Yeah. I don't think anyone has spotted anything yet. Maybe there is still some new media coming up over the next few weeks. As far as the trailers we already have, I've checked out the Aedyran script featured in many of the videos, and while the result can be pretty cool, it isn't relevant to the hunt. So, the sources indicated in the email and the Scavenger hunt announcement are: screenshots - yes trailers - nothing yet social media posts - yes website banners - ...maybe? images - yes, but that's also quite vague GIFs - yes concept art - nothing yet Other places we've found them include real-life printed media, backer videos, twitch streams, and an email. Lots of sources, yes, but nearly all of the codes we've found are aren't much further than a link or two distant from a post on one of the official twitter accounts.

hCSjoE - PAX East Twitch Stream, Day 2 (07 Apr) It's the same code that Carrie, Aarik, and Mikey were wearing during the final days of the convention.

Portraits
Ethics Gradient replied to iscalio's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Aloth's reference model was Milou van Groesen. Pallegina has Ajuma Nasenyana as a facial reference. Nothing much has changed between the two games to say that the portraits are radically different. The artists just used different shots of the same models as inspiration. -
Yeah. It's totally GOG. And it's not entirely that they're bunch of backwards jerks or anything; as a distribution platform they have a different philosophical approach to games than Steam does. Part of their belief is that a title shouldn't require some external server to unlock, earn or manage content. It's great 5-10 years down the line when all the infrastructure disappears (like with the Mass Effect 3 or Assassins Creed IV mini-games/apps), but it can be a total bummer for modern releases that might casually rely on a web tie-in or server to do something cool for the players. It doesn't mean that GOG users are going to be totally left in the dark for this promo. It just means that GOG as a platform isn't having a hand in distributing the Scavenger Rewards. There's nothing stopping the "DLC" being repackaged as a "mod" (which is essentially what it is) and distributed through other channels.

Regardless of GOG's stance on how DLCs should work, I don't think there's anything stopping Obsidian from distributing the rewards separately through the Scavenger Hunt portal. A simple drag-and-drop of a 4kb file is all GOG users should need. Another solution would be to leverage existing systems. Popping open the console and typing something like COSMIC SCAV_REWARDS1 could also do the trick. Anyway, I guess my point is there are still plenty of options that Obsidian has at their disposal before the community has to forge their own solution. And there are still a few weeks to sort it all out. I'm not too worried.

True.... but you can always crack the save file back open and flip that bit back in the other direction... If Obsidian can't find an easy way to get the Scavenger bundles to GOG users, I imagine it won't take too long for the community to generate a step-by-step guide to add the items without permanently branding your save as a party of cheaters. When there are Pirate Space Pigs on the line, fans will find a solution.
-
Since it is likely to be in the released game whether or-not you get the scavenger DLCs, there's probably nothing stopping you from using console commands to add these items to your party (GOG or steam). If they're anything at all like the PoE1 "exclusives", the DLC packages are just a few tiny override scripts to tell the game to to drop a certain package of already-in-game items in the party inventory without marking the save as having used cheat codes.

Done! I’ll try and clean up and streamline all the threads when I get a chance. Everything could use a solid update now that we know what they’re for.

Thanks! I never saw the full-text for that second article! All the magazines so far have had a similar set of codes inside. Somewhere inside are the KFK5Lj and RMaM4A press-kit images, and probably you could spot XQrdGv or DeYvu8 on the front cover. The hunt continues.

I haven't gone super-crazy combing through the thousands of 2d assets, but in the last few months, I haven't seen anything in the beta to suspect that's the case. The announcement also didn't specify that data mining was within the bounds of this promotion. I doubt there's much to be found there besides a bunch of out-of-context spoilers.

The other 29 seem correct in the front OP, but this one is wrong. Anyone figure out what it actually is yet? Am I wasting my time, is there a way to just get all 10 items without pasting the codes and keeping up with this thread? Yeah. We're working on that one... seems to be causing trouble. As far as entering the codes, it's just as easy to wait a few days (or until release) and see what we find. No need to be involved in the race code-by-code.

”Accidentally” published on Steam There are also a lot of game systems that we don't fully understand yet either. Not every code necessarily has to be redeemed for a scavenger bundle, even if it seems like that is the most probable outcome. The more I dig into the "Berath's Blessing" NG+ system, the less straightforward it seems. Maybe some codes redeem for Berath tokens or other undiscovered game bits.

Nice find! Did you happen to see any others? One of the best theories concerning all those codes we've been finding is that they're redeemable for items in-game. That theory got a big boost in the latest beta with a bunch of unfinished references to "Scavenger Bundles", which are redeemed and granted to the party. That steamdb screenshot you took just adds another ray of hope that those codes we've piled up are indeed redeemable, somehow, for something.
