For me Ubi games lack “meat” - their games are extremely repetitive and core gameplay loop is just too shallow to make those enjoyable to me. They are pretty but the glamour disappears after a session or two. The closest I came to enjoying a modern Ubi game was FarCry3 - shooting was enjoyable enough and it wasn’t padded that badly - I still started to get bored with it halfway through. I didn’t bother trying AssCreed reboots as while they shake things up a little bit, they seemed to add stuff I tend to hate, like grindy power progression in an action game.

Huh, new DLC map for Hitman3 will be free - that’s unexpected and welcome after how stingy H3 has been with content: -

A pre-EarlyAccess footage of a new game from Prison Architect folks. Gosh, such a strong nostalgia with this update. Looks like FTL on steroids. -
I feel rather sour about the game - mainly because I spend a decent time playing it in EA and it felt like the game stopped developing months into early access. The core gameplay is still fun, but I felt like the game didn’t become any more fun in a year+ that passed since I last played it. Some hazards were added, but none really adding anything meaningful. I am one of the people who dislike the addition of the story - I liked the tone of the game far better without it. It’s a bit too “on the nose” and intrusive. It’s also criminal how often game forces you to sit through mandatory VO - strange choice as one would think that radio chat in missions, would be a more obvious way of dropping the exposition. The mission you described is the only part in the game where gameplay and story intersects. still, dissecting ships is still as fun as it was when the game entered early access.

It's not about being dramatic, it's about matching the intended audience's reading comprehension. -
Tutu mod, I believe - at least that's what I have been using back in a day. Honestly it was a better update to BG1 then enhanced edition, as while it allowed players to take advantage of BG2 advancements (like new classes, dualwielding etc) it also allowed for more faithful recreation of BG1. If we find a way to solve an issue with UI being too small let me know. As flawed as they are I mostly stick to Enhanced Editions these days

That looks…. neat? Like a poor man’s Mario. As long as it’s controls are half decent, it could be a fun time. -
I saw a game which might interest you: Dome Keeper. I saw it in SkillUps indy list. It's a tower defence title - while it's not my cup of tea, it might be yours.

But it’s nothing like MEs unless you refer to the mess that were Mako driving from ME1 - which is not exactly a flattering comparison. -

Which considering that OW2 is a major patch to OW1 is not very surprising. Blizz vowed a while back that Ow1 multi will be always compatible with OW2 - with game going free to play, I couldn't imagine it being any other way. Which also brings a question, why call it OW2 if there will be no distinction between the two. -

Faithless! StarCitizen will be like Starfield, but good. Finally, Starfield 5 will have a decent competition. -

Yes, of course. That’s what Yahtzee calls “Bioware face”. That’s pretty much a standard in any large game attempting “cinematic” look, without focus/budget to pull it off. Bioware had it (maybe with exception of MEs), Bethesda has it, now Larian has it. -

Stalker2 got an update during todays XBOX's extended showase (otherwiseit was devs talking more about projects shown two days ago - nothing that stand out to me). There is this potentially upsetting dev diary: And what I think is an opening cutscene: On steam game is listed for Decemeber 2023 release. -

Not much to discuss. CGI trailer from a studio I am unfamiliar with. If it is supposed to launch within 12 months it would be nice to see something more specific, though I know strategy games aren't lookers. Which reminds me, I have Humankind installed since it launched and I am yet to play it... -

Those two very well summarize my feelings on the matter: In my opinion, in Elder Scrolls 3, 5 and Fallout3 (those are games I played) Bethesda wasn't able to create a game space worth exploring. I can't imagine how they can create multiple planets, not to mention 1000 that wouldn't bore me after an evening or two. I have played some overly big games - like Elite Dangerous, or recently (and currently on a halt) Elden Ring... but those games were fun to play. Starfield looks very janky, and this is some of the clunkiest dogfighting I have seen. -
I see. To me that announcement meant nothing beyond Avowed being a thing Obsidian worked on - Like many announcements in that presentation I treated it as XBOX showing off their recent purchases rather then actual announcements. Specifically Avowed seemed like devs have nothing to show beyond a very basic pitch - very much like later Outer Worlds2 CGI trailer, or ElderScrolls6.
-
I don't see it that way - if anything I wish publishers/devs wouldn't advertise their games until they are close to release. See Bethesda - they tend to keep things to themselves until the game is at "coming together" point. I don't know how old Obsidian acted - unless you mean crowdfunding Obsidian, which is a very different thing. We are not source of fuding during development so Obs can focus on making the game, rather then keeping fans engaged throughout the development process. They are also in the position to do course corrections - something that PoE1&2 would greatly benefit from. I don't remember hearing much about other not-crowdfunded Obsidian games - especially Outer Worlds were roumored for a long time before being shown. And Avowed is larger still. Another thing is, that games like Avowed, Fable and Hellblade2 have a lot of importance to Microsoft - those will be first big budget productions made under Microsoft umbrella. A nieche unfinished cult classic just won't cut it. So far with Psychonauts2, Redfall, Starfield Microsoft didn't flinch from giving teams more dev time. I just hope everything is going alright there, as I really, really, really want Avowed to be good.

It is still possible we will see something on a later date - like Game Awards.

No? None of the games I am interested in from the showcase are from Bethesda. Just wanted to releave@Keyrockrfrom having to post every trailer from the showcase.
