Suggestion: Don't recycle BioEvil!
ShinIchiro replied to CastleBravo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'd definately agree that there is a problem here. The villans are all "HAHAHA I AM EVIL. NOW GIVE ME YOUR MONEY BEFORE I KILL EVERY PERSON I CAN FIND". I haven't played that many bio-games, but I notice that pattern even with my limited experience (and it was definately there in KOTOR). -
Why are you on these forums?
ShinIchiro replied to -Master of All-'s topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I kind of went all obsessive over KOTOR 1 and waited for it for 2 years. It was kind of a central part of my life...now that's sad... I am a SW fan and an rpger (though it had been console rpgs ff style til then). I got interested in KOTOR enough that it started me pnp rpging actually (i wanted to see the general rules KOTOR was based on). I was almost as obsessive about KOTOR after it came out as I had been while waiting. Really, I was checkign the main page 2-3 times per day. And I was active on the Bio forums from near the beginning. So, I guess I marked other because it's a mix of many factors, some listed, some not. -
FF8 was an awesome game... How isn't it a RPG? And the numerous cutscenes were awesome. I say this all depends on one's definition of an RPG. This is not a CRPG style, but is rather the newer and more prominant console RPG style. Both are valid as rpgs, and as KOTOR is a mix of the two, it mixes the qualities and characteristics of the two.

To your Bastila question yes it's too big. Secondly, Storm isn't dark exclusive. Tenel Djo. Also, it's more of a wave upgrade BTW consolidate your threads. It's getting absurd how many yu start.

That is quite the witty response (and tough to answer). I'll fend off your question with a question: Which one are we talking about? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I know 7,8, and 9 best, so I'll say them. I can't defend well what I don't know well. Though, I could go with all of them and still be relatively safe...
-
Let's not even write on this thread and go down this dark road again!
-
Well, I personally would like a lightsaber house that i carry around with me and throw at people! I would really like to know if you guys like this idea, as it is an intellectual idea! If you want to know one reason why we all oppose you, look at the thread titled Saberwhip (not the recent one). Next time do a search btw. Also, though this is less defensible, the idea is simply absurd.

Enemy gains experience as well?
ShinIchiro replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yah...I guess...I think that enemies should have different rates of gain then i guess. Like the obviously weak one grows much slower than you, while a strong one will grow at the same as you. Maybe 1 or 2 super ones might even grow faster... Anyway, I still hate that system, though I realiaze it's unavoidable. -
Intellectual discussions about intellectual topics! Sry man, but it just won't work. We've been working to shoot down bad saber ideas for months now. Gun just isn't that good of an idea...

Please just stop now!

I too agree with hades in general, but not in this game. I've argued with him alot about this and there's alot of evidence either way, but it comes down to personal preference and previous gaming experience. I as an FF player (this be my first CRPG i think) found this game extremely expansive with alot of possibilities. hades, a crpger, found this limiting. Now, if this were a traditional CRPG, hades would win easily. If this were a traditional console game, the jedi fans would win. HOwever, as this game is a mix of the two (as i've been saying alot recently), there's room either way.

come on poeple...the man has a point about the game! -
Enemy gains experience as well?
ShinIchiro replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yah, I kind of hate that system... I want enemies hard or some easy, not level dependent... About the enemy leveling up, isn't that called enemies getting harder? It happens almost every time with repeating bosses in games. They're stronger after each time. I think they should be stronger, but not randomly leveling up. -
We used to call those games adventure games back in the day <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So is final fantasy an rpg? I've said it before (though I think no one read my post there) that KOTOR is a mix between traditional CRPGs and more modern Console rpgs. It contains alot of choice for a console one, but not much for a CRPG. That's one of the reason it appeals to so many people, some of whom aren't dedicated CRPGers (unlike many other "real" roleplaying games).

Which Saber Style is better and Why?
ShinIchiro replied to Soriath's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Potentially most powerful you mean... I don't remember all off hand, but I'll give it a try. Some might be vague or maybe mixed up I'm warning you, though I think these are right. Form I Basic form that all are taught in academy Form II Saber vs Saber. Used more in the olden times when the jedi had saber using opponents. Form III Blaster deflection style. Most common modernly Form IV Uses natural agility to fight and defeat opponent Form V Ummm...I think more agressive style of blaster deflection Form VI Used by diplomats... Form VII Mace Windu's experemental recently created form of striking in seeming random positions and putting one's mind in a trance-like state (where one is truly deadly but gives one's self more and more to fighting the more you immerse yourself). Called Vaapad after a deadly multiple tenticled creature. This form might be POTENTIALLY the most powerful, but is hardest to learn. Not made any easier as the masters are still developing it. -
Suggestion: Don't recycle BioEvil!
ShinIchiro replied to CastleBravo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Come on people, I can see a suggestion hidden in there (or a potential one at least). Let's not get nitpicky. Besides, if you're going to really be picky, you might as well say the suggestions forum is a discussion forum since our input won't affect KOTOR 2... Anyway, I and many have agreed that the evil is too thug-like. Being evil is about hurting peoples feelings, making them cry, and stealing their money here... -
Enemies fight each other more?
ShinIchiro replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Ok, I both like and dislike this idea. I like the general concept. I dislike how any game company would probably execute it... Also, it seems kind of cheap to me. Maybe you'd actually need a skill for it...maybe give skils meaning... -
Which Saber Style is better and Why?
ShinIchiro replied to Soriath's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I agree completely. There should be some big limitation to using them. We know there's something wrong that needs to be fixed. We just don't know how to fix it. -
Should Kotor2 be a little more Violent.
ShinIchiro replied to psychohazards's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Is hades going all anti-jedi again? Well, I shouldn't say again because he never stopped :D ! Trust me guys, this is a fight you'll never be able to win, no matter how brilliantly you argue. Hades and I used to go back and forth about this... There is enough support to prevent his point from not being completely absurd and all you guys will do is proclaim your opinion without even considering the other...it's human nature. Anyway, after saying that, this game kind of is about jedi. While that may be a flaw (something i don't like is given the rarity of jedi, 1/2 of your party shouldn't be jedi), it's also a good rpg and the first star wars rpg. One of a new generation of SW games (SW games actually worth noting). Therefore I'm happy. -
jedi and non-jedi teamates
ShinIchiro replied to ForceFullJon's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
While I managed to get Carth compotent eventually, I found the characters that were the most fun to have were jedi. You have those wacky force powers and better roleplaying stuff. Therefore my usual party was bastila, me, and carth. Often I tried to bring myself (on later play-throughs) to deviate from that party, but I found myself using it (because those people are the characters with the most dialogue and are the most fun). Therefore (though I had to vote I used jedi the most), I like interesting characters, jedi or not. Unfortunately, all the interesting characters were jedi, except for maybe carth... -
Which Saber Style is better and Why?
ShinIchiro replied to Soriath's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Firstly, it should be single because the others are incredibly rare and hard to use. There are only a couple saber staff users...ever. There's also no record i can think of of someone using 2 sabers. however, due to the prominance and ease (which is a mistake i think) of the multi-blades (staff and two sabers), they are better overall. Because staff's animations look lame (according to many, not just myself), and I feel better using two weapons, I'd go with 2 sabers. Besides you can get that whole crystal diversity of a stunner in one hand and damage in the other (usually you put the damage saber in the right hand). About dueling, defense doesn't really matter by the end of the game. You kill all small people with one hit anyway and Malak just doesn't miss. maybe if you're a consular it would be useful... -
Melee weapon in one hand, ranged weapon in other
ShinIchiro replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Feeling urge to be satirical! Well, there was no chance of it on the other 5 threads, but now that this one has come out, we really might get it! -
oppurtunity to kill off party members at will?
ShinIchiro replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
NO. JUST NO. This is less of a traditional CRPG and is more a hybrid CRPG and console RPG. In console RPGs, you just can't kill characters like in CRPGs. Therefore it's alot harder in KOTOR to make it work. -
Since somebody picked an overly dramatic title in ordrer to gain attention! Really, that is an overly dramatic title you ascribed to the restriction of all CRPGs.
