  1. So **** off, United Kingdom. Source
  2. Godwin's Law prevails again. Of interest: In the article, did it mention the proposed multiple endings as being connected to the karma system? If so, "multiple endings" is misleading. Multiple endings would imply different paths to the end of the game, whereas outcomes dependent upon accumulated karma would imply something lesser. To put it in simpler terms, it very well could be that there are 9-12 different ending voiceovers, which are not determined by the actions you take at the end of the game but by your karma. As well, it would seem to imply that instead of area-by-area epilogues ala the other Fallouts, Fallout 3 will have broad state-of-the-union style endings, which if anything would speak to a lack of attention payed to long-term consequences of actions.
  3. It's not Fallout if you can be a minority.
  4. Anyone who played Descent to Undermountain knows how terrible D&D can be. Oh, snap. If MCA was around, he'd probably say the same thing.
  5. So so sigged.

    GINGISM!

  9. I think that repairing was one of the many things in Oblivion that wasn't abjectly terrible but could have been a lot better had some time been put into it. The big problem with the game for me was that it seemed like they tried to throw as much as they could into it and never bothered to really explore everything. It came out like a mile-wide kiddie pool. Hopefully they'll focus this time around.
  10. Ah, well, if they're randomizing merchant inventories that shouldn't be a problem. There were only a few one-time weapons in the Fallout games and they had to do with pulse energy, right?
  11. Like what the other peoples said, I'm fine with weapon degradation so long as it's not akin to STALKER's, ie, you can't fix your broken stuff. What I'm expecting is a repurposing of the alchemy system in Oblivion towards repairing in Fallout 3. You find certain parts and gadgets and you combine them with a weapon or an item to repair it. That seems like the most straightforward option, besides multitool-like all purpose parts. Honestly, Fallout's applied skills were a little weird in that the vast majority of them didn't need any equipment to work. You could just fix a broken power generator with some know-how and your bare hands.
  12. As I read it, Fallout 3 takes place 200 years after the bombs dropped, which puts it roughly 40 years after Fallout 2. This makes the implied abundance of super mutants halfway across the country rather preposterous given the facts in the other Fallouts (even if they are the remnants of the Master's army, they aren't immortal, and most should logically be dead after 120 years of wandering). And also, because my computer is somewhat dated in the processor department, it's heartening to know that it's definitely coming to the 360.
  13. So Quantic Dream is making a Blade Runner game, eh?
  14. In the wild and magical land of Europe they're selling a DVD with all the currently released PC games (1,2,Tactics) but be warned, I believe they do not come patched. Otherwise, they used to sell 1 and 2 in a dual jewelcase. Check Amazon.
  15. From the descriptions I've heard, it doesn't seem like Oblivion w/ Guns at the moment. But it's not settled just yet. We won't be able to separate Oblivion from Fallout 3 until the extent of improvement in regards to the dialogue system is revealed. The combat could be just like Oblivion's and I wouldn't care. What I will not brook is a hotlink-style dialogue system in any incarnation. That's probably the only thing that would truly break the game for me.
  16. More variety in regard to character creation in NWN2 would be greatly appreciated. Has anybody fixed those half-elven faces yet?
  17. I might be sold on "hand held nuclear cannons" if it was more of a dirty-bomb type of thing, which would be slightly more plausible and workable. Mini-nukes... not so much. As much as I might give Bethesda the benefit of the doubt, it does appear that while they're trying to maintain retro-future aesthetics on some level, they seem to have largely abandoned the "Science!" aspect of Fallout. But I could be proven wrong.
  18. I'm having one of those nights where everything you want is completely beyond your abilities. Blah.
  19. From the looks of it, they may well make an engaging and fun game, albeit one that probably won't be considered "Fallout". I'm interested, but the spin from Bethesda and the anti-spin of the community are making things difficult to judge at the moment.
  20. Sounds pretty good, but it's easy to dress up something ****ty and make it sound great. We'll see. Anticipation meter indicates - > not total disaster.
  21. Being that BG2 is long and fraught with several games worth of replay value (whereas NWN2 only lasted about 2 playthroughs before running dry ) it's probably my favorite game of all time, slightly above Fallout 2. Also, I listen to a lot of music while I play my games, and BG2 might just stand out in my mind because I've played so much of it and thus so much music is associated with it in my mind.
  22. Yeah, the planar handbook and those books pretty much describe Planescape in 3.5, and you have to remember that Torment was more about Sigil than anything else, and Sigil is now a universal D&D location.
  23. Meh, Joanna Newsom's better, and probably more talented. Can't say, never heard these kids. Server's being judgemental, so I'm only able to host one song. Buck 65 - I'm Gonna Do Ya
  24. Dude, there's a plastic surgeon every few blocks in Brazil. There are a lot of Brazilian supermodels. Just evil people, generally.
