game will utilize such topical values. That's all, no nonesense, just the reality of picking people's brains while I cook me beefy weiner atop me George Foreman

Are you provokingly insinuating that I'm supporting SJW impartiality by choosing Hollow Knight as an avatar? If so, you're wrong. I picked this specific avatar because Hollow Knight was one of my goty for 2017. Furthermore, the Knight is a negotiate of the elders so it makes sense for the Knight to be genderless, it's like a doll that came to life to do their bidding and nothing more. Sure there is patrionized fan-fic of te Knight falling for Hornet but this was all false as the Knight cannot and does not show emotion. It's simply a thing summoned to bring back order, so with that I'd say the game or Team Cherry aren't the SJW type.

Well, at least the main question of the thread is still very valid and the thread shall continue to grow strong as people continue to give glorious insight to our hopes and dreams that is Deadfire So far I've really enjoyed everyone's response as I've learned alot. I am but a nudey in this, naked and deprived of any opinion it seems. A spectating soul forver lost in the void that is the wonderful black abyss, as I read while I eat me fresh can of pork n beans.

The Obsidian Community all-time top 106 games - FULL RESULTS!
SonicMage117 replied to algroth's topic in Computer and Console
Dragon's Dogma was a great choice, one that I regretted not putting on my list. I played the Bruce Lee game on the Xbox (very different one) but refunded it as it was very glitchy and animation was a bit choppy There were alot of great games on Xbox though, ones which I forget the names to but yet have had some impact on memory at least. I hop they release a Xbox mini in the future because I'd buy it. While Xbox One has X360 backwards compatibility, I know it will never play the OG Xbox games I used to play, the very niche ones. -
Do you guys think that Deadfire will be speckled with rices of social justice/liberal writing? I remember the first game, when Obsidian was forced to remove the joke or some content, iirc? I think that maybe even Obsidian would introduce characters wherewhich would appeal to the SJW audiences, rather than upset it. This is fair game for their new game, I personally don't see a matter either way but was curious for your thought.

SonicMage117 replied to SonicMage117's topic in Computer and Console
How is this thread a joke or trolling? I'm asking a legitimate question, and wondering if the reviews were correct because I was wondering if I should buy the game. I'll ask elsewhere to get serious answer Goodnight... -
So I haven't gotten it yet bit heard that it makes the classic characters even better than what they were. I also hear the writing in general is much better that the original BG and BG2. Is it so? Hmmmm... What did you like about the beautiful Baldur's Gate expansion pack? What is so different about it that people love it so much? Please answer with your thoughts, it's nice to see Baldur's Gate return!!!

Moments in gaming that had a huge emotional impact on you...
SonicMage117 replied to Katphood's topic in Computer and Console
Does multiplayer game count? If so, The Escapists 2 comes to mind... Upon joining somebody's game who had over 78 hours, planning action on a critical prison escape and avoid notoriety by achieving a perfect score. I had missed roll call where all the prisoners showed up for the morning meet and greet, the person whom I joined their game was there waiting. I hid from the incoming guards who were now aware of my missing from the important meeting. What did I do then? I hid in an unlocked cell, threw some curtains over/between the bars and started to mess around. I find myself having to flush contraband in a toilet before long... His toilet... in HIS cell. When roll-call was over, he was notified and typed "Uhhh... WHY IS MY CELL FLOODED?" Needless to say, this caused a chain reaction. The stuffed toilet caused an overflow which caused a plumber to come fix the mess, who then discovered the player's hidden contranand which summoned dogs and so on. Instant 5 star security! The person ended up losing all progress, because of my mistake. Something like this can only be done in The Escapists 2. I felt sad, apologized and left the game aost instantaneously... felt really bad and yet cannot help but to laugh when remembering that something like this actually could happen LOL! -
Same but as the saying goes "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." We as consumers do not repeat the same mistakes twice (usually, hopefully). As to what movies appeal to me enough to spend hard-earned money on, it really depends to what is relatable to me. As like I treat me games on me jiffers, if a game or movie has an actor/actress or a character I dig, I'll likely be interested. Whether that may suffer as a consequence of familiarity is unknown but please note this value also applies to a new IP.

I figured we as a people would be wise enough to see past marketing when it comes to games industry. How many times have we seen an E3 trailer which maliciously misrepresents a game before release? Knowledgeable and experienced people who are the hardcore fans/gamers will see past this while a small minority of people will actually believe they will get what's being marketed. Same could be said about a movie trailer or a 2-3 song ep which is chosen to represent a larger product. As both a formulative and accumulated result, as one matures, the marketing tactics become irrelevant and less impending on their economic decisions. It's as if we see these marketing as just deeds of business tactics and less of evil works behinds the scenes trying to trick people. And why should we? I mean, it is a business and they have to eat so it would make sense to see this as a care to make their product look cooler than it really is. Thing is that we have apps like YouTube to do our own research. I would never blame the developer and publisher for making their product appeal to me if I didn't do proper research before spending the bees on it. As far as indopemic penial implantation and psychological hypnoticism goes... The myth of subliminal messages has always been quite interesting to me, I admit, though I never had seen it to be proven but only paranoia among the anti-corporate trend. I think it may just be a case of the weaker minded being angry for being taken advantage of in prior transactions/purchases which they allowed theirselves to be fearlessly subjected to. But aye, just me willy opinion, take it with a grain of sand for I myself is admittedly an ocean of trouble. I knew I shouldn't had eaten those beans

Not to worry, the information is public and you should be able to give a sound opinion if you attain the knowledge and are comfortable enough to do so. The great thing about this beta is that there are many in-depth videos on YouTube and alot of live streams on other sites so it's not like we as non-beta players are not as knowledgeable or have any less place to give a statement on such features and how they are implemented.

True. This is why we have horrible games which are successful in gaming, same reason why horrid movies make millions or dreadful music makes billions. There are hundreds of examples of this, if we are being honest, as it's the same medium (entertainment) which stimulates the same portion of the human brain (the prefrontal cortex). Unfortunately, if a person is on a forum or influenced by other persons elsewhere, they may start to "think" that they could like something that they never wanted. They get lead to thinking "Okay... everyone here at this, place likes it so I must be wrong with what I dislike. Especially if the majority is saying so" only to realize in the end that they were right all along and never should have unknowingly settled for what others wanted. This proves that the minority is often discredited, unfortunately that's the way the world works in this medium but the minority are rarely wrong. Also, I have to say that the "Customer is always right" mindset may not apply to the said product in which it's integrity and original form or concept has been compromised/altered by the customer base before or after release in the first place. If a certain person or group of persons asks the devs for a feature, and are not happy with the way it's implemented, that is not the developers fault but only those who suggested it. It is customer entitlment which allows us to shift blame on the creators for giving us what we wanted without because we cannot admit our wrong doings as a customer. What a privilege! I believe I wrote a thread worth writing, the debate is clear proof and I deeply thank all who participated whether agreeing or disagreeing!

I can see what Gromnir is trying to say here... We've seen time and time again, how fans claim to know exactly what they want and then when they finally get it, it's instant regret. Fans are so easily confused and some people just want/need a change not for quality control but just because they simply get bored. This has been proven in many game releases from beta's ajd early access productions. I think it comes down to developers taking what they want from the feedback in that case. For instance, a beta user states exactly what they want, dev tries to fulfill that wish to the upmost integrity, fan isn't happy at launch because dev said "We'll do our best to implement what you are asking" and only delivers 98% of that... and so the fan/backer, in their false sense of entitlement are angry - even though they literally gotwhat they wanted but still wasn't as good as they hoped for. Sadly, it happens all the time and I suppose these people are a great if example of how not to do feedback with. Sometimes it's the most passionate fabs who are the most critical but not in a good or validated way. Just they expect what they want to be realized by the devs and tend to not look at devs as people with dreams too. In that case, as we have seen, the fans can kill a game in even a franchise in the toxicity they stir up from their emotional response.

Transistor... that ending. -
Yeah, nobody should start shoe-horning on either side, hopefully. This was never intended to be a religion vs anti-religion cult exploitation but if it happens I imagine the thread would just get locked. Bigotry on either side was stated not to be tolerated by the guidelines if I remember correctly. Maybe there's already been a little bit of jabbing (I can't tell), most probably taken with a grain of salt by the other party lol I can't imagine anyone will be really offended by their fellow forum user on here but for the forums sake and to look presentational to new members and/or guests, it's probably best to keep the real-life politics in the politics section

The Obsidian Community all-time top 106 games - FULL RESULTS!
SonicMage117 replied to algroth's topic in Computer and Console
Bloodlines is awesome. The mod that restores content and optimizes it for HD graphics is a must. Plus, it was made with the Source Engine. What's not to love? -
True, and that's a great example. Speaking of, I look at how much Scientific fact has been proven wrong, what we have knowledge on has always been proven false if we look at history of truths and allegations alike. As fresh and smarter minds of an evolved culture conducts new studys ahd suggests new tactics to reach new efforts, usually resulting in an update of the "truth". It never occured to me until I read just now, how much religion has influenced and pressed such a matter til now. Perhaps, scientists and those into scientology will find a way to prove and/or disprove religion as a whole one day but since they cannot even figure out how build a pyramid or a mayan temple without lying, I'm going on a limb to say it will be awhile.
