  1. Oh man, that modifier can really throw a wrench in your plans. My typical experience is a low-dexterity character running across something like Caltrops or a Shortbow, and suddenly it's a question of: how many blessings do I have to throw at this piece of junk to ensure I don't lose an extra turn? Occasionally pairing that up with the "bury acquired boons" modifier just exemplifies the cruel indifference of the RNG gods. I see that and I raise you Amiri encountering the Codex. Because for some reason she always, ALWAYS encounters that. This game pisses me off. In a good way. If that makes sense.
  2. I actually like getting the "bury acquired boons" wildcard powers, they are much more benign than others - in particular with mature parties that don't need those boons to begin with. Now, the "discard the top card from the blessings deck when you fail to acquire a boon" I hate with the fire of a thousand suns, it strains my resources so much when going 6 players. Of course, when you manage to win it's a great feeling.
  3. I have never bought gold - just the 25$ bundle - and it's not showing for me either. Might be a territorial thing? I'm in Spain.
  4. My issue with Valeros is that once I had him and other characters kitted out enough, I almost never needed to use the discard powers of his weapons, nor was his "bodyguard" power that useful anymore. Even in decisive battles against high difficulty monsters, an extra die was a drop in the sea once I brought support spells and blessings to bear. At that point, Amiri just brought a more distinct utility (in legendary) that's harder to replicate with other characters. There's just so many ways to buff up your combat rolls. But he is fun to play. The game is flexible enough that almost any combo can work with the right card resources.
  5. To the OP, if you're playing Legendary, Amiri >>>> Valeros by a significant margin in my opinion. Her ability to move twice and carry people with her makes it so much easier to avoid those "wasted turns" towards the end of the scenario, which can be critical in 6 player. I picture her in 'Nam dropping soldiers off a chopper. Yeah, I do. I'm weird like that. If you don't do Legendary, I'd keep Valeros indeed. He's fun to play with all that power.
  6. Yeah, there's a point where you don't need too much healing anymore. In particular when you start stocking cards like Augury, Scry and other location deck manipulation boons, plus characters with feats that allow you to optimize your explores (like Seelah's crusade). The key is to get to the henchmen quicker without having to discard many cards to get extra explores, or face too many banes. The lack of needed healing is precisely why I love Kyra, btw. In the rare occasion where a heal might be critical (a fumbled bane roll, a nasty scenario/location power), I can instantly provide it without having to plan for it. I'm already regretting picking Seelah's healing feat for instance. I have yet to use it in 20+ games.
  7. Same happened to me, in case you're looking for replication. Kinda annoying indeed since I was forced to pick up a power I wasn't interested in.
  8. The app is great because it sorts out the whole prepping and cleaning up, so you only focus on the best part of the gaming experience: actually playing the game. Meanwhile, the physical game has the unbeatable asset of the social experience of sitting with your friends and have a great time with them while you play. So both can coexist.
  9. So, this is a strange bug. It seems that whenever I use Seoni to support a roll from Lini in some fashion (like using a blessing or other support cards), one card in Seoni's hand ends up in Lini's hand. This happens even if they are not in the same location. I just started playing a group with both Seoni and Lini for the first time, and this is happening all the time. In case it matters, I always have Seoni in spot #1 and Lini in spot #6.
  10. Yay! It's coming at last. The animated screenshot looks really cool. Glad to hear the phone UI is getting some attention and a toggle to opt-out.
  11. No show-stopping bugs on my part. No lost gold. No freezes. No progression locks. However the new UI has lots of clipping and misaligned object issues. While I commend the philosophy behind it (yay no more eyestrain!), it certainly needs a lot of refinement. I kinda dislike the fact that I have to tap a button in order to display the location information, something that I find myself doing almost every turn.
