  1. Btw: you only need 5/9 cards when soloing. Legendary is much easier this way, this saved me from a /ragequit.
  2. Satyr unless I catch hin on Meri, Warchanter & Caizarlu Zerren sometimes...
  3. Good info, a few comments from me: Merisiel: I took the Acrobat role in my 1st playthrough to midpoint and happy with Delay, but I am still undecided now that I finished A3S5 again. Pro Acrobat: HS7 > HS6, Delay. I think 90% of people take the Acrobat role because of Delay, one of the strongest powers in the game. Alternatively, you *could* use Ilsoari Gandethus as an ally, and while it takes endless time going through the Sandport Devil dice procedure every time, he basically is the equivalent of Delay in ally-form - if you get him early in the scenario he will almost stick to you. Pro Thief: Sabotage Location costs only 1 point (no need for Sabotage Barrier) instead of 2, Black Marketer > Item Collector (if you're into collecting weapons & armor at all). And, afaik, some encounters in later adventures (and the main boss) can not be evaded, so no Hide/Delay on them. Well, Acrobat is definitely suited for Quest Mode, carrying Ilsoari through literally (no, really) 100s of games could be cumbersome... Kyra: Completely agree with you. HS 8 for the healer is huge. My small party of 3 rarely used her healing powers sofar in the game (mostly because Meri & Seoni are 99% solo in their locations). Cure/Major Cure does the trick for Kyra herself for now, so I don't know. Exorcist may be useless if you don't face Undead or Outsiders. Dawnflower's Favorite though is nicer for the Exorcist, isn't it? Still undecided. Seoni: Took Celestial Sorcerer during my 1st run. Abyssal Sorcerer/Worthy Sacrifice: it could be useful in some situations, but I can't think of many instances where I would use it. But no matter if Celestial/Abyssal: I would first pump up Arcane Blast & Resistances. Just some thoughts, fwiw.
  4. @Longshot11: Good point, almost forgot about the simple beauty of all those B items. My party usually carries 2 Blessings of Torag around for that purpose, but I could reduce those in favor of a +STR item. It's beyond imagination how many items my Meri can bring along in her handbag. Really, I specialized her in that. @Rhygar: True! Seoni luckily carries 2 Blessings of Irori around for those naaasty INT checks. And I agree - in a party of 4, Ezren has to be taken into consideration, but he would not be my favorite 4th party member next to M, K & Seoni (too much arcane specs). I think Ezren would fit perfectly into the classic D&D party: Valeros (STR/CHA), Kyra (STR/WIS), Merisiel (DEX) & Ezren (INT).
  5. Hello, during the weekend, I re-started and re-leveled my party of 3 through B, 1, 2 and the 1st part of 3, because I was not really convinced of my skill-power-card feat choices. I am happy with my powers & card feats now, but am still not sure on where to put the 4th skill point. In the first playthrough to midpoint of RotR (end of A3), I distributed my skill points as follows: Merisiel: DEX +4 Kyra: WIS +4 Seoni: CHA +4 I was not too happy with that, feeling that the +4 was overkill on all of them and +3 would have been enough. +3 in my experience was/is the sweet spot for riskless "auto-closing" a lot of lower level locations. But how often will I have to close lower level locations from A4 to the end of the game? Requirements for closing locations go up to +12 later in the game afaik... What do you think? BTW, total number of skill points you can gain until the end of RotR will be +6, and a lot of builds here still go for a +4 in the main skill... http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2r81m?Rise-of-the-Runelords-We-Need-A-Snapshot-of
  6. This is slightly off-topic, but the thread is good info, so excuse me posting here, too. I have not been playing with a 4 person party for longer than a few hours, my experience is mostly based on my "3 angels" Merisiel, Kyra & Seoni. Have been playing them through B, 1, 2 and 3 and into the mid-30s of the quest mode. With Merisiel covering DEX, Kyra WIS/Divine/STR and Seoni CHA/Arcane, I found myself having covered all the bases and tbh, I never really missed Ezren's INT as INT checks are rare. What I missed sometimes was a high STR performer and I am still thinking about leveling up Amiri so they are 4, but I missed STR mostly when I failed at non-combat STR checks, not in combat... plus I feel the game with 3 chars is the sweet spot for me, more relaxed adventuring than the 4 person party that has to go after 6 locations.
  7. Slaying Bow, A6, too, but I opened only like 8 of 48 chests sofar (to reward myself when I'm in the mood, lol).
  8. Feywood described it perfectly, the numbers are just not intuitive. HctF has always been polarizing, and I found it to be more frustrating than entertaining, but surely hard to code. Played through the whole adventure early today, it's not one of the best, tbh. Skinsaw Murders still shines.
  9. Hm... do we want our very own equivalent of the Paizo forums' "We need a snapshot of your ROTR characters at midpoint!" thread for the digital version here in our forums? I am game.
  10. Skill, Power & Card Feat "Respec" I don't know if the PACG crowd will "banish" me for asking, but would a "respec" feature (that could be bought in the shop and resets all your points to zero and lets you redistribute all skills, powers & card feats) be an option for testing different character "builds"? I am quite happy with how I developped my characters, but sometimes I wonder if another development path would have been the better idea. Especially for higher-level quest mode characters (no way I will re-start the grind), I would like to see such an option. I don't think it would destroy the feeling of the game, it's the digital version after all.
  11. I hit L30 Quest Mode with Merisiel/Kyra/Seoni 2 weeks ago and I continued to farm Tier 3 for a few days, so just a comment to your list based on my experience with card drops @ Tier 3: Father Zantus and Elven Breatplate (luckily) appeared after hitting L30, and I managed to receive a 2nd copy of Masterworks Tools too. Personally I think that Quest Mode card distribution is not bugged, it's simply a different set of cards, some upgraded/downgraded from their story mode tiers in order to balance quest mode. Father Zantus, eg, is a good example for an "upgraded" card, maybe the Devs saw it as too "OP" for a basic ally card.
